TeamCare Behavioral Health failed my son when he needed professional care the most. My child has significant mental health struggles and was under psychiatric care here. We attended regularly, every six weeks with the psychiatrist and weekly with the therapist. We missed two appointments over the course of the year -- both of which we were charged for -- and we received a letter stating my child was discharged from psychiatric care and barred from returning for a full year. Let me be clear: this is a minor child, unable to drive, actively struggling, and already in treatment. The psychiatrist was still adjusting medication and trying to find stability. Instead of focusing on care, compassion, and clinical responsibility, TeamCare chose bureaucracy and punishment. I even went in person to ask whether my child could see any other psychiatrist in the practice, and the front desk made it absolutely clear -- once you are discharged from psychiatry here, they will not allow you back for a year, regardless of clinical need. Yet, they were still happy to continue taking money for weekly therapy. So much for "non-profit" and "patient-centered care." The message was loud and clear: policy mattered more than a child's well-being. Mental health treatment requires consistency, compassion, and flexibility. Turning away a struggling minor over attendance -- while acknowledging they desperately need medication management -- is the opposite of ethical care. Parents deserve to know how rigid and unforgiving this system is before trusting them with their child. If you are looking for a practice that prioritizes actual patient care, accountability, and humanity, look elsewhere. read more

just now New If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My 4 year old son saw Karen McClure-Snodgrass for a psychological evual to test for autism and adhd. After the experience, there is no way that snodgrsss should be practicing on children what so ever. We had two major issues with her first issue: we get into the room she closes the door looks at my 4 year old and in a rude tone of voice asked him if he wanted to kill himself. I could tell she knew she did something wrong because she immediately changed it to do u want to hurt yourself do you want to die. The way she said it is not a way I would ever talk to an adult or child. She didn't ask us the parents first because if she did I would have told her there were no signs even remotely close to him having those thoughts. If she did have a patient that indeed wanted to kill themselves there is no way that patient would even feel comfortable answering her with the tone and attitude she had. My 4 year old son before this experience didn't even know what killing is. In today's social climate we don't even talk about this. We don't even kill bugs at home we are kind and let them go free. Now after this experience my child is talking about killing a lot and bringing it up in public in locations where we shouldn't be talking about it. At the end of the appointment and after I told her don't ask that question again because he had no signs of hurting himself wouldn't you know it she asked him two more times if he wanted to kill himself. I know these questions needs to be asked but they way she asked my 4 year old is not ok. Second issue: I told my son ahead of time he could go to his 2 hour preschool class after the evual was over but if he didn't want to that it was ok. As a parent I know he is exhausted after just preschool so I didn't want to push him too far. After the evual was over I looked at him and gave him the option. Snodgrssd immediately started raising her voice at my 4 year old. Screeming that he had to go to school. My 4 year old started having an epic tantrum to the point where he was hurting myself my husband and the doctor. The doctor saw and just kept yelling your going to school. He started yelling cuss words at this point. I mean I myself almost started yelling cuss words at her. She kept yelling at him what did you just say over and over again. This of course made it worse. Then my husband said well he's fitting because my wife told him he didn't have to come to school. To which the doctor turned to me and lectured me about how I can't tell him one thing and do another. GUESS WHAT KAREN I DIDNT. I JUST COULDN'T TELL YOU I ALREADY TOLD MY SON HE DID NOT HAVE TO GO BECAUSE YOU WERE YELLING AND EVEN I AS AN ADULT WAS SCARED OF YOU! We all left traumatized and now have no trust in child psychologists. My child just qualified for speech therapy to which he said I don't want to go because they are going to be like the other really mean doctor. (Meaning Karen) I reported her and the supervisor said he didn't see an issue with anything. After looking at all the reviews I can clearly see there is an issue with rude disrespectful doctors and it seems nothing is ever done. I recommend that anyone who had a terrible experience here look up that doctors medical licensing number and report them! Ever since Dr. Ohmer left the practice I have not been happy with my services. I have been without my ADHD medication for several weeks now, which is pretty unacceptable (if you have ADHD you know). Some of that is insurance related, but they never even contacted me to let me know despite my requesting meds several times and never bothered to change it to a generic brand or follow up. It is very hard to even get an appointment as the other doctors are only there once a week. You often have to wait a while for your appointment in the lobby, to begin with. I'm switching practices as it is more like Teamdoesn'tcare. read more

This place needs to be investigated for their insurance department. They reject you because they do not even know provider help lines. They refuse to give direct answers, day you cannot pay out of pocket then cancel last minute. The Doctors need to see what is going on. Stay away. read more

Hello there, My name is Nicole Saccone and i had a long awaited phone intake with Dr. Deguzman at 9:15am, and i would love to complain about how horrible he just treated me, made fun of me, "tested" me and made me go into a panic attack over him saying that me being on the PA MMJ program was (more so) a horrible choice, idiotic and will not "see me" until i am 4-5 week's CLEAN, since my Brain is "blocked from any treatment." I was on Lamictal 200mg and lexapro 20mg WITH mmj, and i was fully functional and happy with life, i ran out of my medicine and needed a new psychiatrist to get myself back to being a better me. I trusted your company to help me, to better my mind and instead i got made fun of, my mom's OD thrown back in my face as if i stay on this path i will end up like her and i am too young and Have to Act now. I get where he was coming from At first, but the fact that he even said the words "dont judge a book by its cover + dont cry over spoiled milk," messed with me more, because he asked me what that means while he is treating me this way!? He also stated that no matter "how much i pump into you, and i could, the mmj blocks it." I took that sexually as well and really messed with my emotions. read more

