We had our driveway paved by Porter Paving in May of 2024. When we called them to get a quote, we…read moretold them we needed a fix to the driveway to get rid of the 'Mount Vesuvius' type heaves in the driveway and they agreed to tear up and put down a new driveway. They suggested that perhaps we had too much clay in that area and that was what had created the heaves in the first place. While they were ripping up the old driveway, they came across a drain pipe on the left side of the driveway, broke it and re-installed it. There was no pipe on the right side of the area and the right side is where all our heaves were.... my husband and I don't install driveways for a living so didn't think much of it. We paid Porter Paving over $22,000 for their work. Last February 2025 after snow melted we found major heaves on the right side of the driveway. The crack was so high that we could not drive our car over it. We were so dissappointed and called Porter Paving to come and take a look. It took months before they came by to look at it, and of course by then, the winter thaw had occurred and the driveway was flat again but the heave had created a long thirty foot crack.... At this point, they said maybe the new heaves had something to do with drainage and they suggested we talk to someone - they referred us to a contractor that they worked with. I asked of course why now they thought it had something to do with drainage and no longer thinks it had something to do with a clay base but they did not say anything. The contrator for the drainage work came out in the fall and quoted us $10,000 to put in a drain. They would have to dig up a portion of the driveway, put in the pipe/drain and then re-pave. Porter Paving has been in business for many, many years and should know by now what they are quoting on. We live on the side of a mountain. They should know when drainage is required and when it isn't. Had they told me or suggested that it was important for us to lay a second drainage pipe on the other half of our driveway we certainly would have, but they mentioned no such thing... I'm sure it would have much cheaper to have done it before they layed the asphalt. We called Porter several times but the person who answered the phone refused to let us talk with the owner. We never got a call from him. We then wrote and mailed a letter to Porter Paving late last fall and asked them to remedy the situation and we have yet to receive a reply. Now it looks like we will have to file a claim in court in order for them to listen. It's too bad that a local company won't stand by their work.

After contacting the business multiple times and having been stood up for agreed times to meet, no follow through has occurred. I am extremely disappointed on the lack of professionalism on behalf of the company.

Reschedule, no show, no call. More excuses. Several of my neighbors have had their trees removed, by not me. I talked to Cam, in person, at my neighbors, twice. He assured me, in person, they would come to remove my trees. It's now January and I still have the trees. Today, they are at another neighbors house. I think 5 months is plenty of time to at least give me a call. My recommendation, go to someone else. My location is Wolfeboro, NH. I'm using a VPN so it might look like I posted somewhere else. Update: Got a call from Cam. Right after he read this review. Fastest unsolicited call back I ever got. Didn't come by in person even though I can see him from my front door, up a tree at the neighbors house. He called to let me know all the reasons he didn't show up for 5 MONTHS. Didn't offer to make it up by scheduling a firm date. Didn't offer to make it up by giving me a discount for the aggravation. Just excuses. To late now Cam.

Mike did an amazing job. Dropped them on a dime and excellent clean up. 30 years as a Green Beret helicopter pilot shows. Always safety conscious and extremely skilled. Scott's has served us very well. They cleared out overgrown and jumbled land on a hilly slope and…read moreremoved debris and rocks, prepared the soil, and planted 3 cyprus trees, and 3 shrubs. The results were gorgeous and they took care to make sure the area (already spongy) would drain properly. Additionally, Scott's had helped us locate and purchase the trees we needed during challenging COVID times when trees were often hard to find. They provided excellent customer service from the time they scoped out the work through planting, and follow-up care. In addition to our tree project, Scott's did extensive weeding and clean-up in areas that had been neglected for 2 years. Their gardener is knowledgeable about planting and about plants themselves and easy to communicate with. He gave great advice--and worked like an expert "partner" with my elderly Mom who knows a bit about gardening but can no longer get out to do it. The landscapers doing the excavation and tree and shrubs planting and general heavy lifting were smart, knowledgeable, able, strong, adept, resourceful, careful, flexible, courteous and respectful. They were skillful with their equipment and went above and beyond after I'd mentioned my Dad who recently passed loved rocks and if they could add some of them on top of the soil to plant around we'd be grateful--I don't know how he did it but he used his rugged backhoe(?) to delicately pick up rock by rock from the massive piled of dirt and then--by hand--made nice rock arrangements. We are having them back to spruce up the yard and to create a strategy for my Mom's perennial garden in the areas where the trees are planted, and beyond. Professional, efficient, skilled, pleasant, and overall good company to work with.
