It was not ideal, but they did a good job moving into this new location and making it their own. The staff, front office and supporting included, is always friendly and helpful. I feel like given the rankings of AZ education in general, which we know is not great as a state, Neely provides the best elementary education you can get and does so in a safe and welcoming environment. I would recommend checking it out if you're looking for an elementary school in the area.

It was like playing a game of cat and mouse trying to chase the truth. like the principal would tell two different stories to cover up what's really going on. Carlson told me that my child wasn't fit for this school and that they wouldn't pass to the next grade, as well as a couple teachers told my child they "were dumb, and wouldn't pass" making it a difficult year. The bullying is horrible there and nothing is ever done to stop it. They only punish one kid, and not the party of kids that gang up on a single student. The administration and staff are just as bad when it comes to talking to the children, they are just mean and hurtful. Never in my wildest dreams would I want my kid to come home crying or not wanting to go back to school because of the way they are treated at a school. My 3rd grader at the time didn't feel accepted while attending Ashland ranch. All due to staff (certain teachers), administrators and select student who bully. We attended for only two years on open enrollment only to be let down and pushed out. Like they pick a students name out of a hat and that's the kid to pick on for the year. She tries to use scare tactics on the victims instead of addressing the real problem. When there was an issue with fifth and six graders using the word 'rape' she removed the parents that were addressing the concerns and allow the problem to continue to persist. She may have been a good Principal of high schoolers however for elementary - 'horrible' is too nice of a word. The week we left the school, it was mid year, 11 students were removed within the same week. Some of the finest educators you will find have moved on to other districts because of the clique mentality that the school holds. It is very sad to see a school located in a great neighborhood go downhill because of one common denominator... Principal Carlson. If you were looking for an elementary school may I suggest ANY other school. Drive a little further and enroll your students into Neeley. You will thank me later!

My two sons are currently in 5th grade at Kyrene de las Lomas Elementary School and have…read moreexperienced ongoing bullying for the past two years. A few months ago, one of my sons was physically assaulted when another student choked him. The incident was dismissed by the school as a minor issue, despite the seriousness of the act. More recently, my two sons and one of their friends were verbally threatened by three other students. I immediately reported this to the principal, office staff, and district administration. Although the threatened fight never occurred, the response from the school has been inconsistent and inadequate. The principal initially stated that students would rotate days for playing soccer during recess but later reduced my sons' access to only two days per week, without explanation. After I raised concerns about the choking incident and the threats, I believe the principal began retaliating against my children. During a school bingo event, my son and his friend each had valid bingos that were confirmed by surrounding students, yet the principal publicly denied them multiple times. The school promotes itself as a "no violence" campus, but ongoing issues are not being properly acknowledged or addressed. I contacted the Board of Education and requested that the vice principal handle all future matters involving my children due to concerns of targeting and retaliation.
