Loved this cooking class and market tour!! We made traditional Spanish dishes. They made a special vegetarian paella for me and it's was super! The tour was educational and entertaining, I also really enjoyed meeting other travelers.

This is was an incredible experience! Dominic and Clara were wonderful. Clara took us on a very informative tour of Triana Market, explaining the history and showcasing the ingredients in the dishes that were were going to make. Dominic was a great chef and instructor, who was personable, entertaining and informative. The dishes that we made were delicious - Valencian and vegetarian paellas, spinach with chick peas and salmonejo. We had freshly made Sangria during the class and Dominic made us a refreshing lemon sorbet with cava as a final treat. Thank you to all of the staff at Taller Andaluz for a memorable experience!

Some sort of spinach chick pea garlic tomato tapas. Excellent!

This is one of the best experiences of coming to Seville! Maria and victor and our chef was absolutely amazing with organizing the flow and programming of the cooking lesson. Moreover, at 50 euros per person it is an absolute steal I tell you. From the amount of hours they spend to what is included for food and drink all the way to the amount of quality time and education they provide, it's worth coming again. In our class, we did the traditional chicken paella, spinach and chick peas and the gaspacho. We learned so much and got so involved with the whole cooking process, that time just went by quickly. Along the way we were given olives, crackers and sangria to eat and drink while Maria would run around all over to clean up and get ready for the next part of the cooking process all while sharing laughs and knowledge to fellow students. Maria is sneaky and will always top up your glass ;) Not only do you get to eat the delicious foods made from the freshest ingredients, but the recipes we learned are actually do-able in Canada! This is a small business that is getting a lot of exposure so it was great to get such an intimate exerperience. Even if you can't cook, the amount of high quality tasty food they feed you will justify making a trip to the market to partake in their class. Although it is geared towards tourists, they type of tourist you meet here are fun and energetic as well. Good food seems to make people happy.

The Salmorejo cold soup was wonderful and is easily prepared.

If you visit Seville, take one of the Taller Andaluz de Cocina cooking classes. It will be one of the best, if not the best, memories you will have of Seville and Spain. It is more than a cooking class, it is a cultural experience. The class starts with a tour of the Mercado de Triana (Triana Food Market) given by Maria. As Anthony Bourdain often says, you can learn a lot about a city by visiting its central food market. The market includes more than a few items not typically found in American markets that will educate you on the local eating habits. You will also find a great selection of amazing Jamón (cured ham). After the tour the chef, Victor, leads a small, hands-on cooking class which includes the option of adult beverages (sangria, wine, and beer). Our lesson focused on making Paella but included Salmorejo (Andalucia classic cold tomato soup), Spinach with Chickpeas, and Lemon Sorbet with Cava for dessert. One of the great side benefits of this class is the opportunity to get the perspectives of Victor and Maria on just about any topic you want (although you will find most of the discussions are centered around food). My wife and I don't speak much Spanish, and this was a rare opportunity for us to speak with and learn from Sevillians. Additionally, we enjoyed hearing from other travelers about their experiences and plans in Spain. My wife and I were so inspired by this class that we made most of the dishes a day after we returned home to California. I made the Paella using my Weber BBQ and a new, four person Paella pan. My Paella came out great! The price of this class is very reasonable for what you get; it's a great value. I'd recommend making it one of the first things you do when visiting Seville.

    Awesome cooking class!

Mimo also has an office in San Sebastian, and after having done their pintxo tour a week earlier, we immediately signed up for this one knowing we'd be in Seville. The tour itself was awesome, as was our tour guide. She was super knowledgeable about the city and all the best places to eat. She brought us to some places and and ordered us some food that I never would have discovered on my own. It allowed us to see a side of Seville we might have otherwise missed out on! And the other people in our tour group were so nice! It was an awesome way to spend our first night in Seville. Especially since after that, we now knew the best places to go for the rest of our stay and we went back to many of them! We also had a great experience with the staff in the Mimo store (both in San Sebastian and in Seville). In Seville, my husband thought he had signed both of us up, but accidentally only signed himself up. By the time we realized the mistake, it said there was no more room online. But we went to the store early and they were able to fit me in with no problem. The woman was so nice and friendly. She even gave us recommendations for our day trip the next day to Cadiz. Highly, highly, highly recommend this to everyone. And since they don't always go to the same restaurants, I would totally do this tour again!
