Mr. Sherman's office completed my aunt's final tax return, calculated and mailed out all 24 1099 forms for the beneficiaries and provided copies of everything to me. He provided an audit representation guarantee that I did not need - but was good to have as an assurance. I do my own taxes using tax software, but will definitely go to Mr. Sherman when I no longer can figure it out myself - and I am reaching that point! I guess it makes it easier for them to "explain it away", oh this part of the tax code changed (insert the current year you're filing your taxes), or you should make these changes (.....................), it "May" help out NEXT year, last year it was this change; this year it's a different section of the tax code that's changed, blah blah blah, etc. etc. - but miraculously, the changes Always seemed to impact us! So, lately the trend for the last number of years is that we have ended up Owing and no refund at all! What are the odds? Could it be that we are partly responsible, yes, could it also be that they are taking advantage of us? We've only been using them as our only tax preparers for the better part of a decade, Nearly a full decade - So perhaps the familiarity has given way to opportunity. I'll never know So that is why I'm not 100% totally convinced or sold on the pitch that each and every year post-covid, we've somehow managed to make just the right mistakes that ended up negating our chances of receiving a refund. When I went home I noticed SIMPLE words like "birthdate", "Mexican" and " Appeared" were misspelled. I had to make a 2nd trip back & they let me know their dad (no name given just their daddy) does the translations & he won't be back until tomorrow. (I thought they said they weren't open weekend?...) I had my appointment with my lawyer today where I needed this document. I already waited over a week for a half done job. If you were to read it yourself , you would know instantly that the person who typed it didn't review/reread his POORLY done work.. If you're an establishment that translates PLEASE MAKE IT AN REQUIREMENT TO KNOW HOW TO SPELL OR ELSE YOU AREN'T FIT FOR THE JOB. He needs to retire or the DMV needs to revoke his certification ASAP!!! It's extremely dangerous if you can't even spell correctly. They're supposed to be an establishment that understands the importance of PAYING ATTENTION TO DETAIL, TIME MANAGEMENT & COMMUNICATION. I could tell they didn't take my document, time and frustration seriously. They refused to give me my refund unless I gave them back the document that wasn't good to begin with. When I was handed my money & copy of my non translated birth certificate, they gave my a little boy's picture passport with his social security number. I noticed as I was walking out & I gave it back to them. Even your own documents aren't safe at this establishment because I could've easily been the wrong person to be given that info. The women must've been embarrassed because they had a full waiting room & tried to say I grab it. No accountability at all. Not one single brain cell in this establishment.
