If you are looking for a fantastic school that loves, nurtures and teaches your child - all while doing it in two languages - look no further. The teachers are fantastic, the facilities are amazing and the curriculum is so well thought out. This is such a special school that teaches kids in a fun and impactful way. It marries the best of the French education system with the American system. We have been unbelievably happy parents for 4 years now, and all of our children have gone to this school. My daughter actually asks to go to school even when she's sick as she doesn't want to miss a day...if that's not the biggest endorsement, I don't know what is! We couldn't be happier with the experience we have had so far at Teddy Bear Club. Our daughter started last year and from the beginning has adored every minute of school. She has learned so much both socially and academically. The teachers and staff provide an environment that is (not only spotless and beautifully decorated) but also nurturing while still encouraging and fostering their independence. We have sent both our children to the Teddy Bear Club and have been involved with the school for five years. We have experienced both the Newton and Lincoln schools and have been thrilled with the experience. The teachers are all phenomenal. The attention to the children is more than you can hope for and the environment is completely nurturing and pristine. Everything is done with the highest level of attention to detail and consideration for the kids. Both our children have adored all their teachers and we have felt over the years that we could not have made a better selection in schooling for their first experience. It has created a love for learning in both our children which was our sole goal. The children practice at length for projects and play productions that they completely love and the performances are always incredible orchestrations. At year's end the parents are given bound booklets of their child's best work through the year which we have saved and will have as amazing keepsakes of our children's early development. The teachers provide incredibly detailed reports twice yearly to cover all aspects of your child's development which are immeasurably helpful at home as well to focus in on strengths and weaknesses. We have commuted from Cambridge for both schools and the commute has been worth every minute for the experiences our kids have enjoyed. Additionally, and as a complete bonus, the families that we have met through Teddy Bear have been wonderful and long lasting friends. All the parents I have encountered all feel the same about the school - we are incredibly lucky to have had our children exposed to such an incredible school and experience. Our daughter attended TBC for three years, first in Newton and later on at the Lincoln campus. She thrived at both preschools and we found the teachers to be competent and super nice. Our daughter developed into a sassy, independent girl, ready for Kindergarten ! We chose TBC as European expats because we wanted to maintain our daughter's French language skills and that mission was accomplished too. We enjoyed the professionalism and structured communication and are amazed by everything our daughter has learned while having so much fun. The Teddy Bear Club has been a wonderful place for our son to learn and explore a new language/culture! Every teacher has vast experience in working with young children and exposing them to creative ways to pick up on the new language of French. My wife and I are very pleased with every aspect of the school, from the cleanliness of the center to the professionalism of the staff and most of all to our sons desire to always want to be there (yes even on weekends he mentions "when can I go back to the Teddy Bear Club?"). We are so happy to have found a second home for our child and believe that learning a second language helps a child's brain develop with much better perspective on all subjects and life in general. We finished our first year at Teddy Bear Club in Lincoln and could not be happier. This is a really perfect place for little ones to get their first taste of school. The School itself is pristine, incredible clean, bright and cozy, it fits in nicely with the location and the setup for pickup/drop off is very efficient. The Teachers were just amazing really caring and attentive with lots of updates and we could really tell they had real connection with the kids. We think they have hit the right balance of structure/play/fun/learning for preschoolers. Our child did not want to go to "school" initially but this changed over time and he ended the year with lot of growth and new friends. The other families were an unexpected great plus as well. It is really amazing how the other families we just genuine nice and friendly people we made new friends for outside of school activities as well which is a great bonus. The only downside I would have is the cost but you can see that money is being put into the location and top quality teachers, I 100% endorse the Teddy Bear Club, our child is going back for year two next year. read more

My five-year-old daughter has had an amazing year at the Teddy Bear Club nursery school in Lincoln, Ma. Last spring, we were looking for an exciting, creative pre-k program for our precocious little girl. We are not a French speaking family, so it wasn't first on our list of schools to consider. However, we were encouraged by a neighbor to take a tour. Once my daughter and I met with the staff and teachers, learned about the montessori-based program, and saw the beautiful school and campus, we signed up immediately. The curriculum is rich & varied, the teachers are warm, caring and enthusiastic, and best of all, my daughter wakes up each morning super excited to go to school each day. She comes home using French words and singing songs in both French and English. She loves learning about other countries through the "journeys around the world" program and is super proud of her 'travels' & 'passport'. She is teaching our family things about other cultures and customs along with teaching me basic French. She is working hard to teach me the proper ' accent.' Clearly, learning French at a young age is ideal because she has picked it up so easily. She has mastered all the pre-k academics and seems very well prepared for kindergarten in the fall. The end of the year play/musical has inspired her to add actress/dancer to the list of things she wants to be when she grows up. We are cherishing our daughter's last days at the school and wish the year hadn't gone so fast. It is such a special place and we feel very lucky to have been a part of such a special nursery school program. read more

