Had a fantastic time with Paul on the canoe/kayaks on the Tamar river. The 6:30am one is calm, relaxing and beautiful. The colour of the sunrise can not be matched and we saw the gorge in all its glory in the early morning light. It was peaceful and simple to travel on the crafts. Paul was knowledgeable and we had a great time. Cannot miss the Tamar river tour!! read more

Our tours have been enjoyed by thousands of individuals and families alike. Visiting well known natural attractions such as Cradle Mountain, Bay of Fires and Freycinet Peninsula as well as lesser know gems such as the Blue Tiers, Tarkine, and the rugged Tasmanian West Coast We place an emphasis on running tours that are low impact and sustainable and are proud to have the Advanced Ecotourism Accreditation. We have recently been awarded the Green Traveller Leader Award in recognition of over 10 years of ECO certification

Meet the Business Owner: Aran P.

Aran is the owner, director and chief guide for Tasmanian Safaris (along with many other hats) I grew up in Tasmania just taking for granted the family holidays, camping out, wandering the bush, playing on bikes, fishing and a good old campfire to relax around at night. I didn't really appreciate what a amazing place Tasmania was until I lived overseas When I returned to Tasmanian in 2007 I had decided the outdoor life was for me and I started a career guiding tours in our diverse range of landscapes. I worked in the emerging destination known as the Tarkine helped run several photographic expeditions to the area. Knowing the Pieman river would make a unique destination for flat water paddling amongst cool temperate rainforests. I started a business using special Hobie pedal powered kayaks. In 2012 I merged it with Tasmanian Safaris to offer a more complete range of unique Tasmanian holidays

Yesterday 4 of us visiting from NSW caught the 331 bus at 10.30am for a tour of the city. All I can…read moresay is that it was an absolute nightmare.. The driver Rodney, sped around despite the fact that it was raining, leaving his braking to the very last minute and then forced to brake hard which caused the passengers great discomfort and despair. He drove through 3 red lights, and over numerous curbs as he was going too fast to take the corners correctly. He appeared to be in an angry mood when we got on the bus, but by the time we had returned his mood seemed to have improved dramatically. My husband is a retired member of the New South Wales Police Force and considered his driving to be in a manner dangerous to the public given the prevailing weather conditions. We departed this bus at the end of the run and waited for another Tiger Bus to continue our touring. This trip was a pleasure, the driver was polite and friendly and drove at a pleasant pace and we were able to observe the building as we drove past them.

We…read morewent to 4 different wineries throughout the day, all with stunning views and great wine and cider. The cheese platter with homemade relish was delicious. Jeremy went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our tour, from explaining the history of the different vineyards in the Tamar Valley to giving us recommendations in Launceston and dropping us directly off at the pub after our tour was over! Would highly recommend going on a tour of the Tamar Valley with Valleybrook Wine on Wheels.

This one was different. To prove it, you walk uphill into the cave instead of downhill. (Those crazy upside-down Australians. Just kidding.) The unique feature of this cave, and I hope this isn't a spoiler, is the glow worm room. To avoid further spoilage I won't tell you more, but it's definitely a must-see and unforgettable.
