I had very high hopes for tarantellis but it wasn't as good as I hoped. For an appetizer we got mussels which was very good especially if you dip the bread in the sauce. I got the gnocchi which I regret because it wasn't as buttery as I hoped it was mostly just a caramelized onion taste. My bf got the Filetto Di Bue Alla Da Vinci which he loved and said it was one of the best things he's ever tasted. The potatoes that it came with were better than my gnocchi in and the mushrooms and asparagus were a perfect 10/10. I come to Tarantelli's to celebrate special occasions or have visiting guests. Reservations are highly recommended. Everything I've had on the menu is so good. If it's your first time at Tarantelli's, I highly recommend getting the cheese wheel pasta with meatballs! It's a nice experience seeing it being made and tastes rich & cheesy! I was underwhelmed by the whole experience. Ambiance casual, tables and chairs and the way they are arranged remind cafeteria of sort. Food was just ok, the only thing we ordered that was tasty appetizer with filet mignon ( but a bit over salted). Expensive for what it offers. There are many more restaurants in Wilmington that have delicious, creative food and a fun vibe. Don't plan to come back. read more

Really good! Large restaurant with plenty of seating, smelled like steak as you walk through the door! We had the Pappardelle Al Funghi and it was fantastic! Some small clumps of the wide pappardelle did make it onto the plate that were under cooked (not al dente) but the sauce was excellent and the mushrooms were tender and flavorful. Bread they serve is quite good and wine list is very nice. Will definitely be back to try more menu items!! read more

So we asked for a table for 2 and they told us it would be a 40 minute wait. We couldn't sit at the bar because that was being seated as well. I It would have been okay but when we'd checked on the website they were open for reservations- WOW! We're local and refer business to them a lot! They absolutely had no remorse or a good excuse why the restaurant was empty! CRAZY!! read more

So what is happening to our favorite Italian restaurant? 05/20/23 630pm reservation which we have had for a month. We were greeted by two girls as the hosts. It was a really special night my wife's birthday and I requested the corner booth which I always do for special occasions. When we arrived the girls were rude like they were doing us a favor and letting us eat there. We arrived 11 min early and they told us to wait at the bar until 630pm. So we just sat down at the entrance and I noticed that booth was available and was available all night until we left. People were coming in who had no idea that this restaurant is always booked and walk ins won't get seated and I listened to them talk to these people like they were idiots to even dare walk into their restaurant?? They then started to seat two couples who had 630pm reservation and just walked in the door?? Meanwhile we were sitting there for 11 min. There was another party waiting and the wife said why are they so rude to the customers. I worked in high end restaurants in Manhattan as manager and you have to make sure the hostess or host isn't on a power trip because this is a hard Resturant to get into. These girls were on a crazy power trip.This person is your frontline meet and greet. There was a third girl there working with them and they just ignored her and talked about her like she wasn't standing there.It was obvious she was upset. This totally spoiled our night. Now they are putting a mandatory percentage on the bill for the kitchen staff ? 18 years working in Manhattan and I've never seen this. Our waiter was great and we get him a lot. The food was really good as always. Bathroom was dirty which was a surprise. Sorry I'm not happy and won't be returning for a while. If I was a owner or manager I would watch these girls because they are horribly representing this restaurant and probably put on a good show when management is around. read more

A great spot for some truly tasty Italian food! We stopped in after not being able to get a table at another Italian spot in the area, had a short wait to be seated. We started with the filet mignon bruschetta- and I would highly recommend it! The steak was perfectly cooked and after all the sauce soaks in the bruschetta, it's a perfect bite. My entree was the Gamberi Fradiavlo- and the shrimp were truly jumbo. We finished our delicious meal with a order of lemon blueberry zeppoles to go. The server was pretty busy but was very helpful and made great recommendations. Definitely worth a trip if you are visiting Wilmington! read more

