1602 ave U Brooklyn branch is 2.4 star rated out of 5 and now I understand why. I'm a business owner and spent 1 hour waiting for representative to have a seat and discuss two our business accounts. Was no line , all tailors was free and speaking to each other, 4 representatives at the tables , three of them was serving one family for hour and half opening joint account all tree of them it is funny , other one was at the computer non stop, 3 clients left front of me. I was waiting till past moment , chinese representatives don't speak English well and hard to communicate , beside that they were teaching them. This location managing by very poor management. I have 3 accounts at TD bank and like their convenience , but this branch was unacceptable. read more

TD Bank is America's Most Convenient Bank. This particular branch is conveniently located at 26th and 7th. I do not have a TD Bank account; however, they conveniently let anyone use The Penny Arcade, which conveniently converts your change into a little piece of paper that you take to the counter, where they give you money in exchange. The Penny Arcade has an embarrassingly loud little girl's voice that tells you what to do, even though it is absurdly easy to use. This is only convenient if you are deaf and very stupid (as opposed to dumb). Everyone that worked at TD Bank was very friendly, and oddly eager to help me with The Penny Arcade that no one should need help with. This includes the nice lady who answered the phone when I called to find out their hours and the details on The Penny Arcade. I really thought my enormous container full of change would've amounted to more money than it was. I'm an experienced Coinstarsman, but perhaps I am out of practice, as I vastly overestimated the amount of money a Barrel 'O Blunts holds. Either that or TD Bank is taking an undisclosed percentage. If you have just a few dollars in change, I highly recommend going in there, dropping it in the penny arcade. If you guess within a dollar or so, they will give you a nice little computer brush. read more

On Thursday midday, I had to come here for an ATM withdrawal. I made a withdrawal but when i looked at my balance it seemed low. I knew my direct deposit was pending but still seemed low to me. I went to a teller and got my question answered. I left the branch and walked half of a block before I realized my ATM card was missing. I went back in by the ATM's and didn't see a card. I talked to the employee standing by the tellers and asked her about a missing ATM card. A teller overheard and asked for my name. I gave it to him. He had the card. Some honest person turned it in. Thank you kind person. The teller asked for an ID. I showed him my ID and he gave me back my ATM card. Thank you kind TD bank consumer and employees. read more

While I don't do my personal banking here, a not-for-profit for which I've worked does. Knowing they have coin counting machines (cleverly called "Penny Arcades"), I came to empty those bins around the apartment into which I toss change. One machine was broken, but not labeled as such, so I fumbled about with it until the security guard standing next to it said, "Oh--that one doesn't work. Use the one across the way." I used the machine with no issue, brought my receipt to the counter to redeem the value in dollars, and was told TD Bank takes 8% of the total as its fee, if one doesn't bank there. I had over $200 in change, so they wind up doing quite well in the exchange; the machines should forewarn consumers about this--nothing within the machine screen prompts mentions it. While this is conveniently-located, I'll be seeking a better arrangement in future. read more

It's a TD. The ATMs were working here, the lobby was a little tight but we got in & out with no problem. Only bummer was the lack of pens in the lobby & seeing a whole pile of them through the glass inside the closed lobby of the bank. Grrr! For years now I've been using TD Bank and I've had nothing to complain about. This particular agency is really nice. The people at the counter are polite and very efficient. I never wait when I go there, perhaps because I go between rush hours, but I usually walk in and get served right away. The place has a counter in the back as well and it is very handy if the lines begin to grow strong. As all TD Bank, it is a pet friendly place and make sure you don't confuse the lollipops and the treats for your pets. I've never tasted either of these, but would recommend to stick to your kind. I love the fact that the bank is open on Sunday, it has helped a great deal over the years. Great place to go banking. read more

TD Bank is not quite like BoA or Chase, in that sense they're not on every single corner. They're a little spread out, but it seems they're always really close to wherever I may be. I once guessed my change within 20 cents and they gave me a luggage tag! I like this branch because there's never a line. It's always pretty quiet, and it's a block away from work & the train. This is a review more of TD Bank in its entirety rather than of this particular branch (which, by itself, provides good service). TD Bank used to be considered a bank for the ordinary consumer and made efforts to provide good service to its customers. For example, calls to the telephone support number used to be answered almost immediately. It appears now that TD has cut service and training. 20-30 minute waits are the rule, the quality of the service provided by telephone support is terrible, and it is impossible to escalate to a (supposedly) competent supervisor without another 10-20 minute wait. Also, the service center increasingly unable to do anything substantive: I have been asked several times by phone support to go to a branch for actual service. Additionally, no one in the Bank seems to provide consistent advice. For instance, when I recently closed an account, the branch and phone support "ping-ponged" me between them, denying that they each had the ability to close the account. The same thing happened when I then closed a loan account. I have been a customer of TD Bank since the Commerce Bank days, and I used to love banking there. No longer. read more

