They had a nice variety of cone flowers. Prices seem to be decent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They had perennial hibiscuses, very healthy looking hydrangea varieties, lavenders, clematis, elephant ear plants and a good collection of other sun and shady perennials along with annuals. Found the most pretty looking sedum plant, forgot to buy it though. All plants looked healthy. They were selling proven winners brand too.

She helped us buy the perfect hanging baskets, told us the smart way to take care of them, and cheered us on as we left to take them home! Today, we went back for Fall flowers and she did it again. Really, the whole staff is awesome, helpful, and oh-so kind. You cannot go wrong here. And their prices are terrific. For me, not the best reason to go, but the cherry on top of the otherwise already delicious experience.

We purchased 3 pallets of bluestone from Genes with the large pieces showing at the top of the…read morepallets. We spent over $1000. When the pallets were delivered and my husband started the project and opened up the pallets, what was inside the pallets was rubble, small, and some medium sized pieces. Not many large pieces - maybe 15 in all. When I called to speak to the owner he said he didn't know anything about what was in the pallets. He I saw the same thing he saw. My suggestion to him - let people know before purchasing. Put a sign up. We assume, as the owner of Genes, that he knows what he is selling to the buyer. Now we need to buy more bluestone, and I won't buy from him. I'll go buy from somewhere who deals in stone. I suggested he give us two pallets for free since most of our product was worthless and said - "I won't do that". Oh and lastly - one of the bigger pieces had already been cut around a 4x4 post.

We used this nursery not only for prices but for some very accommodating service. We ended up purchasing 30+ shrubs and trees (a good bit of money) and one of the plants died within two weeks of planting - it was the same as three others, all planted in the same place, same watering, and same sun exposure. We called to ask if we could have this one plant replaced as this clearly was a plant issue vs. a care issue (matter of fact all other plants are thriving) the manager Todd said he would not guarantee his plants, said this was a care issue, and then hung up on my wife. Tyler Hollins called me after my initial review was posted. He and his father, the president of…read moreHollins Organic Products, came out to see me and follow up on my concerns. I dug down past the level where I've been able to ameliorate the sand/clay compositon of what the "Leafgro mix" I ordered to show them what it was like. Mr. Hollins (the elder) told me that they get their topsoil when developers strip all toilsoil from sites to be developed, and sometimes it's just all clay because that was the topsoil condition where they got it. The soil is not sterilized so may contain some seeds. Mine may as well have been seeded in some sort of agricultural setting - thicker with weeds than my yard, which is saying something, and with weeds that never grew here before this dirt came. Leafgro, he said, may be sterilized by the temperatures it reaches while composting (which I suspect is the case - I've never heard of this happening with leafgro alone), but that they don't sterilize the soil because it takes all nutrients out. Well. This wasn't AT ALL clear from the product description on the website, which currently reads: "Our leafgro Soil is a special blend of our quality screened Top Soil and Leafgro to produce a high quality blend for planting and lawn use. It is our premium soil mix which provides all the organics you will need for your gardening needs." ... when, as an earlier reviewer pointed out, you do not want this in your garden if what happened to me is a possibility. For fill, sure. Not for growing. Maybe for a lawn if you don't care what you're mowing (you probably shouldn't) or if you spread invasive plants (you probably should). To my mind, it is absolutely their responsibility to tell you both that the topsoil may be all clay, and to tell you that it may also be chock full of seeds. The Hollinses offered to refund my payment, to update their website to make it less misleading, and to help me remove the old soil and replace it with something less problematic at the end of the growing season. I told them they didn't have to do all that, but they insisted, and I reiterated that clarity to future customers was my priority - gardeners have got to stick together, especially in an area rife with folks trying to make bay safe gardens full of native plants. Well, I got the check today, so I'm updating this, but the website remains unchanged. When it changes, I'll feel better - and update this again. I could really use the help getting soil in and out to fix this, and appreciate that offer, but honestly I feel weird about that on top of other stuff - or without the truth in advertising.

Since 2020, the mulch we have used has been filled with weeds leading to higher costs in lawn care. The front desk also very dishonest and pricing is ambiguous. Look elsewhere unless you want more headaches and higher prices. Topsoil is hardly topsoil- huge chunks of rocks- basically unuseable and expensive for what you receive.
