    Covered walking bridge.

Many great small businesses line the street of Taylors Falls. Some indie restaurants, (no Applebees)! An indie mom and popper coffee shop. A drive in root beer stand for old times sake. The connection along the river leading to Interstate Park across Hwy 8. You don't have to try to run across hwy as there is a path with a walking bridge and small boardwalk along the river. This looks like a together community and it one of my favorite walking areas to chill.

We went to Taylors Falls for the drive-by light parade on Thanksgiving weekend. We arrived a few minutes before 6 p.m. and enjoyed driving down the road seeing all the lit-up businesses and parade units. Since we arrived early, we were able to easily go back and see the parade a second time, but in the opposite direction. We were so happy that Taylors Falls and the parade coordinators thought out-of-the-box to offer something fun and safe to do during the pandemic!

I love canoeing down st croix river at taylors falls. We bring our canoe there at least twice each year and if we have guest from out of town, this is where we will take them. It's about 35 miles from Minneapolis but the drive is the quintessential Midwest flat hills with barn. Along the way you drive through some small Swedish towns. The river offers very scenic view of the greenery and rocky bluffs. The water is calm and safe most of the time. Lots of parking available at the launch. Floating down this river is the ultimate and perfect summer day for me.

Beginning of October when the colors are just starting to peek through.

Love this place! Worse the drive for sure. Little slower than some of the others in area but great hikes, antiques and food!

Their rentals + shuttle are super affordable and website really easy to use to book the trip. I prepaid shuttle and rental of 2 solo kayaks ahead of time; the morning of our planned paddle, I received a courtesy text from Captain Andrew letting us know strong S winds were forecast for the day and that the paddle will likely be more challenging in case we wanted to reschedule / cancel. He happily accommodated my request to reschedule us for the following day free of charge and zero hassle for me! When we arrived the next day, staff were so friendly, welcoming, and informative-- carried our equipment down to the launch site, encouraged us to take our time and have fun and then got us on our way. We had a beautiful paddle, really went slow and took our time birding along the river and so what could have been done in 2.5-3 hours, took my husband and I more like 4 hours- it was fantastic! Staff were ready and waiting to assist us with carrying kayaks and equipment at the exit point. I highly recommend Riverwood and we will definitely be back for another paddle via them again- hopefully next spring!

I've kayaked the St. Croix many times with other outfitters, so I was expecting a similar relaxing…read moreriver float down stream. This experience was completely different. The route Eric's uses is north of the dam, where there is essentially no current. Instead of floating downstream, I found myself paddling continuously for about four hours similar to being on a lake. It was an unexpectedly strenuous workout, ten miles of continuously paddling for four hours straight, and by the end I was genuinely concerned that I could be injured. The staff was friendly and the equipment was fine, so this isn't a criticism of the business itself. My suggestion is simply that customers should be clearly told what they're signing up for. If you're athletic, experienced, or looking for a serious workout, this may be exactly what you want. But if you're expecting the kind of leisurely St. Croix float, this is not that experience. I have recovered completely, but I wish someone had said, "Just so you know, this isn't a float trip, you'll be paddling the whole way." That one conversation would have helped me choose a route that better matched what I was looking for.