Wow. Just, Wow. Never in my life have I had this much trouble with a bank. It might be the branch (Chelsea, on 26th and 7th), but I'm closing my account with these people ASAP. Right from the get-go, they got my zip-code wrong, which made it impossible for me to do a lot of online transactions, but *they* didn't catch this error; a merchant did. It was months before I got this corrected- during which some of my online purchases were refused. After many such ridiculous slip-ups, here's the clincher: two weeks ago, the ATM at my branch ATE MY ATM CARD. Seriously.....I put in the card and was denied access to my cash and never saw that card again. I went in the next day, *furious* (because I had no cash, and was in the middle of doing laundry); they gave me a new debit card....and then got my balance wrong. I was charged for an overdraft because of this. When I called the "bank human" number, and waited 20 minutes to talk to a "human", that person *was* kind enough to credit me with the overdraft fee..... ....and then, there was the lovely experience I had, yesterday, with an extremely rude man who works at my branch. Oh, he's a real prize. I went in there with most of my change, to use their much-touted penny arcade, and get some change.....and they tried to charge me 8% for access to the *cash* I had just put in their counter. Why? Because I am overdrawn (because THEY GOT MY BALANCE WRONG). I was, I have to confess, outraged....the teller (who looked new and was probably being trained) told me they were going to charge me 8%, even though I'm a customer, because my account was overdrawn. I couldn't believe it, because that's never happened to me before. So Mr. Charm comes over and tells me that yeah, my account is overdrawn, addressing me by my first name (I'm way older than he is, and we've never been introduced and this is pretty disrespectful) and I say "You know, I'm on Social Security; this is my last $12 (which was true; I'm a musician and next time I gig, I'll make it up, but I needed that cash) and he tells the teller to just give me the money, but then proceeds to lecture me about my account as if I were a little kid in the Principal's office, calling me April, and again, THIS IS NOT RESPECTFUL. So I say to him: "If you think giving me that 8% break gives you the right to talk to me like that, you can keep it. We are *not* on a first-name basis; I'm Mrs. Stewart to you." And he breaks into a big, smarmy smile and tells the teller, "Okay, take out the 8%. Okay, Miss Stewart?" I accepted it, saying "If that's what you need in order to be respectful to A CUSTOMER, fine....but shame on you. I *will* be writing about this online." He continued to smirk at me and I looked the poor little teller in the eyes and said to her "I'm sorry you have to work for such people." There *was* a customer standing right next to me who saw and heard the whole thing. In their defense, I will say that, when I called the "bank human" toll-free number, and told this story to a supervisor, she was outraged and clearly embarrassed. But based on all the snafus, culminating in this abusive and condescending encounter I had with this man, yesterday, I will not continue to do business with TD Bank. They have a cute change counter, and they put out cute little doggy-bowls in their vestibule, but the service in the actual bank is appalling. read more

Choosing a bank is like choosing the lesser of 4 - 5 evils (considering all the mega monopoly banks we enjoy nowadays), but TD does well, considering. I always get a friendly greeting here, and the tellers are very helpful. They also always have a cop stationed by the entrance, so I feel super safe from anyone who might try and rob me for my giant change jar that I'm bringing to the Penny Arcade. Peter D mentioned the Penny Arcade in his review as well, so you know it has to be good. Dragging a giant jar of change on the train, however, is not. There are TD Banks and ATMs all over the city so you don't have to worry about getting hit with any foreign ATM fees. read more

I don't do any banking there. I just went there to get a document notarized, and I encountered the most uninformed banker. If I recall her name was Sylvia. So I asked this woman to notarize a document that I had brought and she started looking at it as if she were looking at the Dead Sea scrolls. It was a simple Notary Attestation Form! Then she started talking incoherently about the human resources department at my job, about the earthly and the divine, and about who knows what! All that she needed to do was to verify that the person whose name appeared on the document was the same person that was before her. It ain't hard! When I entered the bank today, I was greeted by a man who asked me what did I need. I explained that I needed a new card. He told me to have a seat and someone from customer service would help me. I waited for approximately 45 minutes. Then I was informed that the machine was not working. I wasted 45 minutes waiting to see a customer service rep. If only the man who greeted me at the door knew what was going on in the bank my time would have been better spent on other things. read more

I have had a nightmare experience. I put in $100 in an account so I could use some services. Got hit with a $1 Statement fee and then called to tell them I enrolled for paperless statements. I was told they would put the money back into the account. Well, of course they didnt and I stopped getting paper statements. Account goes below the $100 barrier. THat means a $15 fee. Then my account is overdrawn as they dont stop at $0. Next letter I get is that I OWE them $40. Remember, this is from a single $100 deposit. How you can owe them money is a mystery. Here are the next steps; Go to the Branch at 451 Lex (45th Street.) Told the Manager is on vacation so they cant fix my account!!! Call Customer Service. You can verify the account by telling them about the transaction fee. Call Customer Service: Telling them you had a transaction fee is no good. You have to give them the exact date of the only deposit. Telling them $100 in July is not good enough. After waiting on hold for 30 minutes, I get through. But my account is suspended so he cant fix it. I tell him they keep charging me fees. BUT THAT DOESNT COUNT as a suspension.
