For those of us that have been residents of BF Homes since the 90s, we still remember a time when the streets were quiet and the bars were few and far in between. These days, you can't throw a rock a few feet without a new bar or restaurant opening up, trying to be the next big thing. And when there's a boom in the amount of good establishments, there's also a boom in the number of people that come through. But for those of us that still crave for the olden days when you could grab a drink in BF without having to yell through loud music or be bumped around by drunk people, there's Tavern Asia. Fondly referred to as "Tav" for its regulars, this is a place that seems to be withstanding the test of time in terms of the amount of time that it's been around. Save for one night a week where it turns into a copycat of a frat house because of the Beer Pong tournament, Tav remains a great place to sit around with your friends and have a chill time. Make sure that you order food, too, because this place's menu subsists of a lot of great finds. Pro tip for Japanese lovers: if you're the type of person that will eat sashimi anywhere or any time (e.g. me), Tav actually has a lot of good Jap offerings for a cheap price. And if your waiter is named Jess, make sure that you treat him well and you will experience just great service you'll never want to drink anywhere else ever again. read more
