I have been going to poor boys for many years, we have purchased almost all of our many trees,…read moreshrubs, perennials, annual vegetable garden and annuals from them because I am a strong supporter of local businesses and was willing to pay the hefty prices they charge as a result. That all changed today. The older woman with short gray hair who wears a visor was so incredibly nasty to my three year old and I that I quite literally left my arm full of flowers and will not ever be returning. I know not everyone is a fan of kids, but rolling your eyes and audibly huffing when I politely asked where I could find the bathroom is not appropriate. Neither is yelling when he was trying to view the koi pond. We will (happily) by making the much longer trek to Valley View Farms for all of our (many) future plant purchases and will no longer be supporting a business who feels comfortable treating people this way. Clearly we are not the only ones that have had a run in with this woman and their ironically Poor customer service. I enjoy my annual plant purchases and I am going to keep it that way by never going here again.

I don't understand why a local family owned business would act this way, so I hope I've just been catching them at a bad time. Seems a shame that they just don't want to help customers and seem to be 'grumpy old men'. I take my business to nurserys over the PA line where they are actually nice to customers, or down into Hunt Valley or Sparks and pay the premium.

I glanced and saw it was at another employee, and he quickly said that he was listening. But he wasn't because I was already done with my explanation. Then the phone rang and a cashier told him the call was for him. He picked up the phone and began talking with them! The employees here have NEVER been helpful and most are downright rude. Someone came back to help, the only part of his name I could see was Al. He said he could cut the plywood and then the 2x6 was a different saw. When we pulled the plywood off the cart for him (small piece, not full size) he measured it then said it would have to be cut at the other saw and he asked us to follow him. He then proceeded to take off and we were left once again looking for help. Collin was spotting a forklift and stopped to help us out. He was incredibly friendly and accommodating while empathizing for what happened with the previous guy. This Home Depot is the one that has the things we need but when it comes to asking someone for help, stay away.

The drive to this place was so pleasant, it was surrounded by miles and miles of farm land and beautiful homes. It had a very small town vibe to it. I didn't get any data service in this area. They had a nice variety of cone flowers. Prices seem to be decent. Staff were very friendly and helpful. They had perennial hibiscuses, very healthy looking hydrangea varieties, lavenders, clematis, elephant ear plants and a good collection of other sun and shady perennials along with annuals. Found the most pretty looking sedum plant, forgot to buy it though. All plants looked healthy. They were selling proven winners brand too.

We popped in late this Spring and connected with Vicki, whose knowledge is incredible, and only outpaced by her obvious enjoyment in helping people. She helped us buy the perfect hanging baskets, told us the smart way to take care of them, and cheered us on as we left to take them home! Today, we went back for Fall flowers and she did it again. Really, the whole staff is awesome, helpful, and oh-so kind. You cannot go wrong here. And their prices are terrific. For me, not the best reason to go, but the cherry on top of the otherwise already delicious experience.
