Had two Al-pastor and one asada. very fresh and flavorful tacos. The grilled jalapeño was seasoned well, would like a bit more cooked, but went well with the dish. The salsas were also very tasty and help round out the flavor of the tacos, my biggest complaint was the serving size v. The cost. The servers were also friendly. It was a bit pricey, but this shouldn't deter you from giving this place a try. read more

My boyfriend and I discovered this place on a whim one day in Enid. It's now a must-go anytime we are in town. I've always had the taco platter, which comes with rice and beans. The beans are topped with shredded cheese and are quite flavorful. The tacos are served in two tortillas and are loaded to the brim with meat, so the three tacos are filling. The tortillas are warmed on the griddle first, so they bring something to the meal as well. The nice thing in the COVID era is that the salsa bar items are now pre-packaged. We love the cochinita pibil served here -- extremely flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely authentic. If you've stumbled into Octavio's seeking Tex-Mex, well, you need to try again, cookie. It's been nearly a year since my husband and I stopped here on a trip, but it's been on our minds ever since. So much so that we're discussing a four hour round trip in the name of tacos. We tried every taco meat option available and were pleased with all. Cochinita pibil (a Yucatán pulled pork flavored with annatto and orange) can be hard to find, and many places don't offer chorizo con papa. Bear in mind, please, that my husband is from central Mexico and we spend a respectable amount of time there... i.e. we came looking for authentic tacos, and we found them. Even the tortillas were good. Salsa was appropriately spicy, and chiles toreados were provided. If you're looking for tex mex, move along. If you're searching for a six page menu with every possible combination plate made with crunchy tacos, ground beef, and enchiladas, keep looking. If you somehow truly believe that queso is the mark of a real taqueria, I don't even know where to start with you. This earned the picky man's stamp of approval. Now go eat some tacos! read more

This place never disappoints, the food is fantastic, the service is super friendly, and I always recommend it as my number one place to eat in Enid. Since I have already written extensively one this place, here are a few tips... 1) You can't go wrong with your choice of food. 2) If you ever see a jar of cookies by the register, for the love of all things be good to yourself and buy one. They make them fresh in house and I have no earthly idea what they are called, but that is one of the best cookie I (and my extremely judgmental-of-baked-goods-mother) have ever had. EVER. 3) If its Friday and you're a good Catholic, a vegetarian, or just a foodie, order the fish tacos. 4) Closed on Mondays! Spare yourself the heartbreak and plan ahead... First off the staff was SO friendly and answered any and all of our questions. Second, this place is military friendly and offers a discount which I think is stellar! And the food was good! I loved their tamales; their tacos were okay. I didn't enjoy the Al Pastor or the beef cheek, but I did like that ordering avocado they put generous slices on everything. This has to be the most flavorless and bland Mexican food I have ever had in my entire life. Had the Taco Plate. Three El Pastor tacos with rice and beans. The El Pastor taste like it has sugar added to it with absolutley zero flavor except sweet...not seasoned pork at all. The beans are bland and the rice tasted like instant...again with no flavor. I don't know what to call this type of food, but Mexican, it is not. The people were friendly and the service was good. My wife had the Pollo tacos and she liked them. HUGE disappointment. I was really looking forward to enjoying real Mexican food and by the previous reviews,I thought that's what I would get. However,it was the exact opposite. First, they don't even serve Queso? That was a first for me and I eat A LOT of Mexican. Second, they charge you 3.99 + tax for chips and salsa. The salsa was freezing cold as well as watered down & the chips looked to be from "Tosito" chip company,straight from a bag. Complete rip off! Third, we ordered the quesadilla because you ONLY have 6 things to choose from on the menu. When we got them,it was pretty much like a quesadilla you make at home. Slap some mozzarella cheese,add onions,and chicken and voila,you have a quesadilla. Not to mention,it was very greasy & just not good. Last but not least, the table was swarming with baby ants. I couldn't even enjoy sitting at the table without trying to kill an ant. Needless to say, we asked for our money back & took our appetite somewhere else. Take the best things about a taco truck and put them in a cafe and you have Octavio Taqueria! We had the street taco meal, 3 tacos with beans and rice. The beans and rice were seasoned well and the tacos were moist and juicy. The menu is limited just like you'd find on the truck, yet everything is made well and tasty. It was good! I'm fairly confident that the place is family owned; I liked when I came in and a little girl, probably about 12, took my order and her mom (I think) prepared the tacos. Made the place feel more welcoming, like having lunch at a friends house. The food was authentic and delicious; I had two beef tacos with lots of cilantro. But there was quite a few people in line for lunch so that was a good sign :-) While waiting in line, I googled the "cochinita pibil" from the menu which turned out to be a slow roasted pork dish. The steak, chicken, and pork tacos all had great flavor. Each had fresh toppings of cilantro, onion, and hot sauce. The cook asked if wanted mild or hot sauce. Hot was pretty mild but very tasty. The rice was a little bland but the beans rocked! Tasted fresh and homemade like had been simmering on the stove all day. At the condiment bar, there is a green and red salsa. The green salsa was full flavored with hints of lime. The red salsa tasted a bit burnt or ashy- definitely not as smooth as the green. I love Octavio's. More of an authentic Mexican place. I usually get the lengua or tongue burrito. I was hesitant to try it, but since I have it's my favorite! The texture is like that of pot roast or roast beef, just moist and tender. You choose the meat you want then choose how you want it...quesadilla, burrito, taco, etc. I like to add avocado to mine. Octavio's is the pride of Enid. Their tortas could start their own religion. I would invite the cooks to my wedding and even invite them to give a toast, if they could speak English.
