I wish I could give zero stars. the owner is a nasty person. I witnessed someone come in to have their dog bathed and when he arrived he mentioned that his dog had fleas. she humiliated him in front of other customers and then continued to talk about him after he left in front of everyone. they also were very judgmental when I brought my dog in with long nails and my other dog was not easy to groom because he has bad anxiety. i would never trust these people especially the owner with my dogs. read more

This saddens me to leave a review like this but I feel it is important to let others know of my experience. I have taken "Brody" to them for 5 years and thought that it was the best place ever My GF started taking him there and there were other issues along the way but I tried to make the best of it as she only wanted the owner to clip him but on 3 occasions I popped in early and saw another groomer sniping on him, but...... the last time I took my dog there he was returned in a non satisfying condition. He has always been in what I call "General Pop" with all other dogs running loose but this time he came from a back room and I didn't think to much of it but when we got into car I smelled wet dog and thought it was the seat protector so,,, I took him home and when we got in the house I noticed the smell and he stunk and I looked at him closely and saw that they cut him, Shaved and nicked him and he has 2 big skin abrasions/wounds on his flanks and it dawned on me why he was not in "general Pop" as the other dogs would of honed in on the injury's. I sent this email to the owner; Brody Has 2 big sore spots red? Where the hair was clipped down to the skin? I do have pictures. This has never happened before. It's on both sides of his butt. If you give me an email I will send you the pictures.{ Which I Did} This is not the quality that I have come to expect. Rick She replied back; {This was from Owner} Apparently I'm having trouble suiting you . Sent from my iPhone So I replied; It is not a matter of suiting me. It is a matter of look at the pictures of how my dog was returned to me. The person that did this had to know what they did. You can see that the hair was clipped off down to the skin and actually was a wound.. I am really not difficult to please, but when my dog comes back to me with an obvious issue that was caused at your business and not have anyone to even say oh, we had a little issue. I think I am justified in Questioning and bringing up the issue. "EDIT AFTER OWNERS RESPONSE " I must point out that I loved taking my dog there but after reading the OWNERS response I'm adding this to my review 1) your concern did not rise up until after the review as I did email you and told you what was wrong and thought I sent you the pictures and your first response was "I cant seem to please you" 2) YOU the owner were the one that was suppose to be grooming him from Day 1 as my Terry always wanted you to do it but.....If you were the one grooming him you would of surely saw the wounds and noticed the dogs distress from the experience. So you not knowing about it assures me that YOU were not doing the grooming and I have also came over there and saw someone else clipping on Brody. So you not being aware is a issue with your employees. 3) My dog stunk and him being in the back was something that I never saw before and HE was always in General Pop or in lock up at front of store , I revert back to my original statement that he could not be with other dogs as they would be licking and bothering the cuts, abrasions as animals do. read more

There are several pet grooming businesses that are closer for us but, Teg's is worth the extra travel. The staff is skilled, friendly and "customer-focused" which is difficult when the human customer drives & the dog customer needs the service (wash, haircut, nail trim, etc.). The staff listens to owners & earns the trust of canines in their temporary possession. Scottish terriers can be stubborn & "uncooperative". Ours always leaves Teg's well-groomed, clean & happy. Like many dog breeds, Scottie's have remarkable memories, especially when it comes to "bad experiences". These memories can cause "reluctance to enter" on return visits. Happy to say we have never seen that behavior with Teg's. Competitive prices + talented staff + happy puppy = repeat customer. WOOF! read more

So happy I found a place in Harrisburg that I like! Very reasonably priced and very courteous staff. Duncan came out looking like a cutie and while he put his 'traumatized separation anxiety face' on as soon as I walked in to pick him up, he looked none the worse for wear. Shock and surprise! we dropped off our Pomeranian and upon picking her up, a man groomer was caught yelling at my dog and yelled at her "You suck" and pushed her away with his foot. all it takes is one jerk at one place and I can promise we'll never go there again. read more

