If you want delicious pizza by the slice and a great glass of wine. This is the place. The Calice di Chianti is a nice wine to pair with your pizza. They also have many pastries to choose from as well. Check this one out when in Rome

The food the service! Awesome, we may return either the end of this year, or next year!

One of our favorite spots in Rome. So good we ate there twice. The place is adorable and fun inside. The service is fantastic. Friendly and attentive servers both times. The food is beyond delicious.

Food: The pizza was really good, and the meatballs were as well! Portions are also good size for splitting. Service: Food was really fast. Ambiance: There is a ton of seating inside. There are bathrooms as well. It's in a great area of Rome. I would come back to try other dishes!

Ambiance: the overall vibe is less Italian, and their food is generally more adaptive to the taste of international tourists Service: very friendly and patient with questions, provided useful suggestions about their specialities Food & Drink: classic menu for pasta, pizza, and meat entrees LASAGNA "Bolognese" - ***** so creamy and soft with flavorful meat sauce, tasted freshly made in the same day, melting in your mouth, highly recommend Hot Focaccia with E.V.O. Oil and Rosemary - **** very crispy and tasty, recommend Capricciosa - **** tomato, mozzarella, cooked ham, egg olives, artichoke and mushrooms, less traditional Italian pizza but still tasty, recommend Birra Peroni Gran Riserva 0,4 - *** average taste not worth the cost Price: generous portions and affordable prices for food and hefty for drinks, expect €25 per person

Cantina E. Cucina was absolutely refreshing and delicious. We are traveling here in Italy, and it's just amazing to find these spots. We had to wait in line for a bit, but I'd do it all over again, lol. It feels weird since we are from the state and dining in Italian restaurants. America usually over does the Italian "style" and then to just be in an Italian restaurant in Italy you just note there is not style to it. They have their vibe and history, and it's great. The service was perfect and attentive. It amazes me how many languages our hosts knew. We had Swiss German, Spanish, and English, and we were all able to communicate effectively. They were polite. Fun and just made the experience amazing. Food wise... Cantina E hit all the musical notes. It all was fresh, as you can get with distinct flavors. The Caprese was so amazing that we got two. The flavors' breads with them made it sooooo much better. We got two pizzas, which were so good with a light, crispy crust and flavorful. Both dishes were fantastic. The ravioli was stuffed to perfection, and you could taste ever cheese and sauce. This was definitely one of my favorite restaurants to go to while in Italy... I recommend this to anyone.

I was drawn to Cantina e Cucina due to all the great reviews I saw & photos made the food look super delicious. It's located near Piazza Navona & lots of restaurants in this area seem quite popular & busy, including this one. When we got here, there was already a line/queue. The wait was about 30ish minutes for a table of 4. We ordered the bruschetta, 2 tonnarello spaghetti w/ meatballs, lasagna, & gnocchi w/ clams. All of the dishes were very underwhelming & mid. Spaghetti was undercooked, flavor for all the dishes were severely lacking. Our server also charged us extra for flatbread when we didn't order it + didn't touch it. Did not enjoy Cantina e Cucina & would not come back here.

Don't tell Garfield about the lasagna here. It is truly magical. I'm not sure how they made this lasagna light as a feather yet oh so rich. As melty as each bite was, the structure of the lasagna stayed true and didn't collapse into an awful swimming pool of wrecked pasta sheets, watery tomato sauce and gut busting cheese. Yes, you know what I'm talking about, when the pasta sheets are overcooked prior to assembling, wilting under the enormous pressure of holding up layer after layer of sauce and cheese, contributing to a plate of what looks like a messy baked ziti when it is all said and done. Don't get me wrong, I like baked ziti but baked ziti is a weeknight, let's mash everything together, I-need-a-shower, after work quick meal. Lasagna is Sunday table best and each bite should represent as intended, each layer, a perfect bite. This lasagna was that truely perfect layered bite. I've never made a plate of lasagna disappear faster than the one I was served here. Garfield couldn't have eaten it any faster than I did. If lasagna was like this everywhere I'd be eating more lasagna in my life. Their rendition of spaghetti and meatballs were delicious, although the meatballs were a little more dense than the others I tried in Italy. The steak was also a tough chew, but maybe it was because I had just tried a Bistec Florentine the night before. Of the side dishes I tried, the potatoes were delicious. Get the potatoes as a side if feel you need more carbs. LOL. I wanted dinner at 6pm and didn't wait at all on a Friday night which I know isn't the norm. This was also yet another meal where I doggie bagged unfinished business but believe me it was finished before the evening passed. LOL. Edited 6/8/24 - Thanks to John D for reminding it was Garfield not Heathcliff. Thanks John!

Perf spot to end my visit to Rome! I went at a weird time, so was able to pick a little table in the corner. The staff was soooo sweet and def made the meal even better - which was tough because the cacio e Pepe was perfect. Portions are big, so expect a heavier meal if you get pasta (in a good way lol).

The food, service and atmosphere was amazing! Our waiter (Ali) was phenomenal! He was able to keep us laughing while working on numerous other tables...made our night! The pasta was out of this world, and my son swore the carbonara and tiramisu were the best he's ever had! We'll definitely be returning! If you're visiting Rome, Cantina e Cucina is a must!

