Cool and classy place! The bartender did a displayed his talents while making drinks which is always cool. Happy with the price for the drinks. Same drink in a bigger city would easily cost twice as much. Needs more short chairs but that's okay. Hope they keep up karaoke night! read more

A group of 5 of us visited Tavern on Prospect on 9/20/20. We were the only people there at that time. We were there to watch football and enjoy some drinks on a Sunday. The bartender was tentative and friendly. We enjoyed him, and he made us want to stay. We were there approximately 4 hours, and would have loved to stay longer. Unfortunately, our visit was cut short due to the owner coming in and screaming at the bartender. He came in the door and screamed from the door, "PUT YOUR MASK ON!" he left right after screaming. This made us extremely uncomfortable, and left an awkward atmosphere. The bartender complied, and put his mask on. He was still very friendly and upbeat. Shortly after, the owner came in again, but without a facial covering. He walked behind the bar and was not maintaining social distancing guidelines. He was touching and standing near glassware, bottles, food prep areas, etc. We asked why he was not wearing a facial covering. He very rudely replied, "I am the owner, I do not have to." You would assume if you are going scream at your employee to wear one, you would wear one as well.. This is also currently mandated in the state of Illinois. He was not leading by example. He proceeded to tell us that this is private property, and he does not have to or want to wear one. He did not seem to care that he was being rude to his only customers. We were very open to giving him plenty of business, and would have gladly stayed if he offered an apology or complied with wearing a facial covering. He instead was rude and disrespectful. He told the bartender to tab us out and make us leave. We made sure to take very good care of the bartender, but unfortunately we will not be back there to visit that establishment anymore. A 0/5 stars would be more appropriate for our experience. read more

Cute little bar, with a very local Pub atmosphere. Bartender was pleasant and nice. Not a place for complicated cocktails, however. My friend ordered a standard margarita and we watched the bartender have to look it up in "the book". Although I appreciate the dedication to your craft, sir, this is bartending 101. read more

Taking a step into the tavern on prospect is like taking a step into the early 20th century. With a black and gold color scheme, this restaurant and bar has a classic 1920s Art Deco style reminiscent of the Great Gatsby. The menu is beautiful an well thought out with plenty of drink and food options. However, the tavern has video gaming and a few big screen TVs, conflicting with the overall classy atmosphere. The food was good although my meal was brought out 10 minutes before my buddies, hence the 4 star review. Overall great service otherwise. read more

New place is somewhat better. Definitely need to do away with the studio chairs at the bar(hey, it's a tavern!). Haven't tried any of the bar menu items yet, however looks good. Need to try again! read more

A small local bar, with a nice friendly atmosphere. The bartenders are friendly, knowledgeable, and usually talkative. Great place if you're looking to have a drink and conversation but don't want to have to scream over the noise. read more

Cozy bar with nice outdoor patio area; tables in window area a bit hard to get into. A bit pricey, friendly, fun. Worth a visit especially when the weather is nice. Ladies, the bathrooms are usually spotless. read more

Went there for the first timeon Saturday night, nice atmosphere and a very cozy place to enjy a drink. The drink sizes were large and tasted great too. Overall the prices were fair and well worth it. The bertenders were nice and friendly, we will be coming back for sure! New hang out place! read more