Teg's is absolutely wonderful. It's significantly cheaper than Petsmart, they do a better job and my pup is happier. My dog is a mutt so there's no specifications for how he should look, but I described what I wanted and they nailed it the first time. I've been going back ever since! I love that he doesn't have to spend all day in a crate (they let me drop him off first thing in the morning and pick him up after work, a huge bonus as a single working dog mom). We LOVE Andréa and Sam at Teg's!!! (And I'm a "helicopter dog mom", so I stayed and observed the grooming process many times before I left my dog to be groomed without me in the building)My teacup poodle gets separation anxiety so badly and Andréa takes all the necessary steps to successfully groom her while keeping her calm and happy at the same time... she keeps her separate from the other dogs, books her first or last so she doesn't have to wait long while anxious, and she is patient and speaks so calmly and kindly to her so she feels as comfortable as possible. My Yorkie loves to visit the other dogs and people until it's her turn. She has a luxated patella and Sam is so gentle with her, I know that she's in good hands. They always come home looking like show dogs! I bathe my senior chihuahua and my Frenchie puppy myself due to them not needing haircuts, but I wouldn't hesitate trusting Teg's with the rest of my precious cargo! Don't come here with your cat. All of these reviews are about dogs, they seem to love and take care of dogs, but they don't take that extra care for the cats they're being paid to handle and groom. Months ago, my cat went to her regular groomer in Philly and came back with hotspots because the groomer had not dried her well from her bath. We took months and months of taking care of the hotspots, and I was hesitant to take her any other groomer without a high rating. My cat had mats on her butt, which is around where the hotspots were (but were now completely HEALED) which was why it was so hard for me to brush her, and I didn't want anyone creating the hotspots worse with a grooming. So long story short, I left her at Teg's for a lion cut and a bath. She has had lion cuts before, and she has had baths before. The groomer that I used to use would tell me she was very good but loud. I get a call from Teg's THREE HOURS after I drop her off, telling me she was unable to be bathed because she was being so angry while getting a lion cut. Well, that might be because they groom their cats WITH DOGS RUNNING AROUND THE TABLE and dogs yelping while being groomed. MOST CATS DO NOT LIKE DOGS. My cat had a negative experience with dogs, and I told them that, hoping they had a separate room to groom cats. Nope, not the case. Also, what if my cat had been matted all over? What if there was another cat who had been neglected and matted for YEARS? DON'T OFFER LION CUTS IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE CATS WHO ARE "MAD". Don't offer BATHING if you can't handle bathing a cat. Ridiculous! It doesn't end there... I get there, and they point out to me that they had nicked her because of the matting. TWICE. One on her arm (where there wasn't even matting) and one where her hotspot was. She claimed that it was a hotspot that was not healed, but that was a complete lie. My cat was at the vet the day before and they completely checked out her hotspot area and it was completely healed, so this groomer opened it back up. Blamed it on being not healed. Long story short, this place is probably great for dogs, they're treated like royalty. If they can't handle grooming a GOOD, VERY well behaved cat, they can't handle any cat. And just like another negative cat review, my cat had so much excess loose hair coming off of her when I picked her up, they could've at least dusted her off. read more

The stress you put on the dogs when checking in blew me away. it was like a circus. I asked you for a cut and showed you want I wanted, you did the opposite.I said I don't want her shaved 3x!!!!! Teg's is the best place to take your dog if you really care about the treatment they get and the best grooming experience. They cost less than Petco, and Andrea has way more experience than anyone you will find at a chain location. My Scottish Terrier loves going there. Andrea does a fantastic job with his Scottie cut and makes him look like a million bucks! They do a great job supervising all of the dogs playing together too. Some friends recommended Teg's to me when I first adopted my Scottie and I have recommended them to many people since. We see Andrea every 6 to 8 weeks and have a great experience every time. read more

Called for an appointment for my dog after a recommendation from a friend. They allowed me to bring him in on short notice. Service was friendly and professional. Prices are reasonable. My dog loved the fact that they let all of the dogs "run loose" and mingle when they weren't getting groomed. Will definitely go back. read more

