I tried to park here during the Little Canada citywide garage sales - they have a huge parking lot and it was empty before they opened - I got a good stink eye from an employee walking in and someone else came out to tell us we had to move even before we left the car - aight, should have parked in back where you wouldn't have noticed.... Anyway, after we were done saleing - we did come back to dig through this place and I loved it. Prices are extremely low and there are plenty of good things to find! I bought some things just because of the price (do I really need two pictures of chickadees in heart shaped frames? Or a toy dragon? Or a puzzle? Or a mug with vegetables on it? Of course not!) I also found some really cute booties - I would love to go back and spend more time someday!

As we were downstairs looking around, one of the ladies (short hair and striped top) came down and ducked around the corner watching us. I knew what she was doing but chose to ignore her hoping my kids wouldn't know what she was doing. We did find 3 lead soldiers and asked for help, the ladies at the counter told is they would be right with us. We stood there for about 5 or more minutes until someone finally came to help us...apparently they all needed to help one customer. We bought our items and left. My two kids pointed out in the car to me that they knew the lady in the striped top was watching us. There were plenty of other customers also shopping but she decided to follow and watch us. No thanks. This is the last time we'll ever come here. There are plenty of other antique shops around that don't do this to us. We love antique shopping. It's sad too, as we live in Elk River.

The three levels are laid out well and you are not cramped walking through there. Never an old musty smell or tons of junk. I have bought many things here over the years from old fireplace mantles, to upcycled gifts, a midcentury drink cart, Vintage Pyrex, and even Cutco knives. I love this place and every time I am up in Elk River i make sure to stop in!

Today I was over it and after my husband said hello to the woman following us and she still just stood there staring at us so I asked if we were in her way. She said "no, just watching"!!! It just so happens that on the day we visited, the store had a small setup of free hot apple cider and little sandwich cookies available for shoppers. This gave us a special glimpse of Minnesota hospitality and set things off on a great foot on a very chilly day! We looked through Christmas decorations and old games and I was thankful to find an excellent prank hallmark ornament for my sister and a nostalgic hallmark ornament for myself--a little mouse atop a spool of thread, sewing popcorn kernels for a Christmas garland. We looked at a variety of scarves and coats and then found a cute, new/barely-used, button-up shirt with little mustaches for my partner. All of this--delicious hot cider, Christmas and childhood nostalgia, easily transported "souvenirs" from our visit to Minnesota, and a crisp new shirt for my partner--all for less than $10 made for a pretty great first-time thrifting experience and a memorable stop on the trip for me!

My son and my daughter wanted items and were told that the staff will hold on to it, these items were not locked up. My son bought an item and was told they will lower it to $10 but instead charged him $19. We have thrifted and antique shopped from Duluth all the way to Winona, we are local and decided to try this place for the first time and definitely the last. While you were busy following us thinking just because we are POC, we would steal, Dick and Jane over there were probably stealing. FYI, POC people like to thrift and antique shop too. I have never had this happen, this is the first time, which is just disgusting as we are locals. I'd much prefer the Antique 101 or Elk River Antique. Our POC money is just as good as a white persons. You don't have to follow us because of our skin color.

I was lucky enough to be visited by one of your lovely employees, Sreya, who guided me across the many paintings, furniture, and other knick-knacks organized beautifully across the store. She put up many great conversations, and it was a lovely interaction that we had while I scoped out which products to purchase.
