Lorena was kind enough to endure doing extra work and this lady's verbal abuse because she knew how much we loved the home. When I say this lady was the seller from hell, that is not an exaggeration. She was irate and badgering the whole time. Screaming like she was a three-year-old not getting her way. She gave us disclosures with other addresses crossed out on them because that's how inexperienced and ghetto she was. During negotiations, it was our understanding that Lorena had verbally agreed to reduce her commission in exchange for us completing several minor repairs and agreeing to a lower sale price. Based on that understanding, we completed the requested repairs and proceeded with the reduced price. However, just days before closing, after the repairs had been completed, she changed her position and was no longer willing to honor the commission reduction we understood had been agreed upon. An extension was subsequently requested, while she continued to refuse any reduction in her compensation despite the concessions we had already made to keep the transaction moving forward. We understand that real estate negotiations involve disagreements and that agents have the right to negotiate their compensation. Our concern was with how the situation was handled and communicated. In our experience, the communication lacked the professionalism, consistency, and cooperation we would expect during such a significant transaction. Based on our experience, we would not choose to work with Lorena Semerenko again.
