As Scarborough is still a bit of a rural backwater at the end of the road to nowwhere, if the few small, local PC businesses in town didnt trade, we'd have to go all the way to PC World and the like in York and Hull. On a couple of occasions over the last five years or so, Coywood has proved to be a lifesaver as people grow more and more reliant on their home computers. In addition to selling various kinds of peripherals, Coywood seel complete PC packages and will build a PC to order if required. They also sell reasonably priced refurbished laptops (usually Dell) which come with warranty as standard. Where they excell though, is when you have to turn to them for advice and help on technical matters. They'll take the time to talk you through whats wrong and how they'll fix it and show how to avoid it happening again. On the couple of occasions I've had to use them, they've been very competitively priced, and I;d happily use again without hesitation.

I called to notify them of the issue and ask for the correct item to be delivered. They said it would send it out again. As they hadn't met the next business day delivery I paid extra for I told them it was only fair they refund the express delivery fees and I was happy for them to pick up the wrong item. Their attitude from here was appalling. They said they would only refund the delivery fee once I had posted them the item out of my own pocket. I told them I don't go anywhere near a post office so it isn't possible without me taking multiple busses and wasting a lot of time and going way out of my way to get to one. Their response was 'well we wont refund the delivery fees until we get our item from you. Your fees are our security to get the item back. They said refused to pay for a courier to organize the collection of the wrong item they sent me. I was told other customers don't ask for refunds when they don't deliver the right items. When I said this was poor customer service they said I was just being argumentative and was unwilling to help them. They said they would get someone to call me back shortly. Of course this never happened. I called again that afternoon and then the following day before they guy said 'fine, you don't want to help us, I'll refund the extra delivery fees and I guess we'll just take the loss' then hung up. I'll have to see if they actually do refund the fees. I tried to be helpful by letting them know I received the wrong item and would have it ready for them if they would organize collection. I have never had a company tell me to mail their items back to them out of my own pocket because they made a mistake.

Bumpy start but exceeded my expectations…read more.. The reason I say bumpy start is I took my HP desktop computer to the guys at kingfisher computers. And told them after i got a friend to install windows 10 for me i couldn't get updates and updates it would ask for a products key but said activated. Plus it was crashing all the time. After a couple of hours, kingfisher called me back and informed me that the computer was wicked full of viruses, and I had lots of other programs running in the background that i didn't need, I think they called it bloat-software or something like that. So later that day, I picked my computer up, and they had made it run faster, and it had stopped crashing. But I still couldn't do updates, the main reason I took the computer to kingfisher in the first place. When I returned the guy at the counter informed me that, they had told me it was running a non-genuine version of windows, and they advised me to get a genuine version to enable it to do updates. thats why it was asking for a product key. I do remember them telling me this, but at I would need to buy windows 10, I declined. He also showed me on their computer job system, that they did advise this, but I declined. And they were correct. So after a chat with the guy, i decided that i was going to purchase a genuine version of microsoft Windows 10, but they told me that if I get an SSD, it would vastly increase my speed. They could do windows 10 cheaper, with the November version of windows 10 update. I agreed. So that was the bumpy start out the windows. When I collected my computer, they give me a demo of how fast my computer was now, after they installed an SSD. They were correct. It took seconds to boot with an SSD. Now I'm faster than an Elon Musk rocket. i can do all my updates, and i have this fantastic SSD hard drive with all my programs, software and data on. Advice, don't get friends to install windows 10 to fix your computers, for you because they do it for free or for cheap, get the experts to do it, and listen to their advice. It's worth it in the long run. Five stars from me over and out.