Dined here with my family (6 adults, 3 kids) for my birthday. Our reservations were for indoors, but due to Covid and the temperature was somewhat mild, they graciously set a large table outside (with a heat lamp). We ordered a variety of dishes and every one was delicious. Pastas are homemade and tender. The sauces are indescribable. The fish special was flounder and roasted vegetables over linguini with a lemon sauce (fresh small lemon slices!). Enough for 2 meals. Rigatoni in cream sauce (the best ever) with prosciutto was possibly the favorite. Linguini and clams - many fresh clams and yummy! The kid portions come in slightly smaller bowls but are still quite large. The wait staff are informed, professional and very attentive. My wife and I used to love this place but the last few times have been disappointing. Very long wait for food (which hasn't been as good lately), place seems a bit disorganized and pretty pricy. The last time we were there my wife wanted pizza and we were told that the person who makes the pizza didn't come in so it was unavailable. My wife ordered something else and 20 minutes later we see a pizza being brought out for another table! I'm hoping they get the quality back up to where it was. read more

A brilliant, true Italian restaurant. I grew up in an Italian neighborhood in New Jersey and I haven't eaten food this good since I lived there. The food was fantastic, the atmosphere was wonderful and service was flawless. Our server, Logan, was on point from start to finish. We went there to celebrate our anniversary and it was the best restaurant in all of Wilmington by far. We will unquestionably be returning. Loved it. read more

Moved from NJ to the Wilmington area 9 mos ago. Was looking for a good Italian Restaurant and found Tarantelli's on Yelp. The reviews were spot on. Service was excellent from the hostesses to our server Emily and everyone else we interacted with - they were so pleasant. Emily knew the menu well and gave great recommendations. I have to say the calamari was probably the best I have EVER eaten. It was light, crispy and not at all chewy. The filet mignon bruschetta was sooooo good. He had a ravioli special with mushrooms and sausage which was delicious and I had the eggplant parm with homemade tagliatelle. The sauce was ok (a little sweet for my liking), but the eggplant was tender and delicious. I look forward to eating here again and trying other items on their menu/specials. Second time we have been and it is just ok !! I had shrimp scampi it was ok but very watery my husband makes better! Friend with us had Grouper special and she said it was very fishy. The other 2 meals were just ok , this restaurant was very highly rated by others and I am not sure why. Usually love this place but was so disappointed by our recent experience there. We had a large group with us who we had hyped the restaurant up to (my boyfriend and I go often) and it unfortunately didn't live up to its usual standard. Food was great but the restaurant was really hot so everyone was pretty uncomfortable eating. Additionally, a couple of the wines we wanted were unavailable, and there were no coffee beverages able to be served with dessert. Literally everyone wanted a coffee at the table so that was a bummer, we would've gone elsewhere for dessert had we known. The other 3 members of my group agreed it was the best meal they have had in a long time. Dined here the evening of December 17, 2022. Very busy but tables well-spaced and the noise was controlled. I recommend reservations be made. Service was very good - attentive and well-paced. The Limoncello martini was absolutely delicious. I kept it to one but wanted more! Enjoyed the Pesto di Gamberi Carbonara and the Frutti Di Mare; both were outstanding. Desserts were tiramisu and gelato and both were very tasty. Servings were generous and the recipes had great depth of flavor and seemed freshly prepared. This restaurant gets 5 stars. From the moment we stepped in they were welcoming and allowed us to book a reservation despite them closing soon for the night. It was my first time so I wasn't sure how busy they'd be but they were very communicative leading up to our table being ready. Our server Raegan was so professional and sweet. She never once made us feel rushed while ordering. My favorite dishes were the Pappardelle Al Funghi pasta, the Sea scallops with balsamic fig reduction, and tiramisu. Had dinner here on Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. The drinks are amazing, I had a grilled peach salad with goat cheese that was delicious. My entree was chicken with gnocchi in a light lemon sauce. My husband got the NY strip , which came with mashed potatoes and roasted vegetables. The portions are huge.
