But if you are going to go down the St. Croix you need to go with Riverwood! The shuttle ride at the beginning left promptly and got use to the launch. The team at Riverwood were carrying boats down and had some already staged. I enjoy the beauty of being launched at Wisconsin Interstate Park! Once on the water we saw bald eagles, turtles, fish & geese. We even had a floating lunch! At the end we actually ran over to the WI side of the river to explore cascade falls in Osceola before paddling back to the landing on the MN side where they were waiting to drive us immediately back to our cars! I love the river and how Riverwood makes it easy & affordable for so many to enjoy it!

We even turned it down to the lowest setting but still didn't help. It was great they had a pool and splash pad but they didn't open until 10 and while the sign said closed at 8, the online policy you sign said it closed at dusk. We went just after 8 and were told it was closed. We pointed out the policy and was told they had to update the website. It was disappointing and not a great impression. The camping spaces are very close together and for the price to stay in the wagon ($175/night) you have to bring basically everything to cook and stay. Overall it's fine for a little getaway and we live close but I probably won't come back.

The route Eric's uses is north of the dam, where there is essentially no current. Instead of floating downstream, I found myself paddling continuously for about four hours similar to being on a lake. It was an unexpectedly strenuous workout, ten miles of continuously paddling for four hours straight, and by the end I was genuinely concerned that I could be injured. The staff was friendly and the equipment was fine, so this isn't a criticism of the business itself. My suggestion is simply that customers should be clearly told what they're signing up for. If you're athletic, experienced, or looking for a serious workout, this may be exactly what you want. But if you're expecting the kind of leisurely St. Croix float, this is not that experience. I have recovered completely, but I wish someone had said, "Just so you know, this isn't a float trip, you'll be paddling the whole way." That one conversation would have helped me choose a route that better matched what I was looking for.

The day was great - mid 70s with reasonable wind, low current, and the river is very pretty and scenic. We liked that Eric's new location didn't require us to wait to get picked up and returned to our vehicle like the older location he had. We've used Eric's about 5x over the last 20 years and he has always been helpful and reliable. Thanks for helping my wife and I and our friends have a really nice day! This local family owned business was purchased from the previous owner last year. They have brand new (last year) top of the line Bennington pontoons that you can rent in various hourly increments and a beautiful lake to explore. You can swim, fish or just toodle around the lake and live your best life. You can also rent kayaks here. The owners are really nice and super helpful. The dock hands can give you info on the best place to drop anchor for whatever type of excusion you desire. And they even have drinks and snacks for sale in case you forgot yours. My afternoon here was one of the most relaxing afternoons I've had in a really long time and I can't wait to come back again!

RIVER TUBING REVIEW…read more I will choose this place again and again! Only a 35 minute drive from St Paul. Very well run - you show up, pay for tubes and rope to connect your group, can turn your keys in to the desk, and your on your way! It took us 2 hours to get down the river in mid July. I was told that's quick! There are picnic tables along the route where people stop and gather. They pick you up in a bus at the end (clearly marked) and it's a 5 minute drive back to your car. The river was clean enough, we didn't run into TOO many trees haha. Wear shoes too, the bottom of the river is rocky. It was $20 a tube, $1 for rope, and we did buy an extra tube for our cooler of drinks. Bring a cooler! It costs $20 even if you bring your own tube. I can PROMISE they won't run out of tubes, ever, which was a fear of mine haha. My only feedback is they need to get tubes with cup holders haha. Wear sunscreen and have a DD! Again I will be back here, great Saturday activity!!

When we showed up it was drizzling and the employees actually recommended against us going because people get cold when it's raining but we wanted to go anyway & fortunately it stopped. (Everything I read on yelp before this was the company wanted to get every cent they cut out of you etc. this was counter to that and they were definitely customer friendly) All the employees were very nice to us, told everyone what to expect, got our equipment tubes and we got a cooler tube And we were off. On the tail end of the river their employee was there waiting for us load it up and got in the truck to go back no problems whatsoever. The other family we went with had not been b4 & had three kids and had a total blast said they would definitely go back. Very relaxing day I would say we were there on a Thursday and I'm sure it gets crazy on the weekends but our experience was very peaceful met a few other families on the river, had a few drinks and snacks and a great day overall!!