The pasta here is amazing. I had an amazing Tonnarello Carbonara (Pasta Carbonara) and my husband had the Tonnarello (pasta with meatballs) which he loved. Their pasta noodles were sooooooo much better than what you get in the US and their carbonara is by far the best carbonara I've had in my life! Also their Tiramisu was also the best I've ever had. It was so creamy!!! If you are visiting Rome I highly recommend you dine here once.

The food was great. We got the lasagna. Carbonara, pizza and tiramisu. All was delicious. The service was great as soon as we walked in. Alfonso was very friendly and helpful.

What a cool and chic cocktail bar!…read more My husband and I visited Peaky Blinders kind of by mistake. We were on our way to Jerry Thomas Speakeasy and turned into the wrong street and saw their bright red door. We didn't stop here at first and went on our way to Jerry Thomas. Like always, JT was packed and they said they probably wouldn't have any openings until 1am (it was 9pm). We decided to go back and check out that cute little bar with the bright red door and were quickly welcomed by the owner and staff. This bar is inspired by the show Peaky Blinders and they have a lot of decor that goes in connection to the show. At the time of ordering our drinks, they told us that they didn't have a lot of the ingredients for most of the cocktails in the menu because they couldn't find fresh ingredients in the market and they are very particular as to what they serve to their customers. The owner quickly asked us what we were in the mood for and that he would prepare something unique just for us. I asked him for something fresh, but not too sweet with gin or vodka. He delivered exactly what I asked him and it was the most delicious drinks ever! I was honestly inspired by how passionate he was about the produce he was using in his cocktails, and how much love and dedication he had for serving the best of the best.

We had an old fashioned, a Daiquiri, and an English Rose (sweet, complex) on the first day, all of which were perfect. I spent 2 or more hours sitting and talking at a comfortable volume, listening to chill music. Lorenzo was our bartender for most of our trip (but we also just met Igino, who is also a great bartender!!), and every drink he made us was exactly what we wanted. On our second day, we had the Manhattan, Lorenzo's version of the English Rose, and a Moscow Mule. Then a new drink with cranberry and almond, another Lorenzo English Rose (because my cousin tasted it and loved it), and another Old Fashioned. Igino also made us some amazing drinks based on what we liked about our other drinks, and made us feel so welcome. Not only are the bartenders, drinks, music, and atmosphere amazing here, but the people who come here and chat with you are also super chill and friendly. You can tell that people who come to this bar are familiar with this place and love it as much as we already do. As cool as some of the bars in this city are, this one is one you can feel at home in. Definitely stop by, because you won't regret it, and you'll probably find yourself coming back as many days as you're here.

We wandered in here before dinner in the Trastevere area of Rome looking for a high end cocktail. This place does not disappoint. The decor reminds me of Mardi Gras meets Prohibition... the cocktail menu is unique and the mixologist is simply outstanding. A jazz club for American tourists…read more Okay, there was one Australian lady and a few Chinese. Everyone else was American. Prices are sky-high because this is a soak the tourist situation. Alexanderplatz which is the premiere jazz club in Rome charges $18 euros for a month membership - no cover after that - and $12 per drink. So once you have paid your monthly cover charge, you can hear all the jazz you want for free - or if need be for $12 euros a drink At Alexanderplatz, the performances are legendary with some of the most innovative and technically amazing musicians in Rome. We dropped over $150 euros at Gregory's. We got a perfectly reasonable yeoman guitarist. But nothing like the artistic lions that routinely perform over at Alexanderplatz. Now to be fair, we had dinner at Gregory's and we never eat at Alexanderplatz. The standard "sushi dinner" was perfectly reasonable yeoman sushi. There was so little of it that we both had to order a la carte dishes afterwards. The extra extras seriously expanded the final tab. * * * One argument in Gregory's favor: their bar is extraordinary. The bar at Alexanderplatz is mediocre. Gregory's charges top dollar for its bar offerings, but what they mix and what is in their bottles is worth every single euro they ask for. I would be perfectly happy to just go to the bar, and order a few premium beverages. I would hear my wallet cry. But I would know that I was drinking supremely well in return for my investment. Fortunately, the bar is downstairs from the club. I would not have to put up with the shenanigans in the club. * * * The problem with the club is the crowd. At most, one third of the customers are actually there to listen to jazz. The room is filled with tourists taking selfies. There are also hot-daters playing snuggle-buns. Many of them will leave mid-set so they can go back to the hotel. Gregory's is less about the music and more about selling happy memories of Rome. * * * Alexanderplatz gets a mostly Italian crowd. You are looking as musicians, music critics, academics, and all purpose artsy types - as well as normal Italian human beings who just want to hear fine music. The music is taken very very seriously. Yeah, there are usually two or three tables with good time Charlies who are doing the phone recording, party hearty thing. But this is 8% of the audience at Alexanderplatz as opposed to 70% of the audience at Gregory's. To be fair to the crowd at Gregory's, the music at Alexanderplatz is simply better. The jazz at Alexanderplatz is capable of transfixing even philistines with tin ears. Gregory's jazz doesn't put that much on the table. But the crowd at Alexanderplatz sets me up for listening to mystic, complex music with the highest level of attention and aesthetic receptiveness. The crowd at Gregory's just gets me irritated. * * * If you are in Rome with a hot date, go to Gregory's. Be prepared to shell out the bucks. * * * If you are in Rome with someone who can truly appreciate once-in-a-lifetime musical experiences, take them to Alexanderplatz. After you talk about the music for half an hour after the concert, You can still go back to the hotel. Just figure that the hotel will be the second best part of the night.
