Taverna Angelica was our families greatest culinary experience in Italy. Mariella the owner was amazing! She greeted us with warmth and affection (she is Napolitana), and offered us delicious fresh meals: Slow cooked pork filet in a light teriyaki sauce and Jerusalem artichokes; Breast of goose with mango chutney; grilled octopus in a light creme sauce with cool dried raspberries. The pork belly appetizer was simply the best I have ever tasted. Amazing find. The best value of our European vacation thus far (Madrid, Barcelona, Rome).

An excellent and hidden-away treasure near the Vatican! First, our server was attentive with a dry sense of humor, but gave us excellent wine recommendations and had a candid conversation about his travels around Europe. This was a rare encounter as obvious tourists (not just the humor- also the respect), and refreshing. Second, the food! €10 pasta is quite common around Rome, but here it was actually worth it. We waited 15-20 minutes for the food to come out, but the pasta was freshly made and the sauce was to die for (particularly the pistachio one). And, the waiter gave us free appetizers (delicious quiche) while we waited. The seafood salad was freshly tossed, the risotto was light and good, everything was served beautifully. Since the location is a bit off the main road, there didn't seem to be many tourists either. I would definitely recommend this again!

We had a great meal at Taverna Angelica - the food, the wine, the staff, the limoncello.....all soooo goooood!

This was the best meal that I had in Italy. Everything was prepared perfectly and all of the dishes were beautifully presented. I'm really glad that we found this place. It can be easy to miss! I ordered the tasting menu and was very happy with everything that came out. The portions were huge! It was more like two full meals with a starter and dessert. I had to be careful and not eat all of the pasta because I knew I still had the beef dish coming. I also kept sampling my fiancé dish which was spaghetti with tomatoes, chili oil, and some other delicious ingredients. He helped me finish the huge serving of beef that we both couldn't get enough of! We somehow made room for our rich and delicious chocolate desserts. On top of all that- the prices were very good. No need to break the bank to have an excellent meal.

Service is amazing and the restaurant is quiet. Pasta, on the other hand, is a bit too hard.

The best was saved til last a tiramisu style dessert and espresso. Delish.

This was the the most wonderful restaurant. We arrived in Rome and this was a few blocks from our Hotel. The wait staff was spot on their recommendations. We had the chefs tasting menu. The wait staff took excellent care of us and anticipated every need. The atmosphere was quietly lively extremely clean and refreshing. I could eat there every day. Loved it didnt take many pic of food as we enjoyed the foot and the experience of the event

If you want a quiet, elegant dinner night go to this restaurant. Dishes were well prepared & delicious! The sample of cheese platter stimulated a lot to taste buds. The grilled shrimp were fresh & moist! I had the fish pot which sounds like a large portion but it was just right. Dessert, order the pineapple mango fredo it was a night cold dessert

It's our last night in Rome so we were looking for a really good place to eat and this place did not disappoint. Delicious...delicious...delicious!!!

We had a wonderful classic Italian and modern Roman fare with excellent service. Scallops and pork belly and cold mozzarella soup for starters and pasta with bacala and sweet Italian pork for the main courses. Finished with a wonderful zuppa inglese and an amazing ginger chocolate mousse with passion fruit sauce.

Review # 1200 After…read moresome shopping on the Via cola Di Riemzo, we were ready for lunch. This spot was a Yelp find. We arrived just before they opened at 12:30. We asked for a table outside and the kind lady asked us if we had a reservation (oh oh). We didn't. No problem as we took our pick of one of the tables. Two levels inside with a small Bar in the back. Before we knew it, outside seating was full and inside also filled up-a good sign. We ordered a liter (ended up being too much but when in Rome...) of their house Red and enjoyed it. For starters, we ordered the Fried Artichokes (thick breading and will order the Roman style with garlic/vinegar next time), fried Zucchini and Suppli-Cacio Pepe. The Suppli was delicious and was enjoyed the most. For main, it was Pasta Carbonara (Guanciale )-Proper carbonara and the streak of not having a bad version of this dish in Rome continues. The sliced Beef with mushrooms was also delicious -super tender and thin pieces of beef (medium rare as requested). We asked if the Tiramisu was house-made. Our server answered, "yes, and I am the one who makes it." How could we not order after that?! One of the best Tiramisus we've had. Perfect balance of coffee dipped lady fingers with cream-delicious! Our Server was kind, attentive and full of hustle -she was covering a lot of ground. Don't miss this Gem if you are in the Prati district.

Already depressed knowing we were returning to the cold and fearful Minneapolis, we spent the day packing and wandering Prati. After drowning our sorrows at a few cocktail emporiums in the early evening, we walked into Su e Giu without a reservation close to 9:30. The two guys working the front showed us to a table, and we proceeded to have a perfect last night meal. Our appetizers and pastas were great, service was friendly, and I spent time reflecting on how wonderful Rome is, rather than thinking about our return to the fractured States. Su e Giu Cucina Romana is the perfect Roman restaurant to feel La Dolce Vita. It is a sweet life indeed.

I had possibly the most amazing chick food pasta a girl could imagine. Girls know what girl food is. The pasta in Italy is just better -obviously. But then put all sorts of girl flavors on it like Lemon and Orange, just lightly enough, zest with a small hint of cheese-..... omgosh. Yes, yes, and yes. Need my hubs to replicate at home. He is going to be busy trying to perfect this. Tagliatelle with orange and lemon parmesan. This was it. It was the best. Everything else we ordered was amazing as well. Wait outside. They don't have a sign telling you to wait, no server telling you to wait. You wait out there, wondering if you're in the right place, but then people stand behind you and you're like - oh! I'm here. This is the place. There are possibly 4 tables inside. It's small. I read about them being rude- we did not have that problem. In fact, they made a mistake and we kindly let them know we ordered something else- they corrected it and were nice about it.

Our kind waiter bright over water, bread and breadsticks. No olive oil, no butter just dry. For our lunch I decided on the cacio e Pepe and Lisa opted for the ragú. Both were delicious. For dessert we were told the owners mom made lemon cake so that was a no brainer. It was fabulous and paired well with espresso. Our waiter also brought us Amaro. It's a licorice like liqueur enjoyed as a digestif. Definitely an acquired taste that reminded me of Aguardiente. We were both satisfied with our selections. Our meals started with bread service, both fresh bread and packaged breadsticks. We didn't receive any olive oil which might be the norm in Italy. For dessert, we opted for a slice of their featured lemon torta. It was enjoyable and we paired it with espresso. Finally, our server offered us a popular digestivi - Amaro. It reminded me of Jägermeister and I wasn't a fan. But I appreciated the hospitality and kindness of his gesture. In summary, we left content and with full bellies. Our server did a great job and the manager or owner acknowledged us and seemed to appreciate our business. All in all, this lunch was a positive experience.
