My wife and I moved into this apartment unit about 6 months ago- my unit was brand new with new…read morelaminate floor, new appliances etc. It looked like someplace we could call home. Well fast forward 4 months and my wife and I were experiencing bites on our bodies at night- on further investigation we discovered that we had bed bugs. These bugs did not come from us as we bought a brand new bed/ mattress set and sofa when we moved in and it was still covered in plastic. In conversations with the superintendents we discovered that they had in fact discovered bugs in the unit before - that is why they redid the unit with new flooring etc but the unit was never sprayed prior to them offering the unit to us to rent. The superintendent was reluctant to do anything about the bedbugs and directed me to head office. I talked to head office and they finally agreed to treat the unit. The had originally expected us to stay in the unit until the pest control came and even after the treatment. I refused to stay in the bedbug infested unit and finally they agreed to compensate us for having to stay in a hotel room for 4- 5 days until we could come back into the unit. This agreement to compensate for a hotel stay was not a normal thing - it was suggested that I keep our agreement confidential. We submitted all our receipts so they could cut a check for the amount but they were very slow in getting that done. I finally resorted to subtracting the amount of the submitted receipts off my monthly rental payment They keep the outside appearance of the building nice but inside when they have to deal with issues life bedbugs they move very slow. Shortly after the bedbug issue was resolved I submitted my notice to move out.

Every month there's a new sucker that moves in. I feel bad for these people because they don't know the landlord. I ran into a tenant who just moved in and he already wants to move out. The apartment was previously rented out to a couple who smoked continuously. The smoke and smell is embedded in the apartment. Not pleasant at all. I'm very pleased to be moving out and moving on from this place.

When I called a superintendent, he said the elevator tech was coming, but when I asked for an ETA he said he didn't want to "spam" the tech with phone calls. I should have called the cops right away but he said it was 2-3 minutes. This ended up being 30 minutes. No air. One lady had a cane, another was clearly sweating as well. When we got out we found out from the superintendent that the fan in the elevator only works while the elevator is in motion. It's the middle of summer! It was 30 degrees Celsius today! This elevator is constantly under repair and every time they "fix" it, something else happens. We were running out of oxygen for god sakes! This company also fucked up my rent when I first moved in to Charlotte towers as a transfer from another AON location. We even made voice recordings of how belittling their staff can be with this subject. They are so bad at math, when they figured out all their number were at zero, we actually still owed them money, but they never figured it out. We were called back to office several times for micro payments until I made one of the clerks sign my recipient in ink. We still owed them money after this, but they stopped asking. And don't even try putting a work order in for your unit, cause the maintenance guys must have got stuck in the elevator too. They took 3 weeks. 3 weeks before I could have a working door for the master bedroom.

If I could give less than 1 star I would. Alket Kulla is dishonest and behaves like a bully. He was…read morerenting his own property under the guise of ReMax, so I thought he would be legit. He upped the cost of the rent by $95/ month between the time he discussed the property, showed it and sent the lease agreement. He strung students along over 2 weeks, involving each family as cosigners. He illegally charges $200 key deposit for each room (=$800 total!) when right in the lease it says key deposit should be equal to value of the key. Any real estate agent knows this is illegal. Stay away from this guy. I deeply regret dealing with him. I have never written a negative review, but felt I had to warn others.