My son started at the Teddy Bear Club's Petit Jardin at 2 years old. From our first visit to Teddy Bear Club, he didn't want to leave! Even offers of 'specials' and other fun adventures did not deter our little toddler, he loved it. Our son returned to the Moyen Jardin this year, and again, he loved every second. We actually need to detach his hand from the TBC playground gates each time at pick up, while he screams "I don't want to leave! I want to stay at school!" Needless to say, he is a big fan. We love the teachers, all are very down to earth and really connect with the children. The children's activities are always creative and interesting, lots of singing, arts, as well as French of course. My son has been there for a year and a half, and has a basic understanding that there are two languages, and when someone is speaking French and when someone is speaking English. The grounds are pristine both inside and out, you can tell they take pride in their school. It's a fantastic school, we have been very happy with it, and it's why we plan to send our little one's sister next year. Definitely check it out, you won't be disappointed. read more

Update, we have now been a Teddy Bear Club family for a few years. Our older child is now in the highest class (jardin maternel--the Kindergarten class), after having started halfway through the year in petit jardin (2-3 year olds, entry class), then done moyen jardin (medium class, ages about 3-4), and then the grand jardin (pre-K, about ages 4-5). He was on the younger side of all of those classes and is now one of the older ones in the Kindergarten class. He is thriving! His teacher Erin is a dream come true. His teachers last year, Christine and Sophie, were fantastic! We adore this school! All of the staff are so warm and creative! Our younger child is now in petit jardin (the littlest ones) and started in September just before he turned 2 years old. He is a very different child and student than our older child, and the school is just as fantastic with him and working to meet him where he is, and in the ways that best suit his learning style and needs which are very different. He loves his school, and I literally have to pry his hands off the doorknob to his classroom in order to get him over to the bench to take his boots and coat off when we arrive. He had a fantastic, incredible experience over the summer at their "day camp" as his first school-type experience, even as he was adjusting to leaving home for the day for the first time in his life. The Teddy Bear Club is by far the best preschool that I have encountered in my many years of parenting. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming for both parents and children. The school administration is so thorough and thoughtful in their planning, that there is never any stress for parent or child. The space is large, neat, clean and creative; providing a very happy environment with plenty of room for movement and activities without feeling confined. Children encounter and enjoy a myriad of educational growth opportunities seamlessly through interesting projects and everyday activities, all shepherded by amazing, happy teachers. Teddy Bear Club has made a world of difference to my child. He began with summer school when he was little over 2, and now he's 5 and the past years have been wonderful. We are not a French speaking family, but I believe the bilingual atmosphere at school is very beneficial because it helps children understand the concept of languages, and that people can communicate in other languages just as easily as in English. The curriculum is very well-rounded and education is imparted in a warm, nurturing environment by amazing teachers. Midway through our son's second year at a Montessori program, it was clear the program was not a good fit. The moment we stepped inside the Lincoln Teddy Bear Club, we knew we had found a home away from home for him. The space is bright and impeccably clean. It is playful, yet meticulously organized. Every single person who is part of the school greets you with a radiant smile and a welcoming "Bonjour!" and it is so crystal clear that the staff not only knows what they are doing professionally, but holds a passion and love for the children there. Our son transformed when he joined the Teddy Bear Club and school has become a very positive experience for him. Perhaps the highest compliment is that he will tell people he wants to be a Teddy Bear Club Teacher when he grows up. The staff give him love and spark his creative mind and that in all of our books is the highest goal for a preschool learning environment. I have sent two very different children to the Teddy Bear Club - two girls and they both adored it. As a parent, I think the teachers are incredible, the small size allows nimble classroom progression, and the school is invested in character education. All of these factors have made it a terrific place for my children to develop. The teachers are incredibly nurturing and attentive to every need. The journeys around the world in the Moyen Jardin and Grand Jardin are amazing. My girls loved coming home telling me about the different counties and flags. At the end of the year, all classes perform a play. I can't express how incredibly sweet and enjoyable it is to watch your child perform his or her own first play. There's also an end of year graduation that is amazing and will bring tears to your eyes! I think you can even watch one on youtube? We started sending our son there at 2 years old because we felt that he was too spirited and active for a regular daycare or preschool. We are so happy with our choice. The facilities are beautiful and clean, the curriculum is engaging and is reflective of students abilities through play and experiential learning, while the French speaking experience provides a multi-dimentional learning that builds brain function and provides children with the opportunity to begin learning about the global community. The teachers and administration are attentive and responsive to the parents' and children' needs, and you get a community that is supportive, caring, and genuine. The biggest bonus is that our son is excited to be there, loves learning, is happy to see his friends, and loves his teachers. Our son is going on his 3rd year at TBC and we are so excited that our daughter will be starting there in the fall too. I love love love the Teddy Bear Club. read more
