Sadly you can slap 4 stars on the front and call it good. The bathroom smells horrible as soon as we opened the door. Oh and you have to "upgrade" to a room with air conditioning. I'd love to leave the windows open to vent the air out but you can't with the nightlife happen. read more

We booked two night at Temple Bar Hotel. Decided to book a suite to start the trip off right. Unfortunately Aer Lingus cancelled our flight from Boston. I had booked several other Hotels and a rental car. I contacted each property and cancelled. EVERY property understood that the cancelation of the trip was out of our control and provided a FULL refund, that is of course except for Temple Bar Hotel. They said that because I decided to pre-pay for my room, I would not be refunded. I attempted to explain again what happened and why we could not make it to Dublin. They again said no but asked for documentation proving cancelation of the flight and they would speak with the revenue department and see what they could do. Again, nothing. A third attempt resulted in an offer of £100 refund. I spent $600.00. Their lack of empathy and understanding was disappointing. I booked this vacation in February. I wasn't going to get to Ireland. All I wanted was to receive a refund and move on. I fully plan on getting to Dublin soon. I WILL NOT BE STAYING AT TEMPLE BAR HOTEL. What I find interesting is that they could not refund me. But then they could offer £100. I understand policy as do the other properties I booked in Ireland. The other properties understood my circumstances and wanted to keep my business in the future. Temple Bar Hotel did not care about me or my loyalty. From time to time it is necessary to deviate from policy. It's a shame that Temple Bar Hotel did not find this to be one of those times. Wifi is very slow, when it works. Rooms that have windows onto Fleet Street seem quaint until the 4:00AM deliveries to the grocery store across the street and to the nearby pubs wake you up. This after the week-night revelers singing in the street through the night prevented falling asleep in the first place. And the bed mattress should have been thrown away five years ago. The breakfast is good, though. And I guess if you are one of the tourist revelers the lack of sleep at night time would be acceptable. But for business travel this is not the place to stay. read more

Although the hotel is dated the price was right when I booked it. Once we were there the accomodations were what I expected. Now for the GREAT part. It is in the heart of Temple Bar so location is prime. The staff were outstanding. We were there for three nights then left for an over night in Limerick. When returning we were running late and called. The informed us that not only would our accomodations be held but since we had decided to return to their hotel they upgraded our room! read more

The staff here was very friendly and super accommodating. The hotel was clean and the bed was comfortable. The pictures will have you thinking it's a luxury hotel but it's not. It's more of a three star hotel. It still served its purpose. They have a great bar/nightclub next door which was a blast to hang out at for New Year's Eve. This hotel is centrally located near all major public transit and on the same street as all the action. I would encourage anyone visiting the Temple Bar area to stay here for their first visit. The price is unbeatable for the service. The one call out is that they do not provide small washcloths in the bathroom so be prepared. I would recommend this hotel but I personally will probably stay at the Westin for my next visit. read more

I would not recommend this hotel. First we booked a room for the three of us. There was a double bed and a single room which was find however this room has no dresser and therefore we two of the girls had to live out of a suitcase. They had asked for a Refrigator 4 times two days later before they got one. The room was extremely hot and noisy. This was room 202. After being in the room for one hour I went to the reception and HAD to book myself another room use room 202 can sleep 3 but can not accommodate 3 people unless you do not care about your cloth and do not mind living out of your suitcase. Now, get to my room at 416 heating was as high as possible and impossible to sleep. By the time I got someone to come check the heating they told me to open the windows and turn on the portable van. Really? Therefore, with the window open I also get no sleep. Ok, now I asked 4 times for maintenance to come to check my electrical as I could not plug in any of my electricals. The maintenance guy was very nice and brought me an adapted and said he would be back with his tools to fix it. I said ok I'm going to step out but go ahead and fix it. I asked to speak to a manager 5 times before I finally heard from her 5 times and her name was Donna. After explaining all of the above she told me she would credit me 70 euros and that was the best she can do. She could not comprehend that I had to spend money for two rooms. 1/3 of room 202 and $680.36. Therefore, I had to pay over $1,100. Oh buy wait when I checked in I noticed they charged my card twice and told them so. The guy said he will fix it tomorrow and the girl came over and said I said this happen before and I'll try and fix it before I go home. When I came back from dinner I noticed it still wasn't reversed and talked to the guy again and he said yes he will fix it. I went to my room and when I woke up the next morning I noticed it was still there. I had to call my bank at 25 cents per min sit on hold till I'm got a customer custom and explain to them what happen and the band seen the double charge and reversed it. So there goes 25 cents at 43 min that I will also get a bill for.. I also had to ask for toilet paper several times and never got it until I seen the cleaning lady in the hall and got it from her I will say the cleaning lady was very nice. Also, a night manager who actually told the time to come to my room to talk to me and said he would Leave a note for the front desk manager and have her call me first thing in the morning and that he was very sorry. Worst hotel Manager (Donna). How can you think $70 euros is compensation for having to pay for two dysfunctional rooms. So ridiculous managed read more

