He exemplifies everything you hope to find in an emergency physician. He was thorough, knowledgeable, patient, compassionate, and took the time to explain everything in a way that gave us confidence and peace of mind during a very stressful situation. His bedside manner is truly remarkable. In today's world, it is easy to hear stories about what goes wrong in health care. The third admission, she never made it home, as she had a bronchoscopy procedure. Something went wrong--haven't found out yet, but somehow the intubation tube was lost or dislodged, and she went into cardiac arrest. Alex caught it as she arrived in the ICU and called code, but there was no telling how long she was in respiratory arrest prior to cardiac arrest. I could go on but i will stop there. Just a word of caution: trust but verify. Ask many questions, especially upon discharge. For anything invasive, even a simple procedure get a 2nd opinion

Personal Discharge Review - HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital zRoom 211…read more I was discharged from HCA Florida St. Lucie Hospital in Port St. Lucie after receiving only one unit of blood, although I have previously required three units during past transfusions. The doctor who discharged me told me that my labs looked good, even though I was still experiencing symptoms like throbbing palpitations in my head and insomnia. These symptoms had partially subsided but were still present at the time of discharge. However, the name listed on my discharge paperwork is that of the ER DR. NOT The Dr who discharged me! Because my symptoms continued, I followed up with labs at Quest Diagnostics, which showed that my hemoglobin remained low, contradicting what I was told at the hospital. I am now preparing to go to a different emergency room due to these ongoing issues.

Doctor's don't order necessary testing, etc. I've had Doctor's lie to my face about things they told me the prior day. This hospital is dangerous. I'd be interested to see how many lawsuits they have pending. Do not trust them with your body or your life. Any person in that hospital needs a friend/family member advocate with the at all times to prevent medical negligence. Go to Tradition instead.
