I tend to have a high pain tolerance and my go-to method of hair removal was brazilian wax and tweezing for underarms. The laser they use here apparently is one of the newest tech out. It doesn't hurt at all. Sara did a great job on constantly asking if I was doing okay and adjusting the laser intensity accordingly to my tolerance. Even when I was on my monthly cycle, Sara did a great job making me feel comfortable and working efficiently. (Just make sure you wear a tampon and take a shower before your appointment) The staff here does an amazing job at picking up their phones. They use online booking system to track appointments, sending forms you need to fill out before each session and processing payment. If you need to reschedule or want to come in earlier, they do a great job about being flexible and fitting you in. For underarms + brazilian laser hair removal, it always takes about 15-20min. They keep the facility very clean and very private. The rep was thorough & had to show her presentation on her laptop vs. the mounted TV monitor because it wasn't connecting. She answered many questions about the procedure, pros & cons, where you can't have it done as far as on the body & general experiences she's heard as a rep for the past 7 years. The Cooltone demo wasn't as popular with the participants so I was able to try it out on my belly just to see what it feels like. It kinda tickled when it would vibrate which indicated when the lactic acid would be released. The process is supposed to mimic doing a ton of situps when it is activated at it's maximum level. Mine was at a lower level for demo's sake. The Medical Assistant called my name & I got an evaluation. She was helpful, honest, friendly & talked about her personal experiences with the Coolsculpting & how the Elite machine is more advanced than previous versions. This office has already canceled on her once with less than 24 hours' notice, which was frustrating and inconvenient--but we gave them the benefit of the doubt. Today, after driving over 40 minutes to the appointment, we were told she could not be seen unless she left a credit card on file. This was never mentioned over the phone when the appointment was confirmed. My mother, understandably, declined due to her credit cards being recently compromised at another medical facility. Instead of showing understanding or flexibility, they demanded a $100 cash deposit just in case of a future no-show. She didn't have $100 cash, and they refused to provide her with care. Shockingly, there was another woman in the office at the same time who was also denied care for the exact same reason. Denying patients--especially those in pain and with valid insurance--due to arbitrary financial policies that weren't disclosed in advance is unethical and deeply concerning. To make matters worse, this office has the audacity to enforce strict no-show penalties while canceling on patients themselves with less than 24 hours' notice. The double standard is unbelievable. We will be filing formal complaints with the state medical board and the Attorney General's office. No patient should be treated this way. This office is a clear example of what's wrong with parts of our healthcare system: prioritizing financial policies over compassion and care.
