My wedding was kinda still during the height of covid, but everything seemed to be going well until the week of my wedding when I rec'd a text from her that she was not going to be able to shoot at my wedding bc she wasn't feeling well. I obviously was upset bc my contract was with her, but I had to be understanding of the situation too. What I didn't like was I had to trust a colleague of hers (Heather) who I had never met and didn't meet until my wedding day to take the best pictures possible. She did mediocre, and didn't capture very many couples pics nor family pics. (So glad I had relatives and friends who brought cameras. Most took better pics than the paid photographer, but I didn't pay them, I paid Kindred Souls for quality pics). She kinda rushed through our main pics and all the outdoor pics are hideous. Amber stated though she couldn't shoot my wedding, she'd do the editing, but she was sooo hard to get a hold of regarding status of my prints and just communication PERIOD! My wedding was in September and I didn't get my photos till mid December. I'd say I'm patient, but 4 months is ridiculous. When I sent my favorites back to her for editing I advised her they were not the clearest they could be and were too dark and to reedit. Here we are at the end of February and I still haven't heard back from Amber. Truly UNprofessional, poor customer service and a bad look on this business. They don't have to worry about me referring ANYONE to them! A waste of almost $1800, sigh.

It took us 26 years to realize our own attempts at family photos didn't capture the experiences the way we wished they did. My wife and I decided to get a professional pictures taken this year. We came across Danielle's website and were attracted to her work with large families as well as being a local to the kings beach area. As soon as we met Danielle, we knew it was going to be a good fit. Her humor was very similar to ours, and she knew how to apply the right amount mixed with direction to keep the process flowing. Our family covered 4 generations, with ages ranging from 84 to 18months. She was able to limit the impact and movement to the older folks while providing a treasure chest of little toys to entice the little ones. The pictures were painless, even with a group 20+ pale, squinty eyed people! After the shoot, approx 4 hrs later, Danielle returned with a projector, screen and ipad to review the photos and let us make our choices. It was so fun to sit around with the family and see the final product. This was a no pressure consultation and there was no upselling. We chose to go with a digital package allowing, us to share with the large family. We had to promise to get them printed (anywhere) eventually so they could be enjoyed and looked at every day. We continuously get complements on our photos. We also get some disbelief thinking that pictures that good can't be real. "There's no way that background is real", "That's not REALLY at Tahoe, is it?" I can't say enough good things about Danielle. She was a perfect fit for our family and I highly recommend her. As our kids grow (3 and 1.5 now) we'll definitely use her in the future.

However, after having a call with him, coordinating via email, and face timing, we were confident in having him shoot for our wedding. It was the absolute worst weather in about a decade, but nonetheless, Gabriel showed up on time with his assistant and got right to work. He took some gorgeous photos and I think it wasn't easy to work with us because our room was so messy from pre-partying the night before, the guys were all over the place and nowhere to be found at times (not their fault, our timeline wasn't accurate) and everyone was so busy working on last-minute wedding stuff. It was a very stressful day due to Atlantis hotel being SO unhelpful - but that's reserved for another review! Let's talk about Gabriel here. He had a creative eye for photos and worked quickly. We got some beautiful shots that took little to no time setting up because of his experience. The only hiccup we had wasn't Gabriel's fault. We didn't take proper photos with each table. I think that was on the DJ to announce it and he never did. Neither did our coordinators or anyone else. I wish we had done so earlier because no one was on that, which is a big part of your photos. However, Gabriel was nice enough to stay back a little bit longer after we begged him to go around and take a photo with each table and he did. We received our photos in a very timely manner. At around 2 weeks, we were able to view them online. At 3 weeks, we received a beautiful flash drive with all 1400+ photos in there. I was a little suspicious because he was so affordable (wedding photography typically runs upwards of $2k and Gabriel was well below the average cost). I called him up and we hit it off immediately. He was happy to listen to everything I was looking for and interested in knowing more about my fiance and myself to get a better overview of what we desired. Upon request, he allowed me to view additional galleries of weddings he had shot recently. He was also more than happy to meet me (45 minute drive for him) when I booked a trip back to California to tie up the loose ends before the wedding just so we could meet in person and talk! Gabriel is so friendly and willing to make any and all of your photography needs a reality! He really has that eye for beautiful shots that cannot be taught. My wedding ceremony was unplugged (only Gabriel was allowed to take pictures) and he did a fantastic job capturing every single moment! Not only that, he goes above and beyond what is contracted! Not only did he take the EXTRA time (we were contracted for 6 hours) to make sure every shot was captured, he even helped taxi some of the bridesmaids to the venue last minute! The cost of his service includes ALL of the high resolution edited images he takes and an online gallery. We ended up with over 1400 amazing pictures!! The online gallery of images was ready almost immediately after our wedding and the flash drive was in our hands less than a month after!
