Had my iPhone 5S cracked screen fixed by the Curt and the boys few months back and was impressed by their professionalism and excellent work. Over the next few months had an issue with my screen and wasn't sure what problem was. Over time I noticed that a corner of the glass was popping up a little. I initially brought to the apple store who told me that I had to buy a new phone and had "water damage." Have been going here for years. Extremely friendly, well priced, and many repairs are done within the hour (with nice places to eat nearby). Today I went in to have my iPhone charging connection replaced ($60 here versus Apple telling me I needed a new phone) and instead of just replacing it as I asked Curt checked to see if blowing compressed air would solve my problem. It did and they didn't charge me at all! Curt even came out of the store as I was getting into my car (in the middle of a snow storm without a jacket on) to tell me to be careful using my old cord. Do NOT take your laptop or computer here for repair/fixes. I've had my cracked iPhone screen fixed here a number of times and they've been good at that. So when my laptop screen cracked I thought they'd be good for that too since they advertise that they're able to repair/fix computers as well. NOPE. Every time I call, they say they'll have someone else call me back. I've called THREE different times this week, each time the person answering says that someone else will call me back with an update. STILL NO UPDATE. They've had my laptop for over three months now (I broke the screen shortly after I got it so I've been using my old laptop while they've been "fixing" it). I just want to post this to warn others not to take laptops or computers here. read more

Curt is TRULY the best. i killed my phone last year... long story so this year. bizarrely, my charger died and i thought it was my phone, and i went down more than a year later.. and he REMEMBERED me :) and he checked it..nuttin' wrong with the phone. now as part of my studies, i tend to travel around other countries quite alot as part of my studies, and there have been many cases of repair shops ripping you of by claiming something is wrong with your electronics when there's nothing anything wrong..and nick your perfectly functioning electronics part. This place is seriously legit! Just received a replacement iPhone for my Android yesterday. Switching brands/models totally, I didn't have any accessories so I was wanting to protect it in a pinch. Did a quick search on Yelp for somewhere to put a screen protector on my iPhone 4s and hopefully buy a case. Seeing the decent ratings, I gave this place a call and they said they could easily help me out. Stopped by after work and there were already a couple of customers waiting for their phones to be repaired but I was immediately greeted and told it would be just a short wait. Not only was it a short wait, but during that time, I noticed Curt and his employee were going above and beyond to help the other customers. Very comforting. When it came time, they quickly put a great screen protector on my phone (no bubbles!) and it has a nice matte finish that won't smudge with finger prints. They also recommended a great case for protection and put that on for me as well. Prices were extremely reasonable. I went in to have several intermittent problems with my iphone addressed. The owner was friendly at first but then began to be sarcastic and insulting toward me. When I complained, he insisted it was my problem saying, "you seemed so nice and friendly at first". I told him he seemed the same way until he became sarcastic and insulting. Our exchange went back and forth several times, but he was arrogant and unapologetic saying, "well you don't have to like my sense of humor" and "not everyone has to like me". So, if you want to have your phone fixed the techs are great, but beware. The owner's customer service can be bullying and abusive. He acknowledged he had heard my complaint from others, but never apologized to me. It is long past time for him to address his personal problem. read more

The repair for my Iphone was quick and inexpensive, and the customer service was excellent.

Following work in Snowstorm Nemo, my iPhone 4s stopped taking a charge and would not turn off. Eventually, it just died. My first thought was to take it to the Apple Store. It was their product, so I figured they'd know how to best fix it. The guy informed me that there was some corrosion which I suspected and told me that he could try replacing the battery, but there was no guarantee that would fix it. I wasn't completely satisfied about the diagnosis and searched for a second opinion and solution. I found Curt's shop online and took it there the next morning. Within 45 minutes, he and his co-worker had it up and running after replacing the docking port. Unbelievable service and a huge stress relief. Curt charged me $65 (less than the battery fee at Apple and significantly less than purchasing a new phone). Be wary of the Genius Bar. Take your phone to Curt. read more

