They are a co-op, so don't be fooled, you have to contribute time, but what parent wouldn't want to be involved in their children's daily lives? LNS is located at the DeCordova Museum, which helps them incorporate nature and art into the curriculum. Because there is a parent teacher in the classroom every day, you can be confident that your children are in great hands. These teachers are so kind and you can trust that they treat your child as if he/she were their own. To help acclimate your child into the school and classroom they: 1) start with a home visit to every child's home to get to know them in a setting where they feel comfortable. 2) have "lemonade parties" where the kids can go have a snack and lemonade at school for an hour and hang out in the classroom/on campus and with the teachers with their parents around. 3) they start the year off with just half of the class for the first two days so it isn't overwhelming for the kids and they can have more individual time with the teachers. Throughout the year, they conduct parent teacher curriculum nights and events. They have their whole year scheduled and organized. The teachers have an online blog where you can read what they are doing and they post photos for you to be a part of the experience. This School is very advanced for a "day care". They follow some of the practices of some of the private schools in the area. I have been to quite a few day cares and I have 3 children, so I am really impressed by this nursery school. Amazing place! Please feel free to contact me with any questions!

The classrooms are full of light and fun - inspiring a love of art and nature, and giving children the tools they need to discover their world and develop meaningful friendships. Lori is very involved with all the students and their circumstances and does an amazing job making sure they are happy, healthy and safe. Magic offers enrichment almost everyday whether it's gymnastics, sports, music, yoga, swimming, Spanish or outdoor explorations! They work hard for my son and have helped me get him extra help with our towns preschool for OT and PT. I love this school so much and will be so sad when he graduates in 2023. He will be prepared and then some for transitioning into kindergarten and I couldn't be happier with the team he has on his side.

My daughter loves it here, and I love sending her here. The teachers at Magic Garden have been fabulous. My daughter has been in the Starburst room - her teachers are very experienced, enthusiastic, fun, and encouraging. The kids spend time doing meaningful play-based activities while learning social skills, learning about the world around them, and gaining reading, writing, and math skills that will prepare them well for kindergarten. They do art projects every day and have ample time to run around outside in one of several beautiful playgrounds. One of the things I like best about Magic Garden is the enrichment activities that are offered. The children have Spanish once per week. In the fall they do gymnastics once per week. In the winter and summer they have swimming (at the BSC in Waltham or the local Lincoln pool), and in the spring the kids walk to the Decordova museum for art classes. They also do creative movement and fitness. As a working mom with limited time to drive the kids to activities, this is a huge benefit for me. Magic Garden's extended day program and year-round schedule also make it a great place for families with two working parents. We can't be happier with our choice to send our daughter to Magic Garden. It is a great community and a special place!

I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the program and saw the huge yard with lots of outdoor playspace geared for my energetic little guy. The learning space inside was airy, bright and impeccably clean. There were so many hands on activities that I have never seen before in the regular preschool classroom because I never really knew what a Montessori school was until I met Maria and she guided me through her extensive curriculum. Apparently he will choose the activities he is interested in and they will provide him with lessons. Since each child could be learning something different at any given moment they have up to three teachers with only 10 children. It seems there's so much opportunity for our child to grow and learn in this warm and nurturing environment. I didn't feel this comfortable when we walked into the large daycare facility by our house so that is why I was so happy to have found this Montessori. The Spanish is an added bonus! Now I cannot wait until our little guy turns 2 so we can enroll him in.

As a single mom, finding a supportive, nurturing, and enriching environment for my children was essential, and BOPN gave us exactly that and so much more. From the incredible administration and passionate founders to the caring, dedicated teachers and the wonderful families who make up the community, every single person involved in this school is extraordinary. There is a warmth, authenticity, and deep commitment to the well-being and growth of every child, and every parent, that you simply don't find everywhere. My girls have not only flourished academically and socially, but they've also developed a deep love for nature, exploration, and learning through play. Every day was filled with joy, wonder, and connection. The values of empathy, curiosity, and community are woven into everything they do. Boston Outdoor Preschool Network truly became our village, and I will always be grateful for the love and support we received here. Jill and her team are the very best! They provide a loving and nurturing environment that we feel so lucky our kiddos are a part of. They have a school-wide curriculum with age appropriate activities for each classroom and lots of fun themed days/weeks... the last several years they have had an annual Art Show and Trunk or Treat for families, which has been so nice to feel involved in our kiddos' school community. Communication has always been great and we've never felt badly reaching out about the tiniest things ("did we leave the baby's milk cup?".... "did she finally stop crying after I left?"...). Most importantly, the teachers are all amazing and truly have gotten to know our kids and feel like family to us. They are kind, approachable, and consistently work wonderfully with both of our children and their individual needs and we feel so grateful for that! Children requiring different routines and attention can sometimes disrupt the schedule and sleep of other children. The director often reprimands the teachers very harshly in front of anyone, which is unprofessional and uncomfortable to witness. I strongly suggest she reconsider her approach and treat the teachers the ones who make parents feel confident and happy with the respect they deserve. As a parent, I want the best for my children while I work a place that can provide comfort and proper rest. We pay a lot of money to ensure our children's routine and sleep are respected, so it is disappointing when these are disrupted. Please do not misinterpret my words, and I apologize in advance, but there are many parents who are not happy with the disruption to our children's routines, especially when there are other centers designed to meet the needs of these children. The teachers are truly the heart of the center and the only reason I would recommend it.
