This place is awesome! Stop wasting time reading this and just go there now…read more But if you're still reading... The atmosphere is small and cozy and fills up fast. i was there on a Wednesday and the only seating available was at the bar (which is comfy and has great service). When you walk in there is a fresh fish case by the door and I will have to try some next time--even though I am not the biggest fish person, I have confidence that I would enjoy what they do with it. I had the house red to drink which was good as a plain ol' house wine. I also had the papas bravas which were perfectly fried and came with a generous dollop of pleasantly sharp garlic aioli. I also ordered the mixed green salad which was very fresh and came with marinated artichoke, olives, tomato, cucumber and green pepper. The dressing was an awesome, zesty vinaigrette (and there wasn't too much of it as many German restaurants tend to drown their salad.) For my main, I ordered the pollo al ajillo. In a word: crave-able. It was about a 1/4 chicken that was cut into smaller pieces and fried. The garlic sauce was pungent in the best way and wine-like. Yet, I actually didn't leave with garlic breath. A word about the service: some of the best I've experienced yet. There were 2 very nice ladies at the bar that were patient with my bad German, efficient and paid attention to details. One waitress even noticed that my husband had ordered a pork dish that came with potatoes and asked if he would like to have a salad instead (he didn't, he loves potatoes :) ) This is a great place for a relaxed night of great food, and, considering that it is within walking distance from my house, I will become a regular here.

The food was OK, I mean I've had much better, but it seems that this place is loved by the complete Spanish community (me being an exception) in Stuttgart and it is always full to the top. The experience was pretty poor as the waitress was quite rude, and we did have a couple of reasons to complain: A Radler that was 98% beer and 2% sprite Not having 3 of the dishes in the menu, and not saying that in beforehand Bringing one of the dishes too late (I mean, we were all finished when it arrived) Very rude waitress (complained about every comment that we did) And my girlfriend did not like her fish so she just ate a bit of it leaving the rest. The waitress asked why? She said that it was dry and too oily. A minute later, you see the owner shouting to us, crushing the fish with his hand and asking: Does this look dry to you?!!!! And left. Thank to Er Vaquita I had the worst visit to a restaurant I have ever had, and I guess I will ever have. Reading all the reviews above, the people love the food, but that behavior is shameful. And he might not know it, but he in his restaurant, represent our country: Spain, and I am ashamed of that co-national. As decent people, we paid. Ironically, we paid to get insulted. By the way, why can't I give 0 stars?

I chose a seat at the bar table the server was very friendly. He gave me lots of recommendations and explained to me which one would have more flavors and which ones he liked, I went with grilled prawns + grilled calamari. Then he gave me a huge basket of bread, a side of salad and those two grilled perfections. I love the char that grill haves to seafood, butter and herbs would bring the flavors to another level, last but not least, the lemon will break down all the grease and make you remember this forever. It was truly a pleasure to taste this during my stay in this town. I noticed the bartender was doing some origami since he wasnt busy, then when I was about to leave, my server told me "free shot on the house" and gave me this shot served on this beautiful flower napkin that the bartender folded!! This is legit the cutest thing ever and I really fell in love with the friendly atmosphere in this restaurant. One day if I'm back to this city, I will 10000% come back here and try more dishes. Thank u Cortijo!

I've been here twice now, had the pork medallions and the rabbit leg. Both were excellent. I think when I go again I will have the lamb. Wish I could relax inside, it looks like it had very nice atmosphere and the staff was very nice for the brief time we spoke. The first time the manager came outside and spoke with my colleague and I while we waited for our food to be prepared. He spoke of his love for basketball. It was very thrilling to see someone passionate about an American sport. He was a pleasure to speak with. Tonight my coworker spoke with the hostess while I retrieved the vehicle. He said that she was very nice to speak with as well. Hopefully the manager we spoke with will remember someday when we spoke and have a shot with us like he spoke of that evening! That is when it isn't a 10K Euro fine for doing so.

After ordering drinks and food, we waited 30min to receive our drinks...after one hour from ordering our appetizer, it finally arrived but it was VERY small and cold...5min after receiving our appetizer, we already got the main course, so we think that they honestly just forgot about our appetizers. I had a rib eye steak with beans and mashed potatoes. The steak was very tough and the mashed potatoes were not made from scratch At least the beans tasted good. My boyfriend had beef but was only served 3 little slices, aside of little vegetables and a small portion of mashed potatoes for the price of €26. He said it was ok but he didn't get stuffed from the meal and thought the price was too high. We will for sure not return to the restaurant and cannot suggest it to anybody.
