I fell in love with a Harmon pellet stove. They went over detail of what I needed. I had a estimate of what my cost would be prior to that n home analysis. I called Tall Pines Farm twice and emailed once about needing repair service on our fireplace insert that was bought at Tall Pines Farm. Both phone calls and email message resulted in no service appointment. No response at all to my email request for an appointment. A customer should not need to work for days to get a service appointment set up! I just called Arctic Bear in Binghamton, within 5 minutes they knew my issue, my address and had set a service appointment. That's how a company that is interested in servicing its customers acts. read more

My experience was also similar. I bought two stoves - a fireplace insert and a standalone about 5 years ago. spent loads of $$$$. Was promised that the salesman, whom I really liked, would do the install. Instead, got someone esle who was somewhat clueless and have suffered from install probels ever since. High pressure sales and poor installation is what we experienced with this company. We have had to fix their mistakes over the past two years with a pellet stove we purchased. It was not worth the cost and frustration of having them come to fix it (as they told us themselves). The pellet stove is fine, as was the price. We had hoped for a better experience, however, after dropping a couple of thousands of dollars with them. There are several other local stores that sell similar products at an equal or better price with significantly better service, sales, and installation (i.e. Countryside Stoves and Fireplaces in Oxford, NY). read more

On the advice of friends we bought two stoves from them (a wood insert and a pellet stove). We were impressed with their facility and they seemed really nice. Neither stove worked well and they never made it right. When I asked them to fix them they said they had way to many new installations to do and couldn't come out for a while. The pellet stove eventually stopped working and they told us we could bring it to them to fix and an incredibly high rate per hour. The wood insert works but not well. We are going to have to replace both and we will not be choosing Tall Pines. read more

My husband and I recently purchased a pellet stove from Tall Pines. While we were happy with the product itself, we were less than enthused with their customer service and installation. Steve, whom installed our stove, needed to come back due to sizing and fitting issues. Upon leaving, he told me, " just give me a few bucks to cover my extra trip over here". While it made me uncomfortable, I thought not much of it until our bill came. We were charged a labor fee, which is fine; however why then did Steve wish for me to pay him additionally?? Furthermore, we were double charged for parts, charged for parts which we never had, and charged for parts which we had and were then taken back by Steve. I do not recommend this company and will send my business elsewhere in the future. There are many reputable companies in the area, Tall Pines is not one of them. read more

I just had a Jotul fireplace insert installed. I'm happy with both the product and the service.

To put it mildly, their customer service is in the toilet. After buying a stove from them and all our accessories and pellets for the past 3 or 4 years, getting them out to fix anything is a nightmare. The technician was out on multiple occassions and couldn't fix it, and every time we had to wait days for anyone to even call us back. Finally they made us remove the fireplace insert and TAKE IT TO THEM...do you take your refrigerator to the repairman? I doubt it. By the way they still did not fix it. Now when Sandy hit, we had no power for 7 days and this was our only source of heat, and it wouldn't work, when we called again for service we were told they might get to us next Tuesday, 8 days from when we called. Asked for George to call us back and we are still waiting 3 weeks later...my suggestion is find another business to deal with. read more

I love working with Tall Pines Farm-Stoves & Fireplaces. George & Team has a huge selection of the best of the best. Especially for our harsh Upstate New York/Pennsylvania winters, something not only reliable but cost efficient is so important. I read alot of reviews on Yelp, and I am quite suprised to see the negativity! Again, these reviews are extremely outdated (4 years+). My best advice would be to head up to the showroom and see their vast inventory. The staff is extremely friendly, knowledgable, and responsive to what you want out of your purchase. From stoves, fireplaces, grills, wood pellets, among other items, they have the best assortment for whatever budget or size of your house. Thank you George and Team for all of your hard work! I know of many happy clients who are thrilled at their product, installation, and professionalism. When it comes to keeping your house warm, would you rather have a hands off customer experience with little information, or 100% customer and product satisfaction? I can't say I want to take a chance when the weather turns bad! read more

I purchased a quadrafire pellet stove from Tall Pines farm and let me begin to tell you what people tell you about the call backs is completely accurate. Debbie is not only rude but very unprofessional, George as nice as a person that he is and I respect him, he should not allow this lady to work for him any longer. Its because of her and her only that I will not spend a dime more at Tall Pines farm, her mannerism and sure fire unprofessional attitude is enough to upset just about anyone. I purchased my pellet stove from them about 5 years ago for many $1000's, the thing has had issue after issue from the minute it walked in my door. My brother in law and father in law have the same exact model also purchased there with the same issues. I have dumped close to a $1,000 to repair this model. George is a fantastic businessman and gentleman but I fear he has no clue as to exactly how much business he is losing at the hands of Debbie. She will lie and ask the same information over and over to just stall and delay getting someone out to your home, then when she is called on it she denies the whole thing. George (owner) and Chris (repairman) are fantastic people trying hard to hold that place together while Debbie single handily rips it down. I must give George credit unlike Debbie he had no problem sending his tech to my home through good will gesture as Debbie was trying to make a quick buck as she usually does. I am very well familiar with the law, if an item is repaired during the warranty period or at least an attempt was made and it fails again shortly after that repair must be made again under warranty. So if I were to rate this company I would give it a D- and that's only because George actually tried, I must give him credit for that. But if Debbie wasn't around someone who cant get over the past I would rate this company a B. I am now in the market for a Harman P68 and will be buying one very soon and as long as Debbie is working for this place I will not conduct my business there. Thanks so much George for your help and support but life would be so much easier for you if you took Debbie off of the phones and put her to work where no customer service is needed because she fails greatly in this department, instead of trying to argue with customers and pointing out how bad they are maybe she should concentrate on trying to make the customer happy. We purchased our Jotul fireplace about 11 years ago, and it has always worked perfectly since we bought it (only having to recently replace a part in the blower for $29). We've used Tall Pines over the years to replace glass on a coal burner in basement, and to service the fireplace, too. The staff has always been friendly and very knowledgeable. Carlene's been really great - she helped us pick out a new Jotul propane burner (stove) to replace the coal burner. Service team installed it yesterday and our basement is now a toasty 73 degrees (we'll lower the thermostat today). As for the service guys, they were great & even ran the shop vac after they did the install...there wasn't any packaging debris leftover, either. The propane company just came to check the lines and the driver said the unit is exceptionally energy efficient - as for the fireplace, he couldn't believe the glass on the fireplace was never replaced (he thought that it was the new install), I must have that thing turned on 9 months out of the year, using it to heat an 18 x 28 room (the heat goes into the kitchen and dining room, too). The house is 45 years old and has electric heat, so these have been great options for us. read more

Purchased a top of the line Harmon pellet stove. The day of the install, the contractor was OVER 6 hours late. I called Tall Pines not, once, not twice, 3 times to see where he was and their answer was...come back and pick up your check. No I want my stove. Finally after the install was completed, which he did do a good job, I did not pay Tall Pines for the parts. I did not get a chance for them to hear my complaint, so they just went in and charged these parts UNAUTHORIZED! I am contacting my bank today to see what can be done. Yes I owe them the money for the parts, but they need to hire a more reliable contractor, as my time is much too valuable to sit home and not be at my job. Lost money not being at my job hence not paying THEM for their parts. I will never go to them for service or parts. read more
