She's also an only child and doesn't get a lot of opportunities to be with other children her age. I wanted her to attend half days to get her started, but that wasn't available. It was from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Too long for a toddler who never went to school before in my opinion. The first few days was a bit rough. My daughter cried a lot, but the teachers were very patient and accommodating to her. The turning point was the fourth day. She couldn't wait to go to school in the morning and when I picked her up in the afternoon, she didn't want to leave. I also appreciated the school using an app to update me on her daily activities. I began looking forward to every photo and video. Bottom line: The school is a bit pricey, but worth every dollar. My child was in a nurturing school, learning in a clean and safe environment and surrounded by caring teachers and well-behaved (for the most part) children. Advice to other first-time parents? Look at enrolling a year ahead for the fall session. Spots fill up fast. I thought enrolling six months ahead would be sufficient, but all that got me was on the waiting list.

They use an app where they keep you constantly updated throughout the day along with pictures. My daughter loved going there. We were very sad when our time was up. I was always fearful of daycares with all the crazy stories you hear but I felt 100% confident leaving my daughter in their hands. She also learned so much there. I intend to send my daughter to summer school here as well.

I rarely write a review but felt the need to share how grateful I am for discovering Kumon (86th…read morestreet Bay Ridge) especially now that my oldest has just finished 8th grade. I originally started my son there during kindergarten because he did not always pay attention in school. Thanks to Kumon Bay Ridge, by the end of kindergarten he was the second highest reader in his class. Throughout the years he continued at Kumon, later switched from reading to math and continued to excell, scoring high on school standardized tests and recently graduating middle school with honors. Seeing his early success at Kumon I started my daughter there as well in reading and math. She just finished elementary school several years above grade level in reading and with almost perfect scores in math. My kids work hard but they would not be where they are without Kumon, and more specifically without Mr. Cerutti and his team. He has always had a lot of patience and understanding, and has gone out of his way to go above and beyond to listen, answer questions and give advice. My kids love Kumon and feel at home there. I am sharing our story in case anyone has a child struggling in school and is considering Kumon Bay Ridge. There are many options in the area for academics but for if you want a teacher who cares and a program that will yield results, Kumon Bay Ridge is the way to go.
