She then said ummm well no as i have another client coming in half hour. The weirdest experience ever. I had mentioned in had kids at school. So she goes you could come back at 3pm and i could try and do a cut then... i literally just said i have kids at school - so you know they will finish at 3pm. I didn't say that out aloud i just had no choice but to walk out! I was in shock. I thought from the outside this place looked pretty decent, fancy - but seriously HAIR GALLERY owners you need to get better staff. Staff that actually want to be hairdressers!

Once I was seated and a two second conversation the hairdresser disappeared to chat with her friend for a good five minutes. Once she returned my fringe was cut way too short (despite specific instructions) and in what appears to be two sections of different lengths. I now have to pin it back every day until it grows. The rest of my hair was ok but it didn't enhance my natural curl or do anything to complement its shape. Definitely won't be going back.

They also happened to post a photo of a model with hair the colour I wanted, so I made an appointment for a tidy-up to take them for a test drive before I committed. Jacob was a doll, and very talented with styling. He wasn't afraid to give me the short fringe I asked for (I am exhausted by hairdressers who refuse to do what I want (apologies for my privileged tantrum)) and was super easy to chat with, which is good, because awkward conversations are one of my most dreaded things about visits. I was stoked with my cut, so booked in for a few weeks later for the crazy colour I wanted. Had Jacob managed to achieve my dream hair, this would probably be a five star rating. He didn't quite hit the nail on the head (to be fair, it was a kind of quirky colour) but I hung out at Sfumato for FIVE HOURS that day while we got as close as we possibly could. That deserves merit (on both our parts, really) and I'm more than happy to give them another chance. Sooner rather than later, to be honest, as these mousy-brown roots are starting to become prominent...

I got my nails done yesterday at this nail salon at Eastlands shopping centre. The man who did my…read morenails was clearly unwell, constantly coughing and sneezing, and though he wore a mask, it was clear he should not have been working so closely with customers. He also did a horrible job. First he upsold me the acrylics which I repeatedly said I didn't want but due to a language barrier, became difficult to understand and I thought he was giving me gels. He did not attend to the cuticles or filing of the nails well at all- I could've done a better job. There are all sorts of mistakes on the nails themselves- areas where the polish is missing or not applied properly, lots of extra polish around the sides of the nails and my fingers (which won't come off no matter how hard I scrub) and just a general badly inconsistent job of application. I was charged $45 for this mess and I will never go back there. I do not recommend this place!!
