I called the office but the person I spoke to couldn't clearly explain what had happened, but just said I needed to pay more. I went ahead and paid the extra amount, thinking I was now in the clear in terms of payment for these treatments. Now, a year later, I received a bill from my doctor's new billing service, saying I still owed a not insignificant amount from those treatments last year. I was not pleased. The agent I spoke to at the new billing service explained they were going back through all the bills the previous company (Island Healthcare Solutions) had processed in order to correct all the errors they had made. I requested once to watch our documents get shredded, I called the office in advance so they brought their special truck on site. My documents were placed directly into their giant shred container, and I followed them to their truck. It was pretty neat, mounted on their truck, they have a monitor that I was able to watch everything. I watched as the giant shred container was lifted directly into the shred machine, and it took only a few minutes for completion. At no time do they ever handle the physical documents, since the office bins include a heavy duty bag, that your document drop into. When Shred-it comes to empty the office bins, they are taking the bags instead of handling documents. They actually welcomed me to watch the whole process from the box, to the bin, to the machine.
