I love going into Forest Lake Target! It's not to big and not to small, always easy to find what I'm looking for and if I need help there are plenty of employees happy to help. It is just another Target, but then there are variations to stores depending on local regulations and square footage allowed. This store seems a bit smaller than most non-Super Targets. There is no Starbucks but it is easy to head to an aisle that's in the same area as the Kansas City store or N.E. Minneapolis location. In this case cookie cutter floor plans are a good thing. I did see a floor walker greeting customers and asking if anyone needs help finding something. I haven't seen this elsewhere. The checkout lines were on the long side when I entered, but more terminals were opened by the time I checked out which shows the management can make quick adjustments during the day. I would think, however, on a Saturday afternoon they would keep enough people staffed to handle the expected rush. read more

Target should wise up and get those crappy cell phone salesman out of the electronics section. Twice! I walked past these clowns and twice they stopped me to try and sell me their cruddy service. Never got to what I was looking for in electronics because I did t want to deal with them. Get a clue Target. Its not always about the money!!! read more

This Target underwent a renovation this past year. Some parts are good and others are challenging. The store appears more contemporary now and looks more like a department store (rather than a discount store) in some areas. On the flip side, I'm still trying to figure out where some of the items are located. Most recently, I went to Target to try to find mouthwash for my daughter. Logically, one would place toothpaste, toothbrushes, and mouthwashes near health and personal care items - where they have always been. After going up and down the aisles in these sections, I gradually made my way towards the front of the store past the cleaning products and then into the beauty area. Yes...the mouthwash is now in the beauty area. Target's pharmacy was taken over by CVS. When that transition happened, there was a notable difference in how business was done here...and not for the better. Prescriptions sometimes can sit for days before they are filled. One time, when I tried to pick up prescriptions for family member after a surgery she had, I was in the store for over 45 minutes waiting for her prescriptions to be filled. The prescription had been called in about 40 minutes before then. There was not a line of customers or what seemed like an unusually busy time. It was just incredibly slow service. This slow service has been a consistent pattern. So, we finally switched pharmacies because of the poor service and unreasonably long waits. My daughters like going to the Starbucks that's in the front of the store. There always seems like there is a lot of business at that location. We used to get our eyes checked with Dr. Eliason at Target and get glasses and contacts at the optical store. Unfortunately, when my daughters' health insurance plan changed we found out that it wasn't accepted there. So, we had to switch. It's too bad. We really enjoyed seeing Dr. Eliason and the staff there. We like that the store isn't huge and we can usually find what we need in a short period of time. We can check out and leave quickly which is a plus for us. It would be nice to have more self-checkout lanes available since there always seems to be people at them and not many cashiers available. The good thing about the redesign is that I don't like to linger in Target anymore. I find what I need and get out. So, it definitely has saved me a lot of money! read more

Sure it's a Target. So why review it? Pharmacy customer service stinks! They do their best to avoid eye contact at all costs. When I see a chorus line of employees standing in the back and nobody at the window to help, I get irritated. Standing at the window for 5 minutes while they all avoid you is terrible customer service. Then when somebody finally does come up they go to a different line and help the person there after me. Optical is kind of the same way. Not being greeted and having to listen to how the night shift screwed up is just tacky. The customer service at this location leaves a lot to be desired with the exception of the front end cashiers who have always been helpful. This is a smaller Target, but usually does the job for what I need and when I want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the Walmart next door. They have added food items to this one. Classic Target layout, so it's hard to review another one-- yes, I go to a Target everywhere, so I have reviewed a lot. I really enjoyed walking around this location and getting my groceries-- they had everything I needed in stock. I also appreciated their kitchen section, as their room essentials brand allows me to outfit my kitchen with inexpensive, quality plates and bowls. The cartwheel app also allows you to save a lot. The only complaint I have for this particular location is that the girl at the check out was delaying the process by the amount of times she asked me if I wanted a red card. Like, I understand the need to ask each customer, but going into stories about how others saved money after I had already said 'no' is not going to get me to buy it. It was more annoying than anything to have to wait for her to finish talking before she would let me swipe my card. read more

When I travel to MN from out of state, this is the Target I go to. It is clean, the people are SO nice, the parkinglot is always cleared, and I never have to go looking for carts. The selection is always what I need and I have no coplaints! read more

Felt more like going into Walmart. Lines backed up so far people couldn't get past them to start shopping. Hire more cashiers! Self check out is great when it's quick but if I have to stand in line anyways I'll just wait for a cashier to open up. read more

Target Optical Can not say enough how happy I am with Dr Eliason and her staff. I have seen her twice now and both times had the most thorough exam ever. She is so fun, easy to work with, and very accommodating. At my appointment today she noticed some minor irritation from allergies and thoroughly checked my eyes to make sure there was no infection. She even gave me some free samples to help alleviate any itching as a result. The staff was amazing at helping me pick out the perfect frames and helped me maximize my order by using rebates/price matching/target discounts etc. I just got the best deal ever on my choice of contacts and was even able to get some fun colored contacts for free! I am so pleased with the service and friendliness and will definitely go to them for all of my eye are needs! read more

CVS Pharmacy has taken over the pharmacy area in Target. It has not been a good transition. I have had to wait longer for my prescriptions and the reward program through CVS is a joke. I signed up for the Extra Care program, but it doesn't give rewards. You need to sign up for another program, which the pharmacy staff did not tell me about when I was picking up my medications. I had to call CVS customer support to find out this information. In the past with Target you would receive a 5% discount coupon with 5 prescription orders. I would plan my larger shopping days when I had the additional discount coupon. CVS will give you a $5.00 coupon after 10 prescriptions. The ironic part is you need to go to a CVS store to use it. In my case I would need to drive 30 minutes to use the $5.00 coupon. It is not good at the pharmacy that I receive my medications. I am not impressed with the change in the pharmacy. In the past I have done most of my shopping at Target since I was picking up my prescriptions. Previously I also was given options on medication packaging. Recently one of the medications I received was in a box, with the label haphazardly attached. When I removed the bottle from the box, there went the instructions. For my medications, I could deal with it. In the case of helping elderly family with their medications it would be a problem. CVS has been in my local Target since December, you would think that they would of worked out "all the bugs" since the transition. I think I need to look at other options for my pharmacy needs. read more

Went into the Forest Lake Target location today for an item, and tried to use my parents discount who works at the Starbucks in Target. I have used her discount numerous times with numerous different employees who know my Grandma very well. Morgan decided it was her call to make to where I was unable to use my grandmothers discount when again I have been able to use this discount for months. I have changed jobs and therefore had to give up my cub foods pharmacy. Upon calling target in Forest lake and asking about a prescription that I was told would be filled within a couple of hours. I was told by the pharmacist that she is the only one working and the hours that she works. Not sure why she had to tell me that. It's now 2 1/2 hours and The pharmacist rudely and abruptly told me she'd have mine done within 30 minutes. This is my first experience with this CVS pharmacy in target stores and it stinks. Mail order will definitely be a better substitute than walking in and dealing with these people. Rude, abrasive, and belittling. Shame on you. read more

Target is one of those places where it have pretty much anything you need! But I don't like the lack of Healthy Foods in the Grocery Area

Please provide a separate entrance and checkout for groceries. It will make for less parking hassles and easier access.
