So yeah, this school's field and track area are huge and offer some decent places to play around when we have a few inches of snow. It's mostly flat, but there are a few declines to slide (or fall down, if you're like me). My children have benefited from the attention they give to their students and the expectations they set, both behaviorally and academically. The teachers work very well with parents and go above and beyond to ensure that each child is successful. The program is fun for the children as they learn social and behavioral skills needed when they begin kindergarten. Their teaching techniques are research based and the wealth of curriculum they incorporate exceeds basic letter and number recognition. Their services are free and they are usually friendly. If you wanted to start a garden but don't know where to begin or how to maintain it don't worry, just call the county extension office every month to see what you should be doing for your plants. :) They'll advise you, help you understand how to do those things, and then you can call back for more help later. Want to plant a window herb garden in your apartment, no problem they can help. They are also the organizers of the Master Gardener program which has a large demonstration garden available all year, with 21 different gardens including more than 500 roses in the rose garden, vegetable and flower gardens, compost bins (my favorite), fish pond (in season) and more.
