Excellent! Great service and conversation from Hank and Tom. Best charcuterie board I've ever had! They don't skimp! Delicious bread they get shipped in from New York. House-made chutney was amazing! Highly recommend this establishment. Don't miss out!

    Just a nice memory

Great friendly service and conversation, Hank and Hannah we great winetenders , the small plates were tasty and filling. We are only here for the weekend but we will find our way back.

Nice wine bar with hundreds of wine selections. It's pretty small and when we went there was only one person serving the bar and tables. But she did a great job keeping the patrons happy for being 1 person and the place was packed . We only had a glass of wine

Love a good wine bar & this one takes the cake in wilm. It's so classy inside with a perfectly warm Ambiance. Extensive wine list with excellent service and food. Perfect spot for a wine night. It can be a classy or causal visit whatever you decide, not too stuffy.

Wine and the actual bar has a potential for being an amazing spot. Wine and appetizers were great I mainly had a bad experience as it related to the service. I was clearly being treated differently than everyone else walking into the bar by the mid 30s bartender with the tattoos, fohawk and hat. I barely even talked to the dude. He was giving me Such a bad vibe I even put on my headphones to zone him out. What irritated me the most was he was so Uberly nice to everyone else walking in. And yes I was the only person there other than white but not gonna go there. So if that's what your getting from this review just stop. My interaction was too limited to come to the conclusion race played a factor. So when I barely asked for another drink and only after I saw he wasn't doing anything and free, he said "hold on a second sir, I'm gonna sanitize this table first for someone else." It's not what he said it was the nasty tone he said it in. Then the sweet lady behind the bar with him said, "i got this" and started cleaning it. He had to then come take my order but not first without doing some other Stuff like restocking napkins. Clearly he was doing it on purpose but whatever. Everyone has a bad day so I'll give them another shot at a later time. Hopefully that dudes attitude changes as well if not I will definitely never come back.

Solid wine bar. Nothing special food wise but solid place to have some wine, cheese, charcuterie board, etc (it's create your own), and have a relaxing evening. The bartenders are chill. Would recommend!

I have an issue that when I have a reservation, I have to arrive at least 30 minutes early. That does not mean I am going in the restaurant but it means I am close by and can wander around and kill the time before the actual time I booked. With this being said, this is what happened this past weekend. We had reservations downtown and we arrived super early and had 30 minutes to kill and decided to try out the Fortunate Glass. Right when we walked in we were pleasantly surprised to see that there was not a wait or too many people. All of that changed within the next 15 minutes. They were filled to the brim. We were greeted and sat right away and given a little menu that also included a barcode with a fuller menu of all their wine options. I am a Prosecco fiend. It is my drink of choice and when I saw they had a Prosecco Rose by the glass, that is what we settled on. For $8 the wine was perfect. They pour generously and overall I would love to come back with girlfriends or for a date night to enjoy more of their wine selection. Being that we were heading to a dinner reservation we did not try their food, however, saw some of the options being brought out to nearby tables. Next time we will be trying the charcuterie board for sure.

Husband took me here for pre-diner drinks! We had three half pours and shared a single serving charcuterie board. Portions were a little small for the price, but they were generous with the bread. They have a generous list of wines with descriptions which was super helpful when choosing your drink! Definitely will go back!

Delightful wine bar in the downtown historic district. We really enjoyed the selection of wine and the knowledgeable and friendly owner who served us. We chose the antipasto plate with some yummy cheeses and meats, which came with house made mustard, chutney, and pickles. And we had the daily special flatbread, which was excellent. It was such an enjoyable experience. You've got to try it.

It clearly stated that you are supposed to order from the bar, so first sat down to look at the menu. The one bartender working was kind enough to stop by the table to let us know she was ready to help us. They allow simple complementary tastings so got a thimbleful of their whiskey and limoncello. Ordered a Von Moscow Mule ($10) and a Regulator Whiskey ($12). Good pour. My team wasn't playing, so wasn't really interested in what was on the TV (unlike most others in the bar). Instead, enjoyed the live music while sipping on our cocktails, and left once done. It was a good stay.

Smoked Old Fashioned was on point. Met both owners (characters!) on their way out as we came in on an early Tuesday afternoon. Bar was just what it needed to be, small and historic feeling with an excellent bartender (Ashley?) and excellent offerings. They have music most evenings but we didn't stay that late. Took home two bottles of their originals to enjoy. Want a place to just sit, drink and enjoy time off? This is the place!

We shared a bottle of Whites Bay Sauvignon Blanc. We mentioned to the waitress that it could have been a touch colder (we like it icy) and after pouring us a small glass each she took it back to the blast chiller to cool it down more. It came back cooler and we put it on ice at the table. One of our favorite ways of eating sharing small plates. We started with a dozen oysters (6 from NC and 6 from SC). They were very good and the sauces that came with them were a nice compliment. Next was a nice arugula salad with some goat cheese. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Then came the "mains". We had Octopus with polenta. Not tough or chewy and the polenta was a nice compliment. Mussels in a nice white whine sauce were nice an garlicky and the bread that came with for sopping up the broth was perfect. Final "main" was beef tartare with a marrow bone. My partner does not like marrow so it was all mine and it was spectacular. Finished the night with a mini creme brulee that we shared. It was served in a little demi cup and it was just the right size bite. Our table was on the 2nd floor and it was a great atmosphere. Even though it was full, the room was not too loud that we couldn't have a nice conversation. Here is the best part. Our server, Nikki, was one of the best we have had at any restaurant. A little personality, just attentive enough and brought out our dishes just as we had asked them to come out. Couldn't ask for any better. Was our experience cheap? NO but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself go to Circa 1992!

We visited as part of a wedding party on a celebratory night, moving from our rehearsal dinner venue to Blue Post to continue the evening with the full group. What should have been a joyful occasion was marred by an egregious display of arbitrary authority from one of the front-door staff. Upon arrival, 2 members of our party were finishing their drinks outside, a common and reasonable practice before entering another bar. One individual finished his beer (which he set down outside on a table at The Ivy) and attempted to enter. The staff member at the door, who had visibly watched him finish it, refused entry. This was not about policy enforcement; it was the beginning of a clear power trip. Rather than joining the rest of the wedding party, our friend went next door to The Ivy, where he enjoyed a drink and danced for about 20 minutes. He then returned to Blue Post, was screened by two other staff members without issue, and was allowed inside. He was simply talking with friends when the original staff member sought him out within the bar and ejected him--for no discernible reason, no violation of any posted rules, and no disturbance whatsoever. The decision appeared entirely personal and capricious. For context, the bouncers at The Ivy (literally next door) were stunned when we recounted the events. They confirmed there was no law or standard rule being broken and found the handling of the situation baffling and unprofessional. They also saw him drink and set the drink outside, but had no problem with him entering their establishment multiple times. In an industry built on hospitality, especially in a social setting like a bar during a wedding celebration, this level of pettiness and lack of basic customer respect is disappointing. A single employee's ego should not dictate the experience of an entire group trying to celebrate together. We spent money at Blue Post and expected a night of fun, not an exercise in arbitrary exclusion. I would caution others, particularly larger groups or those celebrating special occasions, to consider whether this is the right venue. There are plenty of welcoming bars in Wilmington that understand how to balance reasonable policies with good judgment and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, Blue Post fell far short on this occasion immensely. I've heard many same sentiments about this place from locals.
