Lovely restaurant that sits alongside the Rambla with great food and service. The sweet woman who recently started this restaurant cares so much about the dining experience.
We sat outside for a glass or two of fresh made sangria while having a few Catalan tapas for a little American Happy Hour. This was not the intended place to stop that afternoon but because of the menu posted outside with all the great pictures, it caught my eye. I was quickly approached by the owner, but in a friendly way, encouraging me to take a seat. Hey, it worked, because I did.
We never felt rushed to order and we made the first move with a glass of red sangria. It was a full wine glass with a fresh slice of lemon and orange. No cheap fillers, just wine! After looking through the menu, some true Catalan dished had to be ordered and I can really appreciate that not only were there great pictures of every item, they also had English printed under each one. Pescaditos Fritos (small fried fish) were a shareable portion and even with the heads still on them, they were not too greasy and the seasoning was perfect. As a usual choice we try at every tapas restaurant, the Pan con Tomato (tomato toast) was very good. The bread was a little crispy but so fresh and had a nice amount of tomato topping with chunky salt on the side. Also very shareable.
I loved the outside umbrella covered seating and the food was very good. I will definitely come back again to sample some more tapas from this very good restaurant. read more
