So, I get a solicitation offer in the mail to my address, open a new savings account with an initial deposit of $10,000, let it sit there for 110 days and get $200 in "free" money. So, I check my fat mattress and say "Yeah, I can do this." So, I go in to open a new account, but they won't do it because the solicitation was not addressed directly to me. Mind you, I've lived at the address for 23 years and the solicitation was addressed to a previous tenant from almost a quarter of a century ago. GTFOOH. I have a TD bank joint account with my husband but preferred to bank separately with Chase. My cousin in Europe needed to wire transfer my inheritance. I was working full time and did not want to make a trip to my bank. My husband was going to TD Bank for something else, so I asked him to get the SWIFT number for the international wire transfer. He brought one and I sent it to my cousin. We agreed on the trial transfer of $500 just to make sure. Glad we did! It did not go through. I sent my husband to find out. He came home stating that he was told by TD bank employee that money did not come and my cousin needs to request a reversal. I told that to my cousin who checked everything on his end and confirmed everything was correct. So I took a printout he provided to TD bank. It was almost 1 month after the transfer was made. The lady called somewhere and located the money, however, said I have to answer some questions for the money to be credited to my account. Okay, I did and finally got the money on our account. While I was waiting in her office she brought me 2 credit card offers I did not ask for. Next my cousin made another wire transfer of $1000 to see how it would go through. Again the same issue. I went on Saturday to clarify and answer questions. They told me to sit down and wait while they were gushing over another customer's big dog, were clueless about the questions and had no interest in resolving my issue. After days of waiting and several calls my husband made to them, we finally got the money. I did not want to go through this again, so I went to Chase Bank where my personal account is. I forwarded the SWIFT number to my cousin who by now made multiple wire transfers in $3000 increments as he no longer trusts American banks. All of them were credited to my Chase account in 2-3 days, no questions asked or answered, no calls or trips to the bank made. Now I am temporary working only one day a week by choice and plan to go back full time after the holidays. I have plenty of credit, use only small part of it and pay my balance in full every month but my 5/3 Bank credit card I had for 20 years does not offer great rewards, or at least they did not update them. Since TD Bank offered $200 back and better rewards and I had time to do it, I went to their branch with the printouts they offered me when I went to complain about the missing wire transfer. Well, I just now got a rejection letter in the mail that my income is not sufficient! No kidding! When my income is sufficient, I do not have time to go to the bank. They approve big check from my account without my signature.. after I noticed in few months and they was not able to help me to solve that problem.. instead they close my account with them .. Look like their own workers scamming people...Because 1 year before they open new debit card and hack me for 1 k .. after I realize same day they inform me that I come to them with my driver license and request my self new card .. after I made police report and request to open camera they return my money .. their own workers scamming people .. So I came in here around 9 AM today to maje a deposit at the teller. I then went to the sole ATM to make a withdrawal. I left my ATM card on top of the machine then went to hospital for lab work. 2 hours later I left the hospital and got to Jamaica Center. I get 2 phone calls from this branch and I answer the second one. It was a teller to let me know a customer found mt ATM card and I could come pick it. So I turn around wait 10 minutes for the bus and get to the branch. I went to the teller who helped me earlier and let her know I got a call letting me know my ATM card was found. Apparently the other teller had the card. She asks my name. I tell her and show her my ID. She gives me back the card. I thank them both. read more

I love this TD bank! The biggest pro is that there is plenty of parking at this location- I always manage to get a spot easily. The customer service is amazing as well. The line moves rather quickly and if it doesn't, they make sure to apologize for the wait. I came in on a Thursday morning and it was very empty. Laura helped me today with a wire transfer and she was so sweet! She made conversation with me and made my experience less awkward. read more

My two sons have accounts with this bank. A debit card of one of my sons has been compromised. Even though it is so evident that there were repeated fraudulent charges made to his debit card account by a supposedly cosmetic company located in England, the bank never alerted him. And after he called the customer service and visited this branch numerous times, they kept just closing his case. Every time he follows up the bank tells him that the investigation of his case is closed. They don't even freeze his account. The bank doesn't do anything to help. They are now telling him to send an email to this cosmetic company supposedly located in England. I have never encountered a financial institution as dysfunctional as this one. The next step is to help my son to file a complaint with BBB. read more

Came here about a week ago with a friend who has a TD bank account. Why? You ask........ B/c My friend has an account here and I do not. I had collected an abundant amount of change over the years. Yes, I mean this literally. I'm talking Pennies ,nickels and dimes in separate 1 litter bottles of your favorite soda brands. Alas ,it was time to part with the change and covert it into the Almighty dollar. Enter TD bank: they are the only bank I know of that has the machine that sorts your change and gives you a voucher for cash. So I enlisted a friend of mine to do this for me , so I wouldn't pay a fee b/c I am not member. I must say, What a great bank!! Great customer service from start to finish. I had so much change that the machine kept jamming (3 times this happened) and the lady that worked there was more than happy to help. This branch is worst! Trying to open up a business "DBA" checking account, the bank rep keep asking me for incorporation state paper works, in which I have a DBA business certificate state issued. Obviously the bank sale rep from this branch does not know what the difference. A corporation and a "DBA" is not the same! Went to Chase bank instead and open a business checking without a fuss. I came to this branch at 10:55 to ask the staff a question but they kept insisting that the branch wasn't open yet, even though there were people sitting at the desk and I just had a simple question. They refused to even converse with me and someone who seemed like the manager (woman with long black hair and square glasses) came up to us to berate us and had a horrible, abrasive attitude and yelled at us unprovoked. This is the worst TD branch ever!! The staff is downright rude. I went in 3:30 pm to have a paper notarized. The staff told me to return tomorrow, without telling me the reason why. Then, I asked why it couldn't be done today. She claimed that the notary was not at the branch, so I (politely) pointed out that I see the notary sitting at her desk serving another customer. The problem is that the banking industry as a whole has the consumer by throat. They participate in how can we screw with the consumer while we reap the profits from our lousy slow service. The bank called me to advise me of a $500 fraudulent charge they declined at a store I do not shop in. Advised me to get a new card at my convenience. Two days later I find out they actually approved a $300 charge when I have $40 in the bank. They first started the investigation when I went to the bank to get my new card and acted like I should have been there sooner! Told me they approved the amount because they "like" me! As of today 5 days after the first call I'm told that I have overdraft protection!! I declined it when I opened the account to start with! They lied and said it was on the account now. It wasn't when they processed the approval for $300 and I only had $40! They really do think I'm that stupid!!! It will take a MINIMUM of 10 days for this to be resolved, UNACCEPTABLE. Free pens, lollipops, and dog biscuits which by the way the Managers spend their day filling, are more important than good HONEST customer service! read more
