I was able to get my refund this year after the IRS only tried to give me a small portion. Tax Box Refund was able to assist me in calling to fix the paper work that the IRS needed. It does costs around $500- $1000 to file with them so consider that when filing but know that you're in great hands. When I first walked in, Chuck, the owner, came off as very confident and reassuring. He made it seem like I was in good hands and promised a solid return. Unfortunately, that was nothing more than a front. After filing, I was told everything was processed and I'd be receiving both my federal and state tax returns. Weeks passed, and I received only the federal portion. The state refund never came. I tried calling multiple times--no answer. I stopped by the office several times--Chuck was never there. His staff was incredibly unhelpful, always giving me vague answers like, "We're not sure when he'll be back," or "You'll have to speak to Chuck about that." But Chuck was nowhere to be found and made absolutely no effort to return calls or follow up. At this point, it's clear to me this business is running a scam. Once they get what they want from you, they ghost you completely. There's no accountability, no transparency, and definitely no professionalism. I've learned my lesson for being gullible with these people that don't know what they're doing, young adults in training and we're the guinea pigs for their THIEVERY. This place is horrible. Filed 1/31. The preparer entered my bank account information wrong so it couldn't get direct deposited. Got a call 3/19 that they had my check and was mailing it out. From 3/19 til today, I have been told not only has it not been mailed out, but they had to reprint it. You would be a fool to file with them. I rather not get much back and just file with Turbo Tax from now on. I always use my tax return to take my kids to Disney. And because of this horrible establishment we will have to miss out for the first time in 6 years while the rest of the family is leaving this Friday. They charge about $100 in hidden fees ON TOP OF CHARGING $400 for 1 W2 and then they charge you another $200 for "IRS PROTECTION" which they basically force you to sign up for. I received another call back from front office stating usually if you owe the tax preparer doesn't call until you give the ok for them to complete your taxes. Where do I start ...... horrible customer service from the phone reps. Takes days to receive a call back , no phone rep wants to answer the simple question of how a call back works. Initially filed taxes virtually by sending my documents via email ... not sent a protected link btw never heard back from the agent Danel. that was to work on my taxes. Ended up walking in office and was assisted by Moya who seemed to be sweet , helpful and knowledgeable and the only reason for the two stars on that day 2/17. Spoke to someone today 3/4 as I filed the 17th of February I decided after a week to check the status on the irs website. I continue to get an error message stating the information doesn't match. I am so disappointed with this place! I came here in hopes that they could help me receive the most and that they would be professional. I felt severely pressured to do my return with them when I got there after they told me that their fees were $400 to file. I have never paid that much ever filing for my taxes! My friend brought me to their Credit Repair Workshop. I am trying to get an apartment and move out so I really needed help with my credit. I knew the basics like pay bills on time, but they showed me more. Like how to write a letter and get a negative mark taken off. I called the number from the Instagram Post to make sure I was getting back the most and I to make sure I won't owe this year. We spoke for about 20 minutes and Chuck asked me several questions. I felt relieved because he was so knowledgeable. He was giving me information on saving, budgeting, how to save more on taxes. BUYER BEWARE!!!!! 1st of all one of their student representatives told me that I would get my taxes done for free and get a $100 check as well for going to Tax Box to get my taxes done there. Now I know it sounded too good to be true but I go in anyway. When I ask them how much it was going to cost before they did them, they said they couldn't answer me and it's based on my taxes Then I asked what if it's too much and I don't wanna pay for it the person named Mike told me we could discuss that and come to an agreement after it's done. After Mike finished my taxes, He then told me I had to pay $400 to get my taxes done. That was more than half of what I was going to get back. And he didn't want to budge on the price. Then I talk to a manager I got the price reduced a tiny and I was willing to pay it so I did. Mike then told me I was going get a copy of my taxes in in email along with the bill, 4 days later I still haven't received any email and Mike is not returning my calls! I dont even think he put them in! Where is my email Mike? Update to last review....I don't know how they did it but they got even worse! Found out about TaxBox Refund through their sponsored post on Instagram. I messaged them about a free quote and they got back to me within a few minutes. That same night they called me and pressured me about going through with filing for taxes through them. I told them I needed some time to think and they were very pushy and reluctant to give me that time, but they did finally oblige. A few days later I called them and let them know I'd like to file taxes through them. They sent me the documents to fill out and then stated that they'd be filing that same day. However, they didn't actually file my taxes that same day, or at all for that matter. I reached out to them a few times and they just always gave me the run around, told me they'd call me but never did. The CEO himself was always posting pictures of himself on his Instagram, so I reached out to him. He seemed helpful at first, but all he always told me is that they'd call, but they either wouldn't, or they'd call to tell me they'd be calling me back another day, to which they never did. Eventually, the CEO himself started making excuses, telling me he wasn't the one running his own account, even though the account had nothing but stories and pictures of him. He would read my messages but not respond to me, but he was able to post stories about him "working." I ended up finding out over a month later that they never filed my taxes, and I only found out because I told them not to file my taxes and that I'd be going elsewhere. Overall, I had a horrible horrible experience, and I would not recommend them to absolutely anyone. Go somewhere else. read more

Worst tax customer service experience. First, I made an appointment the day before with Moya for 11a sharp the next day Sat. Morning. I got there at 11a, she wasn't there, and of course with an appointment made, I was expecting to be helped right away or at least within the first 10 min. But no. I waited 15 min before the lady got up to tell me to sign a form. BE COMMUNICATIVE! That should be the first thing you should address the guest when they walk in! Not even that, I finally sat down to be helped at 11:40a just to have a 10 min conversation with Chuk saying he can't do my paperwork because I need certain documents that prove my online business's account transactions, when I've already had an accountant go through all that.
