I was diagnosed disabled due to many of these issues and have recently been forced to use Medicare. I purchased additional insurance knowing I would still have continued issues concerning my conditions. I suffered from an episode of stoke like symptoms on Sunday. I have had them in the past and have recovered from them after a couple of days assistance from my pcp and er department. I noticed, however, my condition was not exactly the same as in the past. I tried to just go to my pcp but is out of the office due to the holiday. Since I've been admitted before to help gain my ability to walk and talk as well as adjust my meds,I opted for the meadville Medical center to treat my condition. Unable to drive, I requested ambulatory services to transport me there. I was taken to meadville er where my treatment began. Keeping in mind that I've experienced stroke like symptoms and am still unable to walk at all without physical assistance. I am still suffering from a massive migraine that has been going on for several months after doctors thought it was stabilized. They only had a physician's assistant review my care. After having a small IV started and the migraine cocktail they give for migraine headaches ,my IV began to burn and give me excruciating pain. The nurse never acknowledged the situation. My migraine intensified. After blood tests came out fine they said they were sending me home as is. Mind you i'm not able to talk well, or even walk alone. I wasn't given a Walker or instructions on how to go about dealing with this issue alone. So in the end, I was just given two doses of migraine cocktail that they think I'm allergic to,no way to care for myself, and said oh by the way, you owe us a copay also. Word to the wise, remember you get what the government thinks you're worth and the hospital just follows along like you're a statistic.

Spot on and appropriately interventional. The CNA's were gentle and kind to her, respectful and so hardworking. Even the agency staff did good jobs, following the lead of the regular staff. I visited nearly every day, my brother visited every evening. (So, believe me, we didn't miss much) The food was sometimes great, sometimes institutional but delivered with smiles and offers to bring whatever they could to please the patient. The facility needs a facelift, painting, renewed. But that's on the owners, not the staff. The actual caregivers were far above average. Mom was kept clean. Her room was small and corporate owners need to invest $$ in the bland courtyard. My MIL is in a premier nursing home in Greenville where everything is constantly being beautified. If Kadima ever would put $$ into this facility, it would never have an empty bed because of the staff. Mom's care was every bit as good as my MILs. There are no odors, the bathrooms (while old are worn)were kept so clean!(great housekeeping staff too) We dealt with every facet of this facility from billing (wonderful and professional) to administration (always willing to address concerns) to activities (super) to therapy (always going the extra mile) to maintenance (friendly and very hardworking). Mom was spoken to with respect and kindness. She was cared for with gentleness. By every staff member we encountered. None were found lacking. I would choose Kadima again. As mom became sicker, the compassion shown our family was over the top.

We are one of the last nursing homes in Merçer county that does not have the virus. Gr.eat place to…read morelive and work.
