This particular truck is especially shady looking. I am sorry, but that is just how I feel. I had stopped once before and stood in line to order. My nervousness got the best of me when I was watching the crew working and I left without ordering. It took Thomas's review to finally pull me in for a meal. I am glad that I got over it because it was great! I ordered a Rib Plate and some Smoked wings. I was taken care of by "Mrs. Jessie B" and what appeared to be either her young daughter or possible granddaughter (don't get mad at me Mrs. JB if you read this and you are too young for grandchildren). They were extremely pleasant and worked quickly to prepare my order. The proteins are cooked/smoked on a big grill set up right next to the truck. They had a guy out there tending to it and pulling orders as they came in. Huge pillars of smoke bellowed out every time he opened the grill. He called some people over to check out what he had going on over there. They looked impressed. I was watching timidly because I am weird and all. I get my food and head to the house. My car smelled fantastic on the drive. Upon opening the boxes I was pleased to see some awesome looking and smelling food. The ribs were great, tender, smoky, meaty, perfection! The sauce was homemade, I am sure of it. You can see the seeds in the sauce and it is just the right thickness. These were in the top 10 ribs of my life and certainly worth many repeat visits. I could go on and on, but... The wings had a great flavor. I had them without the "sauce" they offered because I wanted to try them without anything so I could judge them solely on the rub and the smoke. I love to smoke my own wings and these were pretty close to some of my best attempts. My only minor complaint on any of the food is that they could have been cooked a little longer. In my opinion, they were a little under done. They were fully cooked, but still a little too juicy for me. This was nothing a 10 minute run through a 392 degree oven couldn't fix. While I ate my ribs I let the wings finish off in the oven. I swore I was going to save my wife some as she was with the kids and dress rehearsal for dance. I wanted her to try this stuff because it was so good. That almost happened... I think she a got a wing and some slaw (only because I don't eat it). I had consumed everything else in a fat man rage. I honestly still can't believe how tasty it was because I honestly don't like bbq normally. The barbecue melted in my mouth and the chicken was so succulent I couldn't stop eating it. Also when they say half a chicken they mean it. The rice and gravy was soo soo soo good. I've never had fried cabbage and was surprised how much I liked that as well. It was incredibly good though I'm sure it was also terribly unhealthy hahah. The ribs were good but they were too hard to eat. Every plate is a ton of food. Normally it's $12 a plate but on Sundays it's only $8. Also the owner says he does different themes each Sunday and next time he does a theme will be Chinese.