Zulu is the happiest whenever he's at Teg's. He's always treated like family, and comes home with his nails in impeccable shape and smelling so fresh. He can usually be really stubborn about his nails, but they know exactly how to handle him. He likes being free to roam around with the other dogs while he's waiting to be picked up. Called looking for a next day appointment and I was able to get in! I am very particular about how my little Yorkie mix gets done and Olivia exceeded all of my expectations. She listened to everything I asked and when I came to pick him up 2 hours later he was as happy as could be! What I was also excited about was they do not crate the dogs! My little guy was able to play with all the other dogs in a play area while waiting to be pampered! I would never recommend this place to anyone. I am extremely disappointed with the service I was provided. I have a miniature schnauzer and they completely shaved off her beard! When I arrived with my dog it was loud and I felt rushed. I explained I wanted her ears shaved but never did I say to shave her beard. She looks absolutely ridiculous. I am also aware that she gets anxious when she is groomed so I was proactive and gave her prescription anxiety medicine before I took her per my vets recommendation. When I went to pick her up I was also told that they needed to muzzle her which I am positive just made her even more anxious. I would rather have received a phone call saying that they were not able to groom my dog because she was too difficult. Then I would be able to take her somewhere else rather than have them muzzle her and give her a terrible haircut. She is not an aggressive dog and we have never had this issue with our previous groomer. I even called the previous groomer to verify this and they assured me that she was never muzzled, mean, or aggressive/gave them any trouble. We only decided to try Teg's because it is so close to our house and I was able to walk her there. They did refund our money, but the owner was argumentative because I didn't specifically say "not to shave her beard". Again, she is a miniature schnauzer and that is their signature feature. If they thought I wanted her beard shaved, I would think that is something they should definitely clarify. I will never be going back and do not recommend to anyone. I am almost embarrassed to post these pictures publicly. read more

My dog Harry has congestive heart disease. He had congestive heart failure twice in 2016 and once in 2017. Sam, his groomer is excellent with him, she makes sure he does not get stressed out and his appointment is never during peak time. I highly recommend Teg's. read more

Having finally had to take our Golden Doodle to another groomer, as we have since moved to the other side of the country (making it not the most financially sound decision to bring her back), I thought about how awesome Teg's was to work with. I like Teg's a lot. They did a wonderful job with grooming my pup and were accommodating with getting her in last minute. I also like that she isn't in a cage or crate when they're done with her, but that she can wander around and play with the other dogs until I pick her up. I took my Bichon/Shih Tzu mix here for a full groom. I know she was in bad shape since it had been a while, and she fights when we try to brush her. We expected her to have a short cut to get all the matted hair off of her. I didn't expect that they would find fleas and give her an oral medication without our permission. They called and left a message to inform us that they are giving it to her but never asked for our permission. Teg's said they have to give this to protect the other dogs from getting it. Personally, I feel they can keep a dog isolated until permission is granted or immediately give the dog a flea bath. When I called back and explained that I wasn't happy about them administering a medication, they said it was not a medication and next time check for fleas before bringing her in. I researched and found that it is a medication that can also have side effects. They were very rude on the phone and in person. They also wanted to charge me for the Capstar (medication) but did waive it when I complained. Perhaps this medication is just fine or even the best treatment for fleas, but I don't believe a groomer should make that decision for my dog. read more

I went here because of the reviews on the place, so I made an appointment took my baby there on time. At the time when I dropped him off no dogs were there. I came back an hour later to check up on him and they Said they didn't even start on him. And the place was packed with dogs. My poor cat was sitting in his cat carrier for an hour. Then, 15 minutes later I get a rude call saying they found one flea on him and I would have to pay more. That's all fine and dandy but, they didn't have to be rude about it. For all I know he could have got it from sitting in that shop. What made me upset was my cat was treated like a 2nd class animal. They let the dogs roam free but no special place for the cats. They just shoved him back in his cage. The worse part was when we took him out of his cage to hold him in the car. He had clumps of fur coming off him and some stuck to him. Like they couldn't take 2 secs to brush him after. I would give it no stars if I could. read more
