I want to preface this by saying this is a 4.5 star review, but of course Yelp only allows whole star ratings. Temakinho was such a clutch find. When you're traveling in Italy for a prolonged period, eventually pizza and pasta gets old. The sushi at Temakinho not only suffices as a substitute for the copious amounts of Italian food, but it down right impresses with interesting maki combinations, a cool atmosphere and refreshingly delicious artisan cocktails. Temakinho is a Brazilian style sushi restaurant, that's actually doing justice to the word 'fusion'. The restaurant immediately reminded me of a less expensive Sushi Samba (popular high-end Brazilian style sushi restaurant in the U.S. and London). The drinks are downright awesome, so refreshing and artfully made. The bartender that evening took her time and made each drink to perfection, which was the case for the multiple rounds of mango sakerinhas and passion fruit caprinhas we had. We started with the small plate of seared tuna atop pureed yellow and purple potatoes garnished with a citrus sauce - solid. Wish the portion was a bit bigger since it was only 4 bites but I guess it was a small plate after all. For sushi, we opted for three different rolls which I'm forgetting the names. One had fried salmon tempura with avocado and then banana and cream cheese on top - sounds weird but it was actually really delicious. The next was a spicy tuna roll of sorts with a crunchy topping which I think included peanuts - also very good. My favorite was the yellowtail roll, showcasing yellowtail two ways - very refreshing and tasty. I also paid attention to other rolls or temaki that other diners ordered and everything looked genuinely fresh and yummy. Again, Temakinho was such a nice deviation from pasta and pizza. The sushi was creative, the drinks were amazing, and the staff was very friendly/accommodating. Future trips to Rome won't be complete without dining at Temakinho.

This sushi was delicious!! My mom and I were on day 9 in Italy and needed a little break from all of the pasta and pizza! We are huge sushi fans and were exceptionally pleased by this stop! Definitely get there when they open, or make reservations because it fills up fast! The avocado small plate appetizer was to die for!

To-die-for sushi in Rome! A must-go while near the Colosseum. Great to eat when you are tired of the Italian food. This is Brazilian-Japanese fusion and it is honestly amazing. Hard to find this quality of sushi in the States. Get here early before the lunch rush and your food will come out in a snap! Any of their sushi rolls are fantastic and I have been here on two separate trips to Rome. Water is complimentary, and the mixed drinks are fruity and fun. They have a list of freshly squeezed juices that are delicious. I recommend any of the salmon or tempura rolls, and the Mexican roll with jalapeños!

Great restaurant if you are looking for something different from traditional Japanese rolls. Here they have very unique Brazilian inspired rolls for example with bananas. The cocktails are very good too! The restaurant is not cheap but it is definitely worth it. It is very small and remember to book online in advance!

Look, I didn't come all the way to Rome expecting to have one of the best sushi meals I've had in…read moreyears--but Sushisen absolutely delivered. We grabbed seats at the rotating bar (kaiten style), and let me just say that if you're someone who loves watching food go by like it's an edible runway show, this is your jam. Plate after plate of beautifully crafted nigiri, maki, and fresh bites just glide past you, and you can take whatever catches your eye. It's a low-pressure, high-satisfaction way to eat. Nothing felt mass-produced--everything tasted carefully made, with that clean, precise flavor you hope for in sushi. Our favorites were the salmon belly nigiri, which was buttery and rich without being overwhelming. The shrimp tempura roll had the perfect crunch-to-soft-rice ratio. And the spicy tuna had just enough kick to keep it interesting without trying too hard. Even the wasabi felt dialed in--not a sinus assault, just a smart accent. And whoever's in charge of plating back there clearly respects the artform. These plates aren't just tasty--they're a little bit elegant. The interior manages to feel sleek and modern while still being cozy. And since we were seated at the counter we got to watch the chefs at work which was a true highlight. Quiet craftsmanship, no fuss, just focus and intention. Staff were kind and helpful, and while I didn't sample the sake or wine (for religious reasons), the servers never made it weird. Just warm, professional hospitality all around. Pro tip: Sit at the bar, go with an open mind, and trust your eyes. If it looks good, it is good. And maybe skip breakfast--you'll want room for more plates than you think.

We figured it was an answer to our rice issue and off we went in search of rice and sushi. Food: they offer an unlimited option for lunch and dinner and have a big list to choose from. There is also an a la carte menu. We chose to go with the unlimited and were satisfied with our pickings. We ordered: Sushi: Tamago Dragon roll Salmon roll The sushi was good, rice was cooked well. Other entrees: Fried rice Katsudon Pork cutlet Fried chicken cutlet Ebi tempura Tom kha soup Everything tasted good with the exception of the tom kha soup. Appearance wise, the coconut milk was real bubbly and taste wise, something was off. after one sip, we figured it would be safe not to eat it in fear of bubble guts. All in all, we would visit again if the rice craving hits. It's a decent price, food is made to order and the staff are nice. They make it a point to let you know that whatever food is left over, they may charge you extra, so order wisely! Location: its a 5 minute walk from the Termini station.

The tall filipino girl, just stood there and had a stone face stare, when I told I her I didn't want to sit near the entrance door where the cigarette smoke was coming in, she asked us to stand outside instead and wait until they open and we watch her moping the floors pass the opening hours. Highly unprofessional. When her friends came in, like a school girl jumping up/down. The way she explain how to operate the machine was confusing. She didn't offer a printed menu, we had to ask for it. She wasn't as helpful as expected. The Food needs much improvements as it Fried Chicken was dry and tasteless...this indicated it was frozen and not fresh. She erved rice way before the food came, it ended up cold. Ramen Noodles, egg on top was well done, 2 sliver pc of meat taste like leather, 1pc of seaweed and green onions, only thing that taste good was the broth. The Teriyaki salmon on the stick must've been frozen fish...dried and tasteless, had it not been for the sauce, this would've been a turn off. While paying...not one thank you or a smile. This whole experience was a joke and not worthy of a repeat in business. I wouldn't even rate anything, but I'll give it 1 star to post this and hopefully that no one else have to go thru this uneventful experienced
