Ok so been craving Mexican while being in Europe. We all know Mexican food generally sucks or doesn't exists over here. Last night here in Vienna went to Taqueria los Mexikas. What a wonderful surprise. Now it wasn't that super authentic Mexican but it was as close as your gonna get in Europe. The chips and salsa and guacamole and refried beans were on point. I have a veggie quesadilla and it was very good too. Have to give them 4 stars as this is europe. read more

Just like the other reviewers are saying best Mexican food in the area. They also have a sister restaurant in Bratislava if you are in the area and crave some good Mexican food. The place is small so if you want indoor seating you should make a reservation. We all enjoyed the food so much! Michelada to start with the frijole soup and the enchilada verdes. Delicious! I'm not sure why my previous review and pictures vanished, but alas, I get to enjoy the experience all over again :)! Bar none the BEST Mexican place in the city. If you think you know a better one, let me know. I really find it hard to believe that there is one to be honest. # Tacos de bistec con chorizo # Best, thing, ever! I've had this a dozen times and only once was the meat a little chewy. Otherwise very nice and soft, flavourful, cheesy, spicy, lemony, salsa'y, maaaggggiiiccccc'y. Other things are great. But I don't think I will ever have anything different. Oh and the Mojitos! This is the only place I came across that can actually make one. Yes I've been to Pancho, Mas!, they are all terrible in comparison. Price is spot on too! Too much authentic care goes into each dish here. read more

I'm happy to see that there is a Taqueria Los Mexicas right here in the neighborhood! I happened to have stumbled upon it during one of my walks around the area. I'm not going to write a long review here, since it's going to be the same thing that I wrote about the other Los Mexikas in the 8th district. I want to say that the food is excellent, the service is great, and now the location for me is convenient! I had the nachos con pollo (chicken nachos), and the enchiladas verdes (green chili enchiladas). The latter, just like the last time at the other location, was flavorful and very spicy, and also reminded me of certain green chili dishes from New Mexico or the US Southwest. Just like the other location, it is a small restaurant, so it behooves one to either make a reservation, or just go during off-peak hours. Even then, they are still doing well with their business so it can get crowded then. ¡Disfrute la comida! read more

The Los Mexikas is a great Mexican restaurant right in the center of Vienna. It serves delicious traditional Mexican food and drinks. The taste of the dishes is authentic and the interior of the restaurant has this coloful Mexican flair/atmosphere. The restaurant is not to big, but cosy and if the weather is right you can also sit in the patio of the restaurant. The prices at Los Mexikas are reasonable and the staff is very friendly and with Mexican roots, so you can speak Spanish with them as well. My Mexican friends also told me that this restaurant is their favorite in Vienna, since it offers the most authentic Mexican food for a reasonable price. The only reason I am not giving 5 stars is for the lacking air conditioning - I was here in summer with +38 outside. Sitting inside was like burning in HELL... Believe it or not, there IS good Mexican food in Vienna, Austria. I absolutely LOVED Los Mexikas. I am studying here this semester from Texas and this little taste of Mexican food almost made me feel like I was at home! The verde enchiladas were delicious and spicy (which I loved). The owner was so sweet to us and helped my friends and I read the menu/decide what to get. Cash only and it was a tad on the pricey side (10-14 Euros per plate, 10 Euros for a Margarita), but when you're craving Mexican food in Vienna, this is the place to come! read more

I am not exactly sure how I found Los Mexikas, but I'm glad I did. The owner Mauricio Aceves Omana and his staff are from Mexico and make some of the best authentic Mexican food I've ever had. I was able to go to their spot in the eighth district and sat inside, surrounded by colorful walls and cultural decorations. The staff and servers I interacted with were friendly and had nice smiles, and made the effort to explain to me their meals in English. Yet even with two locations, this place is popular and seats fills up fast, so reservations are recommended. Los Mexikas provides a fun drink menu with Mexican beer, cocktails, wines and non-alcoholic drinks. Me and my family got to enjoy some yummy piña coladas, and we had large appetites so we decided to start our meals with their nachos. We got the nachos with cheese (Nachos con Queso) with salsa, bean paste, topped with avocado. But what everyone fought for (including myself) was getting as much of the creamy white cheese on their chip as possible. For a party of 4, this appetizer was enough for us, considering we had big meals ahead. However if you're a larger group I suggest you all invest in sharing their Nachos Tower (called Botana Los Mexikas) which has a variety of salad dips and spicy sausage. My favorite meal at Los Mexikas is the Enchiladas verdes -- corn tortillas filled with chicken, lettuce, tomato, sheep cheese, onion, and sour cream, sitting in a spicy green sauce I couldn't get enough of. My meal was excellent, and is my go-to dinner every time I visit this restaurant (yes, I've already been here many times!). I've also had their tacos with chicken which was also very good. Not to mention, what I also like about their meals is the amount of vegetables they put on top -- they add a hefty serving of lettuce which I'm totally cool with. My husband says this is the kind of food he'd like to eat after a good workout. We were looking for decent Mexican food and really liked this restaurant a lot. My husband ordered the Enchiladas rojas and I ordered the Gringa vegetariana - both were very good and we don't have any complaints. The service was very good and the atmosphere was also nice - relatively quiet as we were there on a weekday during lunchtime. The reason for four stars rather than five is due to the fact that the food was not exceptional per say, but it was definitely good and we will surely be returning to try other dishes! read more

Wow excellent Mexican food. Surprise to find in Vienna. Have tried a few places in Canada but it's hit or miss the style of cooking. This is what I have been looking for, fresh flavored, homemade taste and not too heavy. Some Mexican restos have the meat well cooked, shredded and oily-this is not what I'm looking for as it tastes delicious but not too healthy. This restaurant had lightly oiled or sautéed meat in their Dishes. Great price average 10 euro per entrees which is enough to fill oneself. we tried soft taco pollo and a salad with meat served in corn bread-loved the bread. Cannot recall the names of actual dishes. Menu in German and Spanish? But don't worry there are pictures in the menu to help you order. Service was fast, friendly, not too busy on Monday evening. Only downside no wifi. read more
