Coffee was decent, cheaper than if you get a touristy cafe. Cappucino was very rich and milky with nice layer of foam on top. Chilaquiles were good, and tacos were very good as well. Easily the best meal of our trip, and one of the least expensive. It was our last night in town and our budgets were tight. I searched Yelp for a good option that wouldn't break the bank, and just as I was passing the tantalizing smells of La Riviera Costena the location popped up on my app. We ascended the stairs and made our order off the extensive menu, but the walk-up pastor spit had us intrigued, we definitely had to try the taco deal. My friend and I each got the five tacos (he had to finish mine, they're small but stuffed!) and we shared a queso fundito and a horchata. Every bite was delicious. The horchata was refreshing and tasty. It's hard to find BAD food in Tulum, but the more touristy areas definitely have food that's less amazing. La Riviera Costena is right in the middle of the main street in town and does not disappoint. The one downside is there's no beer or alcohol served here--but that's a small price to pay for the incredible, affordable food.
