Absolutely the worst experience moving ever! Everything seemed great until they showed up. We had…read morephone calls, texts and even a walk through where John even took notes. We felt confident. Boy were we wrong! $15k down the drain. Everything became a complaint or an argument. We had picked them specifically because they said they would build a crate for the lathe and charged another $1000 to do it. On the day John argued he would not move it and had never agreed to. Much less build a crate for it. I ended up providing makeshift materials and show them how to safely move it. When it got here things were bent and broken. While getting boxes in the truck two of them kept pushing each other around like two little kids. They eventually dropped a bed frame on the hardwood floor and then one pretended to be hurt. We saw it. It never touched him but he screamed it broke his foot and was bleeding. Yet somehow he had no issues moving boxes. The same two guys kept pushing each other around until finally one was thrown right where a snow plow was being moved. The plow flipped over and narrowly missed his foot! I turned white. The truck they brought was not big enough. They had to go and offload it and return. That took them 4 hours. We had to walk behind them around the house because they would constantly not grab all the boxes from rooms but close the door and say it was all done. Always an argument ensued. Things like yard equipment, glass and awkwardly shaped things were taken separately on the truck. When these guys arrived they had two trucks and just 3 people. As they opened the truck I saw one of my generators sitting upside down! The lathe was loosely strapped to the side of the truck sitting on the same material I provided. Things on it were bent and broken from bouncing around. All the yard equipment and awkwardly shaped items were just stuck in tall garment boxes. Trim pieces from my truck I had just painted were scratched and rubbed through. Ruined. Boxes were crushed. The guy with the "broken foot" kept limping around. John hardly did anything. Boxes were placed any which way pretty much anywhere. We had to insist and argue for boxes to be taken where they belonged. Things that went into storage were just chucked in and boxes placed right at the entrance. It was a mess. We gave up on having the furniture put back together as we just wanted them to leave.

They got the job done efficiently and the price was reasonable. I like that the item will be donated and not just junked. They also moved me to another location a couple years ago and did an awesome job that time.

An addendum to the review I wrote a few days ago. I trashed them in that review for not showing up…read morewhen expected. Since then, they made it right, so it's only fair that I try to do the same. On the Monday following the no-show, I got a call from the owner with an apology and an assurance that he would talk to his crew about better communication with clients. He made arrangements to reschedule at my earliest convenience, and everything went smoothly. Based on this second try, I would recommend them.

I'm a single senior citizen moving for the first time in 25 years, with no help. I explained all…read moreof this when I called Fordson, and they were super accommodating and friendly. Two guys showed up with a huge truck; took about 2 hours to load and drove the 60+ miles to my new home. I explained that I would have to leave before they finished, so I could drive back to Dearborn in the daylight (eyesight issues). That's when it all fell apart. I went back the next day to find plastic wrap strewn around the house, leaves all over the inside of the house, items left wrapped, a dirty bathroom and smoke smell. I contacted Fordson, and was told a slew of lies the worker told him; He said I told them not to enter the garage, FALSE. He said he couldn't find anywhere to dispose of the plastic wrap - THERE WAS A GARBAGE CAN IN THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO THEIR TRUCK, I was told they aren't responsible for cleaning up after the job. I told Fordson I felt taken advantage of, being alone and older, and that his employee was lying. They made no accommodation and essentially blew me off once they were paid. My Advise: WATCH THEM EVERY MINUTE and make sure a man is around. They will lie and cheat and take advantage of a single woman. BEWARE.

Phillip and Corbin were the movers and they did an exceptional job being careful from beginning to end. They padded everything down in the home and all the furniture was wrapped properly. I had few items needed to be reassembled which they did perfectly!! They were attentive to detail and careful to not ding or scratch any of furniture or the area of the home. As we're unpacking more, we're finding that many things were done poorly. For our front hall…read morecloset, for example, it's just one big box with all of our coats and shoes thrown together. No wrapping, no care shown to avoid dirty shoes rolling around inside of the coats. It's a friggin' mess. And I have a nice collection of silk ties; these were all balled up and thrown in a box. My wife also cut her hand on an exposed screw, because the wall fixtures we asked to be packed had the screws left in them. I hope she doesn't need a tetanus shot.

They arrived on time for the move, and moved our stuff out in the middle of a rainstorm. THEN.. they endured a LONG roadtrip to IL since the holiday weekend traffic brought several delays. When they made it to IL, they unloaded the truck very carefully and efficiently, and they were very polite despite the long day. The crew was very professional throughout, and we felt very comfortable with them throughout the process. this was my first time moving cross country (from CA to MI) so i had no prior shipping company…read moreexperience. i got quotes from different vendors and u-pack was the most affordable option i found (about $5.5k for 3 containers). the containers were smaller than i anticipated (the sizes are on the website but i overlooked it so that's my fault) but they ended up fitting everything in my 2 bedroom apartment. i also really liked that they took care of dropping off and picking up the containers in both locations and all we had to do was fill them up. customer service was very helpful and professional and im overall very happy and satisfied with their services for my first out of state move. will definitely use u-pack again in the future if i have another long distance move.
