Since my horrible experience, it has come to my attention that my experience is not singular. The routine appears to be; Chris, without a care in the world mutilates you, you contact Randy for help, they tell you "come on in, Randy will fix it right up." To get more patronage out of you. Keep in mind, Chris has not been tattooing for a single year or something. Also keep in mind, I'm not able to simply have it "fixed up" right away, because it was done so deep and so poorly that four months later it is STILL not healed enough to be worked on. The rest of it is so unshaded and light that it's fallen out and is just a skin tinted gray. There's bumps constantly growing in the skin that don't go away for a long time, I could go on and on and on. This is embarrassing and ridiculous, I've got no other words to describe it. If you think that this is acceptable conduct, this is the place for you. Not to mention the rates, 130 an hour for a person to replicate like a blindfolded toddler trying to shade in-between lines as fast as humanly possible. If you like angry guys pretending you don't exist while they take their frustrations out on your skin, permanently, this is the place for you. Either way, this is a gamble, there's far less scary options than flipping a coin here. I grow hopeful that someone I trust can cover this up for me eventually however, and hopefully it'll be a nice piece and this is all a story I tell in the future, and I will be telling thing story. Stay safe, do your research on shops, most importantly don't let someone who looks pissed and won't talk to you bring a needle to your skin. Picture doesn't do it justice just how bad it is. Paid for an hour got about 30 minutes for a very rushed tattoo that's got no shading at all in some spots and is way too deep in others. Shading literally seriously entirely outside of the lines. Literally been told it looks like it was not done in a shop. Also had our double appointment moved last minute, artist was impossible to reach and probably just wanted to spit the tattoos out and leave rather than actually craft art. First time experience so it felt impossible to recognize the problems and red flags.

I called a few other shops, and all of them said I could stop in to discuss my ideas. No problem! My idea was basic, and literally any decent artist could do it. However, most of them treated me like I was a nuisance. Whatever. It's not like I was a paying customer or anything. Finally, someone treated me with respect. The lady helped me by giving me Athena's email address to send her my ideas, so I payed my deposit and was on my way. The time came for my appointment. Since I hadn't met with Athena, I was instructed to come in a little early so she could consult with me and draw up my idea. She started by drawing my quill right onto my arm so I could see the placement. She then drew a quill in three different sizes so we could pick the perfect size. Athena was great about giving me her honest opinion, but still let me make the final decision. We finally agreed on the size, and she began. This definitely wasn't my first tattoo, but I apparently don't handle the wrist very well. I am embarrassed to admit this, but I got extremely light headed. Yep, that's right. I almost fainted. Pause for humiliating laughter. Athena repositioned me and was really great about the whole embarrassing situation. 5 hours later, and I was finished. I seriously cried when I saw it. Full story: I placed an order in the morning on March 31 and received a confirmation email, as expected, with the expectation that the jewelry would ship in 3-7 days (per their website policy, as the jewelry wasn't custom). However, I also saw that they had a notice on their website that they were moving soon, and that orders placed after April 1 wouldn't be filled until their move was complete. Wasn't sure if mine would count, since it was technically before April 1, but I wasn't worried about it. The jewelry was just for me, and it wasn't an urgent need. Fast forward to the middle of May, I'm bummed that I haven't gotten my jewelry yet, but still feeling understanding. I had plans to move early in June, so I reached out to the email provided on my order to ask if they would need an updated address (if shipping wouldn't happen until June) or if I could expect my order before I moved. Email bounced back, no other contact options listed on site. I forgot about it for a while, and then I started getting their marketing emails. I reached out again (to a new address, found in the marketing email), and got a vague "we'll look into it ASAP" in response. Now we're into September. Got my order a little while later. Jewelry was pretty when I first opened the box, but I immediately noticed that it was the wrong size (yes - I double checked my order, measurements, and site info - it was just incorrect). I picked one up to look at it and unscrewed one end (the ball on the end of a barbell). When I tried to screw it back in, the little threaded screw-post on the ball snapped! With no force whatsoever! AND the ball on the other end of the barbell popped out of the prongs! I've gotten nicer jewelry from Walmart. I thought, for $70, I'd strike a decent balance of quality and affordability. Unfortunately, I was wrong. Bummer about that no return/exchange/refund policy, too. As an aside, I honestly hate writing reviews like this, especially for small businesses. It makes me feel yucky. Their vibe is so incredibly unique from other places, if you walked in there you'd immediately get it. It's not your typical rough and tumble, almost intimidating tattoo place but it's a lot more low key, and I guess spiritual? is how I'd say. Another cool thing, it's female owned and all of the tattoo artists and the piercer are women. Girl power!! Steph is my lady, and she is SO TALENTED. Just saying that she is an unbelievably skilled artist is only putting it lightly and not giving her the justice she deserves. She is truly in the right industry. She's also just so nice and down to earth so you feel very comfortable from the get go. Steph's section of the shop has a ton of her watercolor paintings hung up, and I usually just stare in awe at those most of my appointments because they're awesome. Most of the artists have their own art hung up all around the shop which is super cool in my opinion. Just take a look at some of the work Steph's done on me, and you should see just what I'm saying. When she worked on the gems on my arm, she used this special technology to make the gems black and white outlines, and she said she looks at them a specific way, in which she's been trained, in order to bring them to life. It was just so fascinating to me and I know I can trust her with anything. She's done half of my tattoos and I'll keep going to her as long as I am able or anytime I'm in town. She's great at designing ink as well. I had an idea for a tattoo I really wanted but wasn't quite sure how to make it all come together. I told her what I was thinking and she helped turn it into an amazing tat that I get tons of compliments on.
