We were…read moreable to get an appointment for a Saturday with a less than one week wait, which is impressive considering Saturdays are one of their busiest days during tax season. The tax agent we worked with was very friendly and knowledgable, but we felt like we had to watch her closely as she entered the information into the system, because several times she misspelled words or entered incorrect numbers. That was a little taxing. (See what I did there?) In the end, though, we're confident she prepared the taxes correctly. This H&R Block is in a lively shopping center, which includes Qdoba, Mellow Mushroom, Play It Again Sports and Marsh. There's plenty of parking.

They neglected to prepare and submit all the appropriate forms and payments our business should have submitted. We now have fines for $3,673 from the State. H&R Block refuses to take responsibility and reimburse, saying we should have known about that form they forgot. That's the whole point of going to H&R Block -- for them to tell us everything we need to do. They've left me holding the bag for thousands and thousands of dollars.

Kent started out as a CPA specializing in tax accounting, but added to his education and practice with his law degree. With both disciplines, he has gone on to specialize in estate and trust planning. We simply brought in our old documents and discussed our wishes along with the impact of the new laws. We had a few follow up communications and then a final one to sign our documents. Throughout the process, we were pleased with his professionalism as well as his friendly manner. Though he now specializes in trust and estate planning (including wills, powers of attorney, etc), his son has joined the office to handle the tax accounting. I also used his son's expertise to file an amended tax return. I am not sure if they require recommendations for new clients or not, but you definitely need to schedule an appointment to get in for either service. If you have anyone who depends upon you and you've begun building up assets for retirement, make sure that you have your documents in order to carry out your wishes and not leave your loved ones to have to figure it out/fight over what to do. We are very satisfied with knowing that if anything happens to either one of us, dealing with problems will be much easier having chosen Kent Shipley to put our documents in order. Review #3759

The second time it was out of my skill set and he had to do some repair. I told him I had a trip planned and needed it ASAP. Earl said he had a gently used part at the shop he could use or he could order me a new one. I told him I was fine with the used one. Earl did the work and didn't even charge me for the part, just the labor. Just recently I was on Lake Monroe and the alarm was going off on the boat and I couldn't figure out why. After about 30 minutes of trouble shooting and my girlfriend yelling at me, I called Earl and he was able to diagnose the problem over the phone and tell me how to fix it. From my experience at Quality Craft I'd say the service has been very professional and honest and I will continue to take my boat there for any maintenance.

On Dec 17, 2025, I requested that our car insurance be canceled on Jan 14, 2026, as we were switching agencies. I was told that would be fine and the policy end date would be added to the "notes" in our account. Unbeknownst to us, our car insurance was actually canceled on Jan 4, 2026 leaving us uninsured for 10 days until our new policy started. Wow, what stellar customer service. We only found this out after seeing a refund deposited into our bank account and then logging in to our insurance account and finding that the car insurance policy had been removed. Also, during the phone conversation on Dec 17, I requested that our renter's insurance policy be canceled on April 3, 2026. I subsequently was contacted four times between Dec 17 and March 2026, asking what I would like to do with our renter's insurance. I repeated myself every single time and was told that the end date would be added to the "notes" in our account. I called the office on April 10, 2026 and was told that the renter's insurance policy had not been canceled as requested because the manager was awaiting confirmation from me in order to cancel it. Where was that phone call, manager? The incompetence and unreliability is real. Save yourself the stress and irritation; there are SO MANY better qualified agencies available.