So happy that this business is still around as we needed it for a cracked ipod screen. When we entered the 2nd floor space what caught my eye first was this really cool mobile that Amy made from the many cracked screens. My daughter handed the screen to the gentleman at the desk who offered her a choice of purple or green screen which was very exciting. I just got back from picking up my iPhone 5s and I couldn't be happier... First off, everyone in this small little business is super friendly. It's really cool that you can see everyone working while you wait for your phone to be fixed. The owner Curt was very nice, and he seemed to be well-liked by his employees as well. I cracked my iPhone5s and searched all over Boston for the right place to fix it. I found this place from living up the street from it and decided to give it a shot, I am so happy I did! For $120 (they may seem pricey but honestly after searching for the right place this price seems to be the average anywhere you go....any less than $90, you get what you way pay for) they replaced my cracked screen within an hour AND Curt himself even offered to replace the back of my phone which was also a little bit cracked, for a great additional price. Honestly I wouldn't recommend anywhere else to trust someone with your phone. I discovered iPhoneCurt when I stupidly dropped my iPhone in to a toilet (this thing was heavy it took on so much water) and needed to get it fixed, or spend 400$ to buy a new one. I didn't think these phones could be fixed but he took care of it. THEN my external hard drive crashed... Apple told me it was hopeless basically, which wasn't good news; I'm a senior Graphic Design student so I'd be losing hundreds of hours of work from the past 4 years. I made a hail mary call to iPhoneCurt asking if they do data recovery and they did. If that wasn't great enough, Curt called me that evening to tell me that it looked like it was going to be okay, and that he could transfer my data to a new drive. He set me up with a new one (everything was there) and even told me that if I couldn't use a folder/document for some reason to bring it back in. Both services were reasonably priced (I couldn't believe how low it cost to recover my data) and both him and his wife are very nice people... they don't judge your silly mistakes and are really there to help you out. This business is super fast and convenient, and probably similarly priced to having Apple replace my shattered 5C screen ($190 total after taxes) but I didn't have to go all the way to Boylston, I didn't have to wade through 1,000 humans playing with Apple products, and I didn't have to wait for a blue shirt to help me. My iPhone5 went for a swim in the toilet and I immediately put it in rice with no success. I the called verizon to get a replacement and they told me I didn't have insurance and I would need to pay 600 for a new phone. I went to iPhone Kurt Monday morning at 11 and it was ready by 3 ! My experience with iPhone Curt was absolutely horrendous. Bad enough to make a Yelp account and hope someone thinking of giving him business thinks twice after reading this review. The screen on my laptop decided to stop working. It'd turn on, work fine for a few minutes then just go black. After some searching I found iPhone Curt, who on top of being right on my commute home from work had several glowing reviews about how great and affordable his work was, so I decided to drop it there. I dropped my laptop off on Feb 19th and was told that someone would get back to me with the diagnosis and action plan within 24 hours. 12 hours later I got a phone call and 2 potential courses of action. After initial quality customer service, everything went down hill. I was told my issue was I either needed a new screen or new cables. The cables were an easy relatively inexpensive repair but were no guarantee to fix my problem. A new screen was going to cost me more but would "definitely" fix my issue. I decided to go with the new screen. I was told it'd take 3-5 days to fix and I'd get a call when it was ready. A week and a half passed, no word, so I decided to call. I got some story about how the part was hard to find and it was due in the next day and my lap top would be fixed immediately. Next day I got a call saying the screen didn't fix the problem but new cables would definitely solve the issue and they'd "give me a deal and not charge me for the cables". Pissed off I was sold a more expensive fix that didn't work I grudgingly accepted. I was again told this repair would take 3-5 days. 2 weeks passed, no word. I called again to see what was going on. Got the same story about the cables being hard to find and that they'd just arrived and my laptop would be ready the next day. The next morning I got a voicemail telling me to call back. I assumed it was for the price and to tell me it was ready, boy was I wrong. I called back only to be told the new cables didn't work either. They offered no solutions or apologies, but rather told me to come pick the lap top up when I had a chance. I was furious at this point. On top of a 3-5 day repair taking 3 weeks my laptop wasn't actually fixed. They had my laptop from Feb 19th to March 8th and did nothing with it. When I showed up I voiced my dissatisfaction and explained that I needed the laptop and they held it hostage for so long without fixing anything and they'd basically just wasted my time. Curt still offered no apologies and proceeded to tell me my lap top was a piece of junk and he could replace it for me for a low cost. I was livid at this point. The guy was incapable of fixing my laptop and is now trying to sell me a replacement? Really? I told him I had no desire to do any further business with him. His response was telling me he wasn't charging me even though he ordered parts and wasted labor hours on attempting to fix my lap top. On top of being incompetent he actually tried to guilt me into buying a new laptop from him. Customer Service: 0 stars Competency: 0 stars Communication: 0 stars Location: 1 star TL:DR; Don't waste your time going to iPhone Curt. Review Update- My phone was sent to another repair shop because of my warranty... Basically, the other repair shop made a mistake by saying my phone had water damage. However, Curt specifically told me there wasn't and I even checked myself. Curt did an accurate job checking my phone, so I changed my review to 5 stars. Also, I have to say he reminds me of the comedian Michael Mcdonald, which is not a bad thing :). I walked in and Curt instantly "acknowledged" me with a smile. Not a big deal I know, but I felt welcomed lol. Anyways, went to his store to get my Samsung Galaxy S4 diagnosed. Although it did take 2 phone calls to check the status of my phone, Curt did give me a call and politely told me I had to replace the motherboard and it would cost me x. The reason I came here was because I didn't know how to diagnose the problem. However, I've taken galaxies apart and they are fairly easy to repair (even Curt said so, so he was being honest with me). Anyways, the price quote he gave me was very fair. I'm a very technical guy btw. I got my phone back and didn't want it repaired because I wasn't sure about my warranty. Curt didn't charge a single cent for the diagnostic. The screws were definitely changed with new or better ones and the phone had been clean. However, there was a mark on the phone and it may have been caused by him (I think he caused it but don't quote me on that). I would rate them a 4 and would definitely recommend going there for repairs because- - Curt is very knowledgeable and is a very nice guy. He definitely wouldn't scam/overcharge you on repairs or anything like that (I was dubious about the reviews before but not anymore). - I wasn't notified about my phone and had to call them (although they had promised it would be ready the day after). It took 2 days but its really not a big deal. It's not really Curt's fault actually but the receptionist who claimed he had my email on both days and would notify me through it (its funny because I knew he didn't have my email so I had to ask him about that on the second day....). read more

