Dr Newbegin has treated me during this period and what an excellent doctor she is ,her knowledge, helpfulness and communication skills ( essential in a diverse community such as Fawdon ) are first class, she is a credit to the group. The nurses , also , are worthy of praise , they welcome you like a long lost friend and are very skilled with your treatment. The reception team have to bear the brunt of an entire nations problems (appointments ) and they do it with control and politeness . Overall, I am very happy with the service. The health centre or clinic is located behind the top end of Bedlington Front Street, beside the…read morelibrary. There is a private car park with many spaces available including two disabled spaces very near to the entrance. There is also a carpark adjacent to the clinic. If you are driving to the clinic take the road leading up the bank alongside the entrance side of the Netto store and take the first right. The clinic has two sets of sliding doors which open automatically and which provde easy access for disabled people and those with prams. Inside there is a small waiting area with soft chairs. There is a small area especially for childen where they can play with books and toys. There is a reception desk at the left hand side with a small window where you can talk to a staff member to make appointments etc. The clinic now has a self check in service if you have an appointment with a GP or nurse. This works electronically and is located at the farthest end of the room after you enter. When the doctor is ready to see you your name comes up on a electronic screen mounted on the wall. This beeps when the name changes. I find this a little invasive and a bit of a challenge to privacy but it saves the staff some trouble. The doctors rooms are located in a maze of corridors. Sometimes the doctor will leave the door open or greet you in the corridor. There are mostly male GP's but if you are a female you can sometimes arrange to see a female doctor if it is an intimate issue.

I decided to come here to do acupuncture treatment after my local GP made all the blood examination…read moreand stated that nothing was wrong with my health despite me having reccuring hot flashes, chronic fatigue and a very low energy level. To be perfectly frank, I came for the acupuncture without having much expectation, which helped me to see if it really works in an unbiased manner. Having done 3 sessions or acupuncture and medical massage a week for approximately 3 weeks, I noticed a steep improvement: the hot flashes reduced in frequency, my energy level was restored to the extent where I could function normally again and deal with the colossal workload without feeling sick. I also noticed my fatigue gradually disappearing. At this moment, after receiving acupuncture and medical massage for 3 months, I can confidently tell that it did help me immensely, and now I am successfully back on track with my work and life. Personally, I felt the greatest effect after combining acupuncture with the medical massage in one session. Hence, I'd highly recommend this to everybody who has similar health problems.
For my birthday last year, I was treated to a session at The Body Detox Clinic. Before this visit I…read morehad never had colonic irregation in my life and was curious to see what it was like. Unlike a lot of people who have this treatment, I was there to investigate for curiousity's sake and not because I have/have had a chronic illness. The whole thing must have taken no more than an hour and that includes waiting a bit before and after. The session cost £60.00 and they gave me a voucher for a free hydro massage (review to follow). Before the day, the session had been booked weeks before over the phone and I was nervously looking forward to the unknown and reading other people's reviews on C.Is. It wasn't until I walked into the clinic when my legs started feeling trembly and nerves set in. Sometimes it's good to feel like this. The clinic itself is on the top floor of a converted office building with a modern, clean, calm and fresh feel to it. You are greeted by a receptionist and asked to fill in a form with basic details and reasons for being there. This is to make sure you don't get treatment carried out if you state you have specific medical conditions or you're pregnant etc. A professional member of A.R.C.H (Association and register of Colon Hydro Therapists) came out to the waiting area and took me through to the private treatment room. Everything was immaculate, sterile, clean and the therapist made sure I felt comfortable. Well, atleast tried her best to. A coffee enema was given first which took about 15 minutes. Then came the colonic irregation which was very bizarre. A strange sensation that can only be described asstrange. I was talking to the therapist throughout the process and she was telling me average facts and figures. The facts and figures of my session were by no means average but if you want the gory details, message me. People asked me whether I would go back and do it all again but I'm still trying to work that one out. If I was told by a Dr/hospital that I should then I'd have no problem however, I wouldn't go back for the fun of it. If you want to do a bit of internal spring cleaning then it's worth a session. I felt fresh and revived after my treatment and recommend it to people who want to try something new.
