Within a few weeks damp started to appear in one bedroom and water started to leak through the ceiling of another bedroom to the point they had a bucket catching the water on the bedroom floor. Maintenance calls were logged via the website, email sent and phones calls made but no one replied or turned up for weeks then when a contractor turned up they said they couldn't do it and it was again a number of weeks until a temporary repair was done. By this time the bedrooms were both very damp with mould appearing on the walls and Brand Vaughen would not arrange for this to be cleaned or painted. Then after the girls moved out last term they were charged £700 for deep cleaning and painting of damp walls despite telling Brand Vaughen numerous times it needed to be cleaned and painted due to the leaks in the property. Also when the rent was sent short by mistake for a few hundred pounds all 4 parents that were guarantors when emailed with in 2hours of the mistake pity they couldn't respond this quick to faults and issues being reported. Brand Vaughen Student lettings just want to take the money and do as little as possible to help these youngsters being away from home. STAY AWAY

They were able to show it to us on short notice, and the realtor we worked with was very nice, and really helpful. Unfortunately, we discovered soon after that the house had serious problems with internet connectivity. None of the broadband providers served this house, not even the local Wireless provider Kijoma. Eventually BT said we could put in multiple ADSL lines and bond them, for a mediocre but functional connection. So we applied to rent the house and paid the rather exorbitant amount of £300 for referencing (which vastly exceeds what any competitors we looked at charged). Only after paying and finishing our referencing, did BT finally get back to us to inform us that they couldn't bond lines for us after all, as there wasn't enough copper, and it would take quite a few weeks to determine if new lines could be drawn to the box. This meant we had to withdraw our application, as we work from home and would get fired if we lost our connection. Henry Adams refused to refund our £300, saying that we knew there would be internet problems. However, they NEVER disclosed any issues with internet access, we happened to discover it on our own before applying. They would have said nothing if we hadn't found out on our own. And then BT falsely claimed we would be able to get multiple lines, only to tell us a week later, after we'd paid, that it wasn't possible. With high speed internet being a very basic utility in 2015, I feel that Henry Adams should have taken steps to confirm the nature of the connection at the house, through BT if necessary, and that this should be disclosed to tenants before they sign a contract and lose money. We ended up having to move elsewhere, after having already invested £300 and over 20 hours on the phone with various companies trying to figure out the situation at this house. Not cool.

Initially we were very impressed with the service from HA both Hannah Brock and Craig Radford communicated with us regularly however we are now only reasonably happy. Communication between the tenants and us does not exist as we choose to remain anonymous dealing solely with the agents. This unfortunately has led to confusion and/or misunderstandings. This was especially so in the early stages when curtains and blinds needed to be installed after the tenants moved in, also just this month after meeting the letting manager Martin Roffey on an entirely separate matter we were informed that there had been an issue with regard to the dishwasher and we were facing a possible bill for £40. Had we been informed by the agents of the issue as soon as it occurred it could have been resolved more satisfactorily. This issue is still outstanding. Also the agent said that the six month inspection had not been done but was due soon. It was done soon after, I will give HA 'the benefit of doubt' with regard to whether it was us that prompted this inspection or it was already planned to be done. Now that the inspection has been done by Gaynor Mitchell we are extremely satisfied with the findings in her report. Again on the positive side we receive the statement on the same day as the rent is paid which is always on due day and the funds are in our account within 2 - 3 days. HA have kept us informed with the tenant's request to keep a dog which is still being negotiated by the three parties. Hopefully this will be resolved ASAP. There is a distinct possibility that we may make the garden maintenence free sometime this year which again will have to be negotiated through HA.

They put in a lot of effort to guide the sale through keeping both parties and solicitors informed at every stage. In both cases our sales went through quickly and to good genuine buyers. On the purchase side, they are one of very few agents in Eastbourne who actually listen to what you want. They do not waste time sending details of properties you don't want. They focus on finding exactly what you want. As with selling, they guide the whole buying process through and kept us informed along the way. The whole team are friendly and approachable unlike many other Eastbourne agents who come across as arrogant and uncaring. My advice to all buyers and sellers alike - if you possibly can use Leaper Stanbrook every time. Thank you to all the team for for helping us achieve another trouble free sale.

I really wanted to give this 1 star, but decided on 2 stars because the agent sounded friendly on…read morethe phone (and I'm feeling a tad magnanimous) The reality was a huge let down. He was clueless about prices although it is a central aspect of his job, and particularly as he had turned up to give a valuation. I'd already had 3 agents in before him, and he was £30K out! That's huge in anyone's books! Coincidentally, he valued it at the stamp duty threshold this smacks of laziness, indifference and greed. His behaviour did nothing to allay the reputation that hangs around estate agents, very much like a bad smell. He was hectoring, disrespectful, lacking vision and indifferent to my needs as a seller. It constantly surprises me when I encounter estate agents who have no consideration for the intense emotional cost that is often involved in selling and moving from one's home. It's not just a pile of bricks but can represent someone's dreams and hopes. Mr Leaper Stanbrook was frighteningly indifferent to that. He, moreover, tried to shame me into dropping the price, by making snide comments about things such as the 'state of the woodwork in the hallway'. He did this I believe in order to fulfill his avaricious agenda, which is to make a quick sale, and shows a shocking lack of morality. I really would recommend that you look elsewhere for a decent estate agent. There are others in Eastbourne who would do a better and more respectful job.

They are a smaller organisation than the big high street ones so you get a bit more of a friendly and honest service. There's nothing more annoying than an estate agent turning up in his BMW, covered in hair gel to show you a shoe box that doesn't in anyway fit the description of what you're looking for. These guys really take the time to show you around places that may actually interest you and don't do the whole 'hard sell' thing afterwards. This is how we found our home anyway