Very pleased with my experience at TechRescue or iPhoneCurt as the sign reads. I brought my iphone with a decimated screen in for a fix and they had in finished in a few hours. And the price was slightly less than I expected! They guarantee their screens so if there's a defect I am not stuck paying for another one. The guy who ran the desk was really friendly and helpful, the music was great, the decor was fun [I loved the giant sand art style rice vase, an ode to getting your iphone wet]. I walked in dreading the interaction and anticipated price and out feeling so pleased I decided to write my first yelp review. My phone died last night with all my contacts and texts. Dropped the phone off this morning around 9 in the snowstorm and they had it all fixed by 1130 and it cost a staggering 15$ (sarcasm intended). Changed the home button of my iphone. broke again soon after 2 weeks. I opened my iphone after ordering another home button from ebay to fix it. I realized that they had missed some screws in my iphone and never put them back when assembling it the first time. well I could replace my home button and I saved 50$ by not trusting iPhoneCurt anymore. I took me 4 hours, yes, but its better than having them put a crappy home button in my iphone. They buy the cheapest materials from ebay, not the best ones. So your device breaks again and you go to them again to fix it. He told me that theres no guarantee, but if it breaks and you come back to me again, I give you a discount the second time. My experience with this business prompted me to create a Yelp account. Never have I dealt with such apathy and a lack of professionalism with any other business. The story: I cracked my phones screen and need a replacement. I call them up with google voice, they tell me they've got the part and the turn around is the same day. "FANTASTIC!" I think to myself. I drive over and thus begins the fun. Immediately they tell me that they're not sure if they have the part and they need to order it. "No big deal, I'll just go somewhere else" I think, no harm no foul. As I'm about to leave he then tells me to wait, picks through various storage bins and magically finds the part! "Should be ready tomorrow" he says. "Okay" I reluctantly let out. Better than no repair at all I suppose? Turn to the next day, no emails stating its been fixed. I REALLY need my phone, I'm a realtor and 80% of my job is done via phone. It gets to 3 oclock so I head over to the shop which closes in just another 3 hours. I come to find that they have not begun to fix the phone and had also completely forgotten about it. Was it a bit annoying to just show up? Maybe, but I was assured it was a simple and quick fix. Curt then hops right on it to begin the repair. Awesome! 5 minutes later the verdict arrives. "Ooops its not the right part! We can order it for you if you want." No fucking thanks. 2 phoneless days where I could have brought it to another repair service or just ordered a replacement. Totally fucked for my weekend showings and not even a semblance of an apology from Curt. That's all it takes to make me happy, some sort of show of remorse for poor conduct. Shit out of luck I guess.