I stayed here during a Study Abroad class in May and we even stayed through the weekend. They had excellent service and the breakfast was amazing. The hotel was very clean. The bar downstairs was very nice as well. The music from the adjoining bar did not affect me at all when trying to go to sleep. I would highly recommend this hotel. read more

Had a LARGE room in the back of the hotel, away from the noise. But even so, they still provided earplugs just in case. Had a mini fridge which was a nice amenity to have. Staff was pleasant and informative. Parking is 15e a day at the Fleet St Parking garage around the corner. read more

I gave this hotel one star only because I couldn't give any less. The room was cleaned but generally showing signs of a lack of care. For a non-smoking room there was a surprising odor of smoke. The breakfast was generally good but even when arriving at a time suggested by the hotel for best service the restaurant was full, many items were unavailable. There are many many better hotels in Dublin. Do not waste your time with this one. read more

I would rate lower if possible. DO NOT stay at this hotel. It is right above a club that plays VERY loud music into the streets with speakers blasting very bad music into the streets. The insult to injury is that the talent they hire is terrible, so on top of being unreasonably loud, they have no talent and a bizarre song selection (ex. They played a very weird rendition from the cartoon Aladdin!?) No other bar on the street plays music this loud. Do your self a favor, and skip this hotel. UPDATE: Staff was willing to work with me, and put me in a room towards the back of the hotel that was much quieter. If you stay here, insist on a room that is not facing Fleet street. read more

So i have to start off by saying If you want a quiet hotel, this isn't it. Our room was right above buskers bar/club. (224)Yes it was loud but they offer ear plugs which worked nicely. We knew it would be loud being right on fleet st. (Temple bar area) but we loved it. Don't do the breakfast (it's over priced) plus why would you want to eat there every day. I did have a ghost experience at Buskers (basement sports bar) went to bathroom late one night (basement) . As i flushed the toilet the door slammed on me open. I thought someone opened it so i yelled hey I'm in here. Got out and nothing, looked under ever stall, nothing, ran to the hall way, nothing.... it wasn't like i left the door unlocked, i made sure i locked it and even if i didn't and it opened it would of been a soft open, it felt like someone kicked it open and hit me so hard i had to hold myself to the wall..... scared the shit out of me ( no pun intended.) ran back upstairs!!!! Walking distance to everything.... staff was great! Great location and great party spot after you hit all the pubs. Daily live music which is always fun. Oh and I'm from the USA and they didn't have an outlet in the bathroom which made it hard to do my hair....had to do it from the bedroom where the mirror was too far to see what i was doing... needless to say my hair was a mess but who cares when everyone is drunk anyway. Aahh I loved this place. I stayed here on a weekend in Dublin for my 18th. Loved the hotel. It was smart and comfortable and the staff were friendlyand helpful. Enjoyed lounging around in the lobby with the family having a drink and falling all over the place... and scrapping and the like and the hotel people didn't mind one bit!! HA! The breakfast served in the morning was perfect!!! And the hotel corridors are also great for running around in when you feel like it... and the rooms are lovely and have everything you need and nice comfy beds. Will deffo be going back here next time I go to Dublin. Can't wait! read more

We stayed here our first night in Ireland for one night before heading to the west side of the country. You can't beat the price we paid for the location- it was central to everything in Dublin and ideal if you were looking to jam pack a lot of sights into a short amount of time. We had two rooms with two twin beds which was kind of odd at first since you usually don't see two twin beds in a hotel room here. The service was good and the free internet was a plus. There may have been free breakfast too but we skipped out on that so we could get on to our next stop. read more

There are lots of bars near by and people roam the streets in massive and loud crowds into the early hours of the morning. I booked a room for August 28th 2014. 13 months in advance. Temple Bar has charged me the full amount in advance. This was not made clear on the reservation. While making the reservation the reservation stated must be cancelled within 48 hours of arrival or 1 nights stay charged. Well they charged my entire stay of $1300 13 months in advance. This was a surprise to me. I contacted reservations who said not only do they charge in advance for this rate but it is non-refundable. I explain this wasnt clear, stating that it clearly says I can cancel within 48 hours. A manager contacts me back and says, sorry that is the policy. So they have taken $1300 from me 13 months in advance of a stay and wont let me cancel it. Very misleading booking practice. Very inconsiderate management. Would you want to stay at a hotel that treats their customers like this? Not good customer service. Horrible management. Stay away or risk being swindled. read more

My wife and I were at Temple Bar for two nights in July 2017, and we really enjoyed it. The location is superb, right in the middle of everything, just a couple of blocks away from the world famous Grafton Street shopping district. And the fitness gym around the corner is provided free of charge to Temple Bar guests--the gym is spectacular in every way, dozens of machines and free weights, mirrored walls, pool, hot tubs, saunas. Most of all, the Temple Bar staff was amazing. A blonde young lady at the front desk named Brid was the most amazing; when we checked out and told her our plans to stay in central Ireland that night, she suggested some other sites en route to Galway and actually made a few calls herself to book us into a wonderful bed/breakfast right next to the Cliffs of Moher. She had this all worked out in less than ten minutes, including getting us a refund at the place we were cancelling. Wow! Kudos to Brid and thanks for her incredible customer service! read more
