Until today! After moving to Whitby 7 years ago we switched to Whitby main branch, we've had nothing but issues. One, they never answer or return your call. Two, they will mislead you - they gave us all kinds of stories about investments (for example: They put our kids RESP into a cash account instead high risk like we asked. They have us approval for a mortgage and then when we put a bid on a house the branch manager told us they never submitted the applications and we didn't have approval yet... Yeah we lost the house we wanted). In summary... Stay away from this branch at all costs. The support from the executive level about the branch was no help either (they made excuse after excuse). Today we are officially TD everything (accounts, mortgage, investments, etc) and couldn't be happier.

I have always had a pretty good experience when I go to a CIBC branch, but today I felt embarrassed and disrespected by a teller and the Assistant Manager at this branch! I keep trying to give this place a chance to redeem itself but they consistently & repeatedly…read moredisappoint . Twice in the last month or so the ATM machine has been empty & the bank closed so I could not get any money out . The first time it closed middle of the week they just had a sign on the door saying " entire staff out for team meeting . I know they were not out figuring out how to improve because they got worse. I tried to cash a Provincial Government check & they bungled it 3 times , I ended up having to have the Gov reissue the check & wait 2 months for that. I was not informed when the check came back I only noticed because I saw money had been removed from my account . No informing me of it nor any real indication of concern . An ATM that does not dispense money is useless & an institution that is closed for "meetings " does not seem trustworthy . Stay away from this place I know I will
