What amuses me about this tiny bubble tea vendor is that there's a discounted takeaway price (-10%), yet there doesn't seem to be a place to eat in. When we walked by, after dining on noodles down the street, there was one lonely chair on the sidewalk a full meter away from the entrance of the shop. Would sitting there be worth an extra 50 cents? (The large size, which I got to go, costs 5€).
They apparently sell banh mi too, but I wasn't hungry nor tempted to try it. The bubble tea, I'm sad to say, was disappointing. I ordered the black sesame taro tea with milk and while the bubble texture was up to snuff, the bottom of the plastic cup was warm and there were very few ice cubes up top to cool down the rest of the drink.
I wouldn't discount the place entirely, though. If I'm back in the area and in the mood for a bubble tea, I might try a smaller size, and ask for more ice. read more