My psychiatrist listens to what I have to say, and we discuss the options that would be best suited for me. Since going to TeamCare I have a better outlook on my life and my future. Doctors are always 30 mins late. But if you the patient Is 10 mins late I get charged 40 dollars. I should be getting money from them. Don't recommend this place at all.... read more

It was necessary to find services for our autistic son to try to develop ways to function as an adult. Team Care was recommended by our pediatrician. The service we received from this organization was poor at best. My son, who was early for his appointment, was left to wait in the waiting area until his appointment time lapsed and was told to go home. We lost 6-9 months of time and money because of their poorly managed organization. read more

This place is a joke, my son attends here for medication management. They said he was going to be discharged because I could not attend 2 appointments due to my car breaking down. I have no control over that. You would think a place that is supposed to help people would be more understanding. It's disappointing. read more

This is a message to all potential clients receiving (or thinking about it) services at Teamcare Behavioral Health. Be sure to check your insurance coverage in-network vs. out-of-network carefully before signing on with them. I called my insurance company and was told they were in-network and was informed by the front office staff I was in-network as well. Apparently a mistake was made. I received a letter from my insurance carrier that my medical coverage did not cover services but for Teamcare to submit bills to my mental health portion of my insurance plan. I gave this letter to the front office informing them to notify their billing department. But this did not happen or it did and nothing was done. Completely unaware and believing the problem was solved I continued to pay my copay ($20) after services at the front office and made follow up appointments. My initial intake case manager was in the same office but was NOT in-network. I did not know this. My psychiatrist, who I saw only twice, WAS in-network but left the practice (not surprising to me). I was told I could "follow" him and just ask for his new phone number but was told "we don't have it" when I asked the front office and was assigned a new physician assistant for medication management. He was NOT in-network. Again, I was never informed of this. Last week I received a bill of almost $100 for services back in April 2018. Their in-take case manager who I saw was NOT in-network. The billing department at Teamcare informed me the onus to pay this bill is completely my responsibility despite being blind-sided on the issue of in-network vs. out-of-network by Teamcare. I would have never continued to be their client knowing they were out-of-network but was never informed by anyone of my billing status despite giving them the letter from UnitedHealthcare re: my mental health portion of my insurance plan. I honestly thought all was well as they gladly accepted my copay after I received services, made a follow up appointment and left the office without any information from them re: this issue. So, client - Beware! All may not be what it appears to be! I found out the hard way. As instructed by Teamcare, I did call my insurance company and informed them of my dilemma. At their insistence a formal complaint/grievance has now been filed against Teamcare Behavioral Health. Also, in speaking with the woman in their billing department and stating my case - she did listen for a bit, told me if I didn't pay the bill it would go to a collection agency and then rudely hung up on me. No professionalism, no compassion (& they are in the business of mental health) and, dare I say, swindlers at best? read more

I was a patient at Teamcare for 8 years. I recommended plenty of friends and family. Their billing service, however, is unprofessional and inexperienced. I was billed for something my insurance should have paid. They put it all on me to figure out and discharged me over a $60 unpaid bill that I was disputing. I dealt with the long waiting times and poor service bc I liked my doctor. But the people running this place have become disconnected and greedy. They can't seem to keep their therapists, front office staff or billing department. It's usually a sign of disfunction when a dr office can't seem to hold onto staff. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Not after dealing with this place for years. read more

I was told they were in network, after 3 appointments they alerted me they were not. Advised me they would cover the costs since it was their mistake. Several months later they send me a bill. I called to resolve the issue. They stated it makes sense & they would take care of it. A month later I get another bill stating they're sending the bill to collections. When I follow up "there's no notes about my previous communication". We have a follow up from "CEO" (no way to prove it) stating we are responsible for the bill even though it was their mistake. Seems like a scam to me. I'll be escalating this further. read more

I was deeply depressed and interested in med management when I came to their Harrisburg office. I would not come back even to save my life, they're so bad they might cut it short. Intake was done by a woman who spoke English at the level of a toddler. She seemed to understand what I was saying at the time however later I learned they thought I was from a completely different city than where I am and that they did not have info about me that they should have. That comes into play later. I was only interested in meds, however since I wouldn't be able to see med management for over a month and was in very extreme emotional pain I went to some therapy sessions. I didn't want to do and expressed as much but they were trying to hook me into it. I went along with it out of desperation and felt they took advantage of that. Honestly I felt if I did not there might be some kind of blow back against me. When I finally see med management he is largely unsympathetic. He seems to know nothing about me and have none of the info I gave the toddler speaking woman. He was trying VERY hard to play it cool and decided he was not going to consider giving me medication until I saw a therapist for 8 sessions. He was trying to redirect my entire life like he was my father and I was six, and he kept reminding me he was in the business for ten years. I felt like I had been used and everything, all the time I had invested, had been some kind of farce. And I'm pretty sure he knew it. I told him I would not be doing therapy, thanked him, and left empty handed and feeling like the lowest creature on the planet.
